May....day calendar freebie

It's May.....day!
I made another set of phone/tablet calendar wallpapers and desktop for the computer...
for MAY....and it's free.
These are my very simple teal flowers....a fun repeating pattern design.
I really enjoy playing with color combinations and since this is usually not my kind of colors...it was fun!
Just save and set as your desktop wallpaper.
The solid blue on the left side is perfect so you can still see your desktop icons.

International quilt market is coming very soon now!

We are working hard getting ready for it...seems like there is always more to do.

One of the hardest things I have left is clothes shopping...I just don't like it.
We will be sure to take plenty of pics and videos.

Happy May to you!

Blue bird of happiness...

Some where over the rainbow...where blue birds fly...there is happiness!~~
This was super fun to make!
This is done mainly with a backstitch...and 3 strands of floss.
Lighten your spirit with this sweet hand embroidery quilt design.
This is a perfect way to decorate your home, add sweet charm to a nursery or make it into a gift for a friend who needs some cheer!
Make the design into the small quilt as shown or a pillow! It is very fast and easy to stitch up!

This picture really shows the quilting I did....I quilted on the muslin area, but not over the embroidery.

Here I added my nest basket that matched perfectly....I couldn't resist.
Now the lil quilt is in my dining room.

These are my violets outside my kitchen....so sweet and very much like a pansy.
I love the orange purple combo! (Walmart!)
I made a new coloring page....Get your happy on!
I love pansies....they are so delicate, small and HAPPY!
We had a cat named Pansy when I was little...my mom said her little face was just like a pansy.
It has always been my favorite flower...so I really wanted to create some surface pattern designs with them and  make this coloring page.
This is Great for anyone who loves to color! It could also be great stitched up...an embroidery project. There are no instructions however...just the page shown above. My signature will be at the bottom of the page. It prints on regular paper, 8 1/2" x 11".
Have a very Happy Tuesday!!!

Painting...what a process.

On Sunday....it rained and rained...so my daughter said she wanted an art day!
We got out a million supplies and got busy!
Above is the finished painting...."the Queen of Fun"
It started as a blank canvas...adding papers...old books and tissue papers.
Then I added paint...my favorite colors and more white.
Plus lots of scribbles.
To me it was still a mystery...I didn't know what I was going to paint.
Then I added some darker colors...
covering up...but layering.
Here I decide I want a queen with flowers.
It is taking shape.
Adding more details...more colors...it is fun playing around.
Here it is close to being done...cute and sweet...my style...lol.
After that I did this Halloween painting...I thought why not...everything is all over the table anyway.

I just love Halloween....can't get enough of it!

Here is one of my daughter Selina's paintings...
WE had a blast together.
Here is another cutie by Selina.
I love doing things with her...we get along like peas and carrots!

Hope you too had a fabulous weekend!

Old man winter is here!

Has old man winter hit your area?
It has here in the pacific northwest....we are going to have a White Christmas!!
We have not had one in several years.
Above is my new digital sign that is in my etsy shop.
I love working in adobe illustrator...making this sign with snowflakes.
With all my digital signs...you get a file to download instantly and u print....for only $5.99

Another item I have loaded up are my new candy cane licking gal tags....
perfect for gift tags.
They come on a sheet...u download and u print.
Just cut out and use over and over and over.

12 tags in one sheet.
They are even cute tied to a lil wreath or as part of a place setting.

My family had a progressive party last night...where you go around to each house to see the decorations and have food...it was so much fun and we watched a funny Carol Burnett Christmas special and then played lots of games...very fun to get together,
We want to stay home on Christmas and just have fun at home....with all this snow!!
By the way...with all the Star wars hoopla....I wanted to share my Xmas 1977 picture...I am the one with red hair and the Star Wars t-shirt!  My sister Julie there made all the stockings...and I still have the my ballerina stocking!
Seeing this brings back so many fun memories!!
It is funny how a picture just brings it all back.

Hope you have a terrific week!!!

Make your man happy...& inexpensively!

This year I decided to make a tall skinny tree....devoted to my husband's favorite team....the Seattle Seahawks!
He was really happy....since the whole house is my style and what I want as far as decorations.
The tree was 5.99 at goodwill....it is atleast 4 foot tall or more...but skinny.
The star was 99 cents- thrift store....garland....99 cents.
Most of the ornaments were from goodwill....99 cents for a box
I got a few special ornaments from craft fairs...everyone was Seahawk crazy...it is probably the same with your team in your area.
Plus buying at your local craft shows help our small businesses and your local crafts people.
The lights were just extras I had laying around.
This tree is so pretty and better of course in person.
Best of all...my husband loves looking at it....we are convinced it brought good luck to the last game...lol!

Just a reminder....
My BIG BIG SALE is now on!!!
40% off!!!!
Sorry ...the sale is now over
The sale is in my Etsy shop...use coupon code: Supersale
Use this code when checking out...if you need more info about using coupons...click here.
going on now ...until
Dec 3rd 11.59 pm (pacific standard time).

Candles and repeating patterns

Today I have been working on new designs and more repeating patterns....practicing some skills.
Here is what my repeating design looks like on the computer.

First I draw some designs...in this case it is candles....the retro kind from my childhood Christmas.
I redraw them in Adobe illustrator.

I add colors and other elements.
By switching colors...you can have a completely different look.

Love this yellow....remember when all the colors of the late 60's and early 70's were this bright and crazy?!!

I made it soft here...much more delicate.
Love the grays and blues.
More crazy wildness!!
My mom used to make the brightest clothes for us...this reminds me of it.
I love how different they can be....it is still the same design.
I don't know what I like best at this point!

This would be cute wrapping paper....I think.

Love purple.

My mind is spinning.

I now don't know where to start with color options.

If you have a favorite color combo or set ...please let me know....
I am totally not sure of what is best now.
