A Little bird told me something....

A little bird told me...that it is Freebie Friday!!!!
I am always happy that it is Friday!
Save this artwork, and maybe make this into a framed embroidery design.
---------------------------------------
I had a lot of fun with one of my sisters this past week.
Angie is on the left and I am on the right.  That was taken a long time ago.
We played old video games like ms. Pacman and dig dug.....with Kahlua /cookies and cream milkshakes.
We shopped, watched movies like "Blue Jasmine" (LOVE this movie),  saw the new planet of the apes movie, had an art night where we drew and played with supplies, played games like sorry, clue, etc...
We stayed up late every night ...until at least 2am....and even had marshmallows around the fire pit.

It was like we were kids again!
Our mom always had to tell us to be quiet....which made us giggle even louder!
Nothing like brushing your teeth, hearing your mom snore like a chain saw and then laughing so hard you think you will die!

Seems like many lifetimes ago when we were young....but having this week brought it all back!

Come to Thrifty Thursday , The Pin me linky party and The  Party Bunch link party....so much fun!

Wednesday.....

Here is a wild animal.....the crazy beast...the Giraffe.
They are so gentle really...a beautiful creature.
For some reason they remind me of baby toys and decor.
Every day this week I will have a design for that particular day ...I started Sunday.
..................................................................
My sister Angie's Birthday is today.....she is 4 years older than me and the closest to me in age.
This is her....but the others I cut out are my other siblings....he he he
They were doing a dress up wedding.  Angie was a flower girl.
I put "Angie Baby"... because there was a song called that.
Here is the full picture.
From the left is my sister Julie- Computer project manager
my brother Vince- Publisher at Spokane living magazine
Angie- Math teacher
and Cecilia- cash logistic services.
I was not born yet.
Our mother has passed away 16 years ago..and their father has been deceased since 1976.
My father has been the only father they really knew...he is doing well.
....................
Angie and I have had some serious fun...all our lives.
We would play games & watch movies until 3am.
We loved making Kahlua shakes....laughing our belly's off watching the "Kids in the hall".
We shared rooms a lot and we always had a blast.  We even shared a collage dorm room together.
She was my maid of honor at my wedding.  The last time she was in a dress!
Every time she comes to town we stay up super late....getting caught up on everything and then shop til we drop the next day....repeat....ha ha .
She was always a laugh and still is...everyone likes her.
I made her a special gift I mailed her...hope she gets it today.

My shopping haul...crafting goodies

I went to my sisters town this past weekend...had a blast.
We had good meals, talked and laughed, hot tubbed, and shopped til we dropped.
I want to show you what I got....that is crafting related.
I got all kinds of fun goodies.

I got beads, gems, and vintage buttons!  Pretty darned cheap too.

I love this big bag of white buttons....2 bucks!

There were all kinds of bundles of fabric.....did I need them....not telling.

LOVE the Halloween fabric...the pumpkin fabric I have had before....one of my favorites.

Dennison Halloween booklet....for a dollar!!!!
I grabbed that faster than fast.  I also got some old witch diecuts....I will have to take a pic of that later.

a cool bead necktie for my daughter...needs a little repair.

Bundles for a buck

Love the blue gem cameo.

Wild animal print for my daughter.....rick rack for me.....again did I need more stuff?

Vintage lace...yes I needed it!!!
I also got some lovely Kelly Rae Robert stuff....a canvas print and cool mirror.
Got records (love vinyl) and clothes too.
My daughter has a new wardrobe I think....thank god some of it came from thrifting.
I need a nap to catch up on this wild weekend.

My daughter at Octopus garden....hats with wigs!
That store is a whole lot of fun.

Sunday morning...at McDonald's for breakfast....imitating Miley Cyrus on Saturday night live.
That's my crazy sister...Angie.

Back in the day...1982

Good Saturday to you!
This is me and one of my sisters.....back in 1982.
My sister is on the left...her name is Angie  (Angie baby...if you sing the song to her..lol)
I am on the right.  She is four years older than me.
We have had some seriously fabulous times...laughing so hard our mom would yell at us to be quiet for the millionth time.
We would play old computer games like digdug and remote control....with a  Kahlua shake.
Watch the "Kids in the hall" until our ribs would ache with laughter.
She would make a string contraption all across our room so she could pull it and turn out the lights.  She would also fall asleep with gum in her mouth...to find it stuck in her hair....lol.
We would cover our walls with tiger beat pictures of Shaun cassidy, leif erickson, and elton john.....and also that hunky guy from the blue lagoon.

Anyway...I could tell a million stories...but she has serious back pain right now....gonna see her next week.
I hope she gets better soon....I know back pain can come and go.
She also has arthritis now...so that is bad too.

She should have a Kahlua shake...I think I will text her that!

Summer.....Oh the good old days

Wow....it has been hot in Spokane Washington.....and next week it will be hotter....upper 90's.
That is me on the right....in 1972.  I have "Sugar" my dog next to me, and my sister Julie on the left. I have 3 sisters and one bro.
We are at deer lake....north of Spokane.
Remember the good old days....when you just played all day long.....everyone was safe....and there were no worries?
We went there many times....good memories.

When we were kids ....our family did not have enough money for chips, pop, snacks.....etc.
When we were hungry my mom told us to go eat a nice piece of toast.
There were never left overs and we went out to a fast food restaurant about 3 times a year.
You only got milk for your cereal and at school.
We had great holidays though....food and gifts a plenty.
I was my father's only child and the baby of the family.  My mom raised us well and my father has been there for me all through the years...and still is!

Sometimes it seems like I have already had five life's worth of fun....and I will have a lot more.
Do you feel that way?

Memory collages - celebrating sisters

I love to do altered art collages....it is like playing around with art supplies when we were kids.  The above collage is for my sister Angie....she is closest in age to me...4 years apart.  I was the youngest of 5 kids...the other 4 had a different father....one they barely knew:(
I spliced together their pictures on the 6 of hearts card.  There was never any real pic of her dad holding her. My mom is on the 5 of diamonds (she was a diamond!)  My sister loves this!

My older sister, Cecilia is 8 years older than me and we do lots together....always shopping and all.  She was like a second mom.  This sister was a total blonde and into her dolls...she still is!  It is hard to see, but I made a paper dress with hanger for her collage.  I like taking the old photos and making something unique.  She had alot more pics than Angie and I did.  I think my mom was economizing as much as she could....we had a huge house on a double lot...what a great childhood home.
My dad was more of a father to them than their real father.  They only saw their dad a few times and then he died later without getting to know his children.  It is sad.  Our mom was great though...she did everything for us and was so strong.  My dad misses my mom alot.....they were good friends after they divorced....lol.  He would fix anything that went wrong with the house or cars...and she would cook a huge meal.....fair trade.
My dad is having computer problems....imagine an 80 year scotsman talking to an AOL customer service guy in India...lol....so funny!
