10 Christmas symbols included: stocking, holly, 2 ornaments, candy canes, mitten, present, bell, tree, &snowman.

It's mug rug time!
This month....I found my Christmas "Peanuts" fabric!
I love charlie Brown and the whole gang.....such a sweet part of our childhoods!
I also gathered up a bit of fun Christmas coordinating fabric.
You should make your own.

The featured fabric is the best part....any cool fabric you have....takes only scraps.

Here is a diagram to give you an idea of how it goes together.

Here is some general instructions:
Use a 1/4" seam allowance. Use the chart above.
Sew the featured fabric (peanuts gang) next to 3 strips of coordinating fabric.
Press well. Sew 1" strips all the way around. It is a good idea for the fabric border strips to be the same as the backing fabric.  It makes the strips resemble quilt binding.  Cut excess fabric and press. Layer batting and backing fabric (slightly larger than top) then lay top over backing (right sides together).  Pin in place. Sew 1/4"  around mug rug leaving a 3" opening. Turn inside out. Sew opening closed. Quilt lines through the featured fabric...and also quilt down strips and around the borders.

I printed the diagram out so I could have it near me for referencing.

Congrats graduates...fun idea!

Can you believe it is already time for this year's graduates to graduate?
Seems like this spring has went really fast.
Are you needing an idea on how to decorate for the big Graduation party?
For this easy project...I used a few supplies...
A Deflecto wet erase board in the stand....
Deflecto's cool and bright markers for chalk boards.
Party streamers
and tape or glue.
This is how the sign looks undecorated.
It is double sided....it looks the same on the back as it does on the front.
I am a big fan of party streamers...
they are sooo inexpensive and easy to get in any color.
I cut a 4 inch piece....then cut three slits longways in the strip.
I put many colors together and did the same thing to all of them.
You can make this much thicker by adding many more strips.

I just rolled up the non cut end. Glue or tape to secure.
I scrunched up the party streamer ends with my fingers...lightly.
These markers are so bright and much nicer than colored chalk...
they erase easily with water and paper towel.
I wrote my message and added the pom pom's to the sign.
Choose your school colors!
The sign is great all year round....for whatever you want to use it for.
Here I wrote a to-do list.
I can see me using it for funny messages to my daughter....
personalizing it for birthdays....
changing it for all the holidays....
welcoming guests to the party...
Etc...

Next year my daughter will be the graduate....her colors are orange and black....
wow time flies!

Christmas decor & my new office space

I don't know about you, but putting up the Christmas decor is harder and harder every year.
I guess it is because I keep collecting more and I want my house to look awesome! lol
I have a fridge with a chalk board front. I love marking it up.
I took my Deflecto chalk markers and had a blast this morning...goofing around like a kid.
These markers come in 5 colors.
These are my two mice I have had for about 20 years.  Someone made them and put them in a craft mall....when I saw them ....I had to have them.  They were expensive at the time....but I was so over the moon with them that it didn't matter.  Who ever made them....I say THANKS!
I will take more Xmas pics later.
I made myself another office....one office is in the studio I have ....which is in a big building right next to my house that used to be a paint and body shop.
But I wanted an office that was more handy in the winter.
This is my little yellow room....very old fashioned wallpaper....but I like this room alot!
I just put up my bulletin board....I stuck up my banner, some signs, and a few Christmas hoop projects.
My old wooden frame just has sting stapled to the back with clothes pins...another place to hang up stuff!
In the center is my childhood stocking....I love the nutcracker with Baryshnikov back in the late 70's.
My sister Julie made us stocking from felt...all different.  Mine was the coolest!!!
One downfall...not much could fit into it....lol.
These are the paintings above my computer and work space.
I painted them all except the top middle...it's a kelly rae roberts.

Here is a sneak peak of another cute pattern coming soon....this is a favorite of mine...so excited to release it.

Have a Marvelous Monday!!!
Visit my Pinterest boards some time!

Come to the pin me linky party and thrifty thursday!
