Inspire...hearts

Sometimes we need to be inspired...I'm hoping this little tutorial will inspire you to make a sweet hanging heart!  It would be cute in valentine colors too!

It is really very simple. 

Here is a heart template....or you could draw your own heart shape. 

The ribbons I used are just a clump of seam binding ribbons tied together.

I love stamping out words and sayings...the sky's the limit.

You could personalize so easily!

This heart would make a great sachet.

I've been painting again....

I wanted to paint something cheerful and springy...so tired of snow and ice. This is a large 16 x 20.

I started with a canvas of old book pages, and then drawing out my ideas... loosely.  I then started to paint some base items but wipe away some paint so you can see the book pages too.

I think it is important when layering to make sure you don't over do the paint.

Here I am adding a vase for the flowers.

Little by little things are coming together....a yellow bird, more flowers and a table top.

Adding some details....

The vase needed some excitement...lol. 

I stenciled some bricks too.

I added more details ...including a banner in the birds mouth.

I used colored pencils and pastels too....with shades of paint to give depth.

Here is a closeup of the bird part.

This was really fun and I always am really happy I took time away from other projects to do this....sometimes you need a break from all the usual stuff.

I have been off....no work...all fun and play!

I am making a little valentine raggedy ann doll with pink hair...just playing round and seeing what I shall adorn her with.

I have been playing around with valentine surface pattern designs...this is one of them....kitty cats with hearts.

I made some catnip mice for my cats...these are so simple to make...it literally took about 15 minutes.

Here is lucky...having fun with his mouse...my sister calls him a 28 pound monster...he was offended.

This is my best nine pictures of 2017...looks like my favorite thing is stitching!

This has been a fun year for projects.

I have been eating so many yummies...that it will be a very good thing to get back to better eating soon after christmas.

I having been making surface pattern designs...like this crow and flowers one...so much fun to do.  I tried adding more texture to the design....so it won't look so flat.

I realy enjoy working on it...it is really like playing.

I hope to get a few collections done before Spring quilt market.

I have been whipping up a gingerbread ornament for a gift exchange...using my old pin pattern.

I am using the gingerbread and adding some hollys.

So far, so good. 

I need to finish this up soon!

Trix says she approves of the roses I got for our 21st wedding anniversary!

I love him so very much...we had a wonderful anniversary.

I finally took some new photos of my christmas ornaments...and fixed the covers of my patterns...so much better.

over the years I have learned alot...including better photography!

Seems like there is so much to do this time of year!

I run on Coffee and Christmas cheer...

I love my 2 cups of coffee in the morning....plus being cheerful helps the day start great.

I drew on illustrator all the design elements... like the coffee cup, pine sprigs, berries and such then I played with color!

I also worked on added texture to it.... which is so much fun...it is like playing the computer and markers....hard to explain.
