I have been learning more on illustrator....Learning how to color behind a drawing.

I took one of my designs that was just black line drawing and then added color...I was thrilled.  I have better luck with a new technique from the Roost Tribe.

You know how I love old fashioned retro cuteness....this is my candle design...a repeating pattern.

These seriously remind me of wrapping paper when I was a kid! 

The red sure is bright!

I love it...my daughter painted her whole living space in the lower part of our home bright red...my mom would have loved that and her.

Red always reminds me of mom.

The angel design above is vintage wrap I have...it is part of my collection...I took the colors from the paper to make a great color palette.  Sometimes color choices are the most important thing about a project.

Hahaha...

I had to throw in this funny pink retro doll....just another corny decoration to throw at you!

I would have loved it when I was a kid.

Today I spent (but sometimes felt like wasted) the day figuring out my new pantone color guide.

These swatches can be put into your computer to make a perfect color palette for your fabric designs  or projects to be printed by a printer or company .... they can duplicate it exactly.

Learning is never a waste...so I take back what I said.....I spent the day wisely!!

My hubby spoiled me with this.....for our 19th Wedding Anniversary on Monday!

I love it and will always cherish it!

He is a very understanding man...I can talk crafts, quilting, painting, and all.....and he doesn't go nuts or cross-eyed.

He is very supportive and is very proud of my accomplishments!

Love him!

Stitchin a scarecrow

This is a current project I am stitchin on.  

My scarecrow scene.  

I always have something to stitch....just ready in case I am in the mood.

It is perfect when watching some sports with my hubby or just relaxing outside.

I just got this kit at Hobby lobby.

It was fun...an easy project to stitch.

I am going to make some fun necklaces soon.

I have been busy filling orders with Checkers, drawing ideas, finishing projects, and learning more repeating patterns.

There is never enough time in a day however.

She has been gone for 17 years...miss her greatly.

As I have told you before...

My only child was born and my mom died 20 days later....

As one angel came into my life...another left.

I cherish my time with my daughter....she is my everything...so is her daddy, my husband.

My daughter, so small, and her daddy.

I gave my mom the Andy Warhol treatment....lol

My patterns are now available through this awesome company!!!

I am so happy...I really can't hold it in!

I made a lovely brochure with 30 patterns in it and sent it off to checker's.

I really took my time and care....and only sent it to checkers.

I bound my brochure and sent it with a wholesale list, a pattern, business card and bookmark.

Alyssa wanted them!!!

We are starting out with the 30 in the brochure and then can work on the others later....because I have alot of patterns!!

I am sooo excited....and always wanted checkers as a distributor.

These are just some of the patterns available. 

Now quilt shop owners and other businesses can sell my designs in their stores!

I have quilt shops order through me, but this will reach a much larger audience and make it easier for customers. 

So...after doing my happy dance a few times...

I must get back to business!!!

Remember when back in grade school they would put pictures in as a replacement for a word...like Washington's picture replacing his name.  Maybe it was kindergarten?

My daughter and I plan to go for a walk soon...the sun in shining,,,,,blue skies...just gorgeous!

She would have been 84.

Now I am a mom...and realize all the things she had to do and deal with....

but she had five...I only have one...lol

Every Mother's day she would get a Geranium from church...for having the most children who attended church...boy that was a long time ago.

I love being a mom and wouldn't change it for the world.

I will always be Selina's mom and I am so very lucky!

When Selina came into this world...my mom left it 20 days later.

I feel I have had two major sections of my life...one with my mom and the other with my daughter.

They didn't intersect for long.
