Welcome June!

Beautiful June is here!

The flowers are blooming and the scent in the air is fabulous!
I love that summer is starting and it's not too hot yet.
It's a great time to relax and enjoy creating some new projects.

I took some of my artwork to make this "June" calendar.
The yellow bird has a little "Love" banner in his beak.
Download the desktop calendar here. The pink area is perfect for your computer icon area.

They make great gifts and look amazing sitting on a little shelf or hanging on a tree.... unstuffed makes a great wearable pin.

It's mug rug time!
This month....I found my Christmas "Peanuts" fabric!
I love charlie Brown and the whole gang.....such a sweet part of our childhoods!
I also gathered up a bit of fun Christmas coordinating fabric.
You should make your own.

The featured fabric is the best part....any cool fabric you have....takes only scraps.

Here is a diagram to give you an idea of how it goes together.

Here is some general instructions:
Use a 1/4" seam allowance. Use the chart above.
Sew the featured fabric (peanuts gang) next to 3 strips of coordinating fabric.
Press well. Sew 1" strips all the way around. It is a good idea for the fabric border strips to be the same as the backing fabric.  It makes the strips resemble quilt binding.  Cut excess fabric and press. Layer batting and backing fabric (slightly larger than top) then lay top over backing (right sides together).  Pin in place. Sew 1/4"  around mug rug leaving a 3" opening. Turn inside out. Sew opening closed. Quilt lines through the featured fabric...and also quilt down strips and around the borders.

I printed the diagram out so I could have it near me for referencing.
