Hello November!

Wow...It's November!
Time for Pumpkin pie, raking leaves, staying cozy under a blanket, having soup and a fire in the fire place.
It's also craft show season and holiday shop hop time.
And who can forget Thanksgiving?
I love this time of year!

I also created the desktop version....click here to download this one.
Both calendar's were made from my pumpkin pie artwork.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Recently I went to an antique shop (1889 in Spokane) and fell in love with this gutted out Vintage TV.

I took it home and cleaned it up, painted the inside and Selina added lights inside the center.
I love it!
I am going to decorate and display all decorations items ...for each holiday!
Selina is going to make some fake dials for it.

The lights really make it come alive.
I also got this cool owl TV lamp at Two Women antiques store.

It is rare and super cool!
I didn't know there were TV lamps....our TV only had the antennae.
--------------------------------------------------------------
We had a wonder WSQ Quilt show this year...for two years it was cancelled because of Covid.
We had are double booth....which was great because it was super hard to fit it all in.
The booth is basically all my patterns with samples to show each design. Plus my daughter Selina's designs...like her mini hoop pendants hexies, and needle minders.

We had a great turn out and great sales. Our ladder display is always a hit.
The window frame in one of my oldest designs..the pattern sold out and I had to print more in the evening.

I signed my two books and sold dolls too.
It was alot of fun!
Halloween is my favorite and my customers agree.   Even though it was getting close to Halloween...everyone wants to work on projects.

My daughter was amazing at hanging things up...my stroke I had 2 years ago makes my balance a little off. I still feel like I have the Frankenstein walk, but my daughter disagrees.

These are some of Selina's products....ornaments, necklaces, pins...all made from wood and embroidery.

These are some of my newer designs.... everyday patterns...lots of dogs and little dolls.

I couldn't do any of this without of besties~
my husband and daughter.
They help me in everything!

Davy is growing!
He has the softest fun...and he is still naughty.

Here he is picking out his vacation destination for next year....
lol....he is really playing with my map I use when playing Jeopardy.

He is a total stinker....he toots!
I miss Froy very badly but Davy makes it easier.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
I bought an IPAD.
It's my very first apple product...I was scared that I wouldn't like it.
But I did!
I subscribed to Procreate....so much fun. I made this kitty....trying out different brushes.

Played with drawing this lil girl.  It came to me really fast...but I have experience in Adobe Illustrator.

Then I took a class...with mushrooms and flowers.... I am hooked.
I hope to create on these chilly days coming up.

Cute scarecrow I bought from Sweet meadows farms
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I had a rough 6 months....my uncle died, my dad got sicker and sicker, my aunt died and then 4 days later...my dad died.
It has been intense and tested my strength (which seemed weak at points) but things might get a little easier soon.
I also lost Froy and Lucky( my cats) this year.

Next comes a celebration of life for my dear dad.

-----------------------------

Let's enjoy this November....
have some tea or coffee...
sit and reflect....
hug a loved one and a pet!

Retro TV time... tiny embroidery

Time for a little TV.
Isn't this so cute?!
My daughter made this adorable TV pin/brooch blank....I designed the embroidery inside and stitched it up!
I drew up this little design...just to play with it.
This is how the TV looks before using it.
The center slips out.
I cut a piece of cotton batting using the inner shapes as a guide.
Place some glue on it.
and put the batting on it.
This will make a soft center for my embroidery to be placed on.
I stitched it up while watching TV....lol.
2 strands of floss and one strand for the windows.
I stitched it during "Survivor" and washed the blue marker off.
Then let dry.
I placed the embroidery over the center piece with batting on it.
then pushed the TV over it and glued it in place.
I glued a scrap of black felt and a pinback.
It is so sweet and any small design makes and interesting piece.
Even just pretty fabric is cool...like this Henry Glass cat fabric.

My new business cards came in and I love them...vista print.
This one is showcasing my daughter Selina's hexies and my embroidery designs.
This one is for my fabric design.
I love pansies and had to make a collection for that.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

This is my "April" one of the coloring pages calendar that I colored....it sits right by my computer in my office.
This week I have the 12 month printables on sale in my other etsy shop called ShirleyHudsonDesigns.
It is only $3.99.
You get all these designs to either color or you could use them for embroidery designs.
They are fun to color and use...they can be clipped to a clip board or hung up.
I may have to stitch up the America basket soon.

Revamping Valentine boxes!!

I love my newly revamped old Valentine boxes...this one has the sweetest valentine of a pussy cat.
I want to show you how easy it is to do it yourself!
Here are my ugly boxes....a pink one from goodwill...$1.
There was dirt and marks on it....making it sort of sad looking.
And this one is alright...but just advertises Russel Stovers.
I gathered up supplies...like my party streamers.
I LOVE party streamers because they are usually dirt cheap at thrift stores and are easy to work with.
I just took my white party streamer and started gathering it up with my fingers and pressing it down to keep the gathered shape.
I then started hot gluing it to the edges...making it evenly hanging over the edge a bit.
I started at the top middle point of the heart.
Lucky was helping ...like a good tabby cat.
He put his paw on things I should try next...no kidding...he is amazing.
I kept going around in layers.
When going around curves...just tuck to go around.
I wanted another color to be added.
It was addicting to keep on going.
I love the sweetness of it...reminds me of Marie Antoinette.
While I was working on this....I took my old valentine ...glued it onto cardstock and then added glitter.  I let it dry.

This is the kitty valentine I used.
I covered it up alot.
All these pics were taking while watching tv...so I am sorry the pictures are a little crazy and dark.
I also covered up the little red box.
I added white too.
I glued the kitty valentine on the center....glued ribbons under it (with a heart button) and added a few stickers.
I put a dog valentine on this one.
They are sooo cute and corny at the same time!
Now my boxes are not sad...
I can proudly put them out and enjoy.
Here is my last tip:
Don't put party streamers in the sunshine...they will fade...
but maybe you want it to fade?  It would look vintage if it was faded....lol.

Have an amazing day!

Come to the Home Matters Linky party!  Come to the Pin Me linky Party!  Come to Craftastic Mondays!
