Hello November!

Wow...It's November!
Time for Pumpkin pie, raking leaves, staying cozy under a blanket, having soup and a fire in the fire place.
It's also craft show season and holiday shop hop time.
And who can forget Thanksgiving?
I love this time of year!

I also created the desktop version....click here to download this one.
Both calendar's were made from my pumpkin pie artwork.

Recently I went to an antique shop (1889 in Spokane) and fell in love with this gutted out Vintage TV.

I took it home and cleaned it up, painted the inside and Selina added lights inside the center.
I love it!
I am going to decorate and display all decorations items ...for each holiday!
Selina is going to make some fake dials for it.

The lights really make it come alive.
I also got this cool owl TV lamp at Two Women antiques store.

It is rare and super cool!
I didn't know there were TV lamps....our TV only had the antennae.
--------------------------------------------------------------
We had a wonder WSQ Quilt show this year...for two years it was cancelled because of Covid.
We had are double booth....which was great because it was super hard to fit it all in.
The booth is basically all my patterns with samples to show each design. Plus my daughter Selina's designs...like her mini hoop pendants hexies, and needle minders.

We had a great turn out and great sales. Our ladder display is always a hit.
The window frame in one of my oldest designs..the pattern sold out and I had to print more in the evening.

I signed my two books and sold dolls too.
It was alot of fun!
Halloween is my favorite and my customers agree.   Even though it was getting close to Halloween...everyone wants to work on projects.

My daughter was amazing at hanging things up...my stroke I had 2 years ago makes my balance a little off. I still feel like I have the Frankenstein walk, but my daughter disagrees.

These are some of Selina's products....ornaments, necklaces, pins...all made from wood and embroidery.

These are some of my newer designs.... everyday patterns...lots of dogs and little dolls.

I couldn't do any of this without of besties~
my husband and daughter.
They help me in everything!

Davy is growing!
He has the softest fun...and he is still naughty.

Here he is picking out his vacation destination for next year....
lol....he is really playing with my map I use when playing Jeopardy.

He is a total stinker....he toots!
I miss Froy very badly but Davy makes it easier.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
I bought an IPAD.
It's my very first apple product...I was scared that I wouldn't like it.
But I did!
I subscribed to Procreate....so much fun. I made this kitty....trying out different brushes.

Played with drawing this lil girl.  It came to me really fast...but I have experience in Adobe Illustrator.

Then I took a class...with mushrooms and flowers.... I am hooked.
I hope to create on these chilly days coming up.
-------------------------------------------------
Cute scarecrow I bought from Sweet meadows farms
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I had a rough 6 months....my uncle died, my dad got sicker and sicker, my aunt died and then 4 days later...my dad died.
It has been intense and tested my strength (which seemed weak at points) but things might get a little easier soon.
I also lost Froy and Lucky( my cats) this year.

Next comes a celebration of life for my dear dad.

-----------------------------

Let's enjoy this November....
have some tea or coffee...
sit and reflect....
hug a loved one and a pet!

Hello November....brrr!

November is here!
It is starting out chilly, at least it is in the pacific northwest.
Fall is definitely here and the leaves have fallen!
I can't wait to have some hot apple cider tonight and curl up with a blanket and book.

I created some simple leaves for the background... in all the colors of fall.

Here is the desktop version!
Just click here...download and save.

I have been working on more of the Kitty cat's with balloons monthly designs....
Here is...
November is all about Thanksgiving Turkey, bountiful harvests, acorns and crisp leaves on the ground.
Stitch up this quick design that features a sweet cat that loves
celebrating with a balloon.
Make it up in a cute pillow adorned with easy to make felt & wool flowers.

December is all about
decorating the Christmas Tree, making presents, hanging the holly and being with family.

I will have all the months of the year done soon!  Each month reflects that time of year.

-----------------------------------------------------------------
My daughter Selina made a new video...showing how easy it is to use her hexie shape and some great fabric to make a sweet pendant or key chain.
I have this hooked to my Sally purse...
so coordinated!
Here is the easy and quick video.....take a peak at it!
In the video she is showing sally from the nightmare before Christmas.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
We had a great time at the WSQ Washington state quilt show....2019!
We had our usual double booth and we even did a demonstration and slide show on embroidery basics.
I was scared because....I am pretty shy, but I did it!
It is always fun to see everyone...its like old friends coming for a visit!
We had some different props this year like our pink chair....perfect for my quilt and Dresden plate kitty pillow.

Selina had her wood laser cut pendant shapes....just right for embroidery or unique fabric scraps.

I brought my latest patterns and some old favorites.
I kept 5 totes of samples at home....boy do I have alot!
It just can't all fit anymore.
I love the pink of all the valentines!
My snowmen were popular and my new Christmas pin cushions or pinnies.

They all sold out....they were so cute!

I have so much Halloween...I love the vintage feel.
I have five of the 12 monthly cat balloon patterns done...7 more to go.

Selina had her new jars shapes...one of my favorites.
Her needle minders are always a top seller.
We had a great time and now we can concentrate on new projects.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I have been learning how to work with pastels this past summer...I think I love the blendablity the most.
Let me show you alittle about my process....

First I sketch a basic design.
I add white for the face and add in some color on the cheeks, eyes and nose....
I do sections at a time.
I use a small blender tool which looks like a rubber eraser...to blend the colors.

The more I work with it and then add pencil for detail...the more it starts to take shape.
This one is supposed to be me as a child....I am a big animal lover.

On this one....I sketched out a simple pilgrim girl and added color.
I love her!

Christmas village & quilt show

Hey everyone!
I have been very busy lately....I bet you have been too!
Up above is a Christmas painting....kind of Grandma Moses style....that I recently painted.
See the snowmen waving to each other.
In the center of the painting is the Christmas tree, my favorite part.
I like to have a child like quality in my paintings.
This little red house is decked with lights and a wreath!
Here is how I start out my paintings....covering the canvas with old papers and gesso.
I then pencil in the basic features I will be painting.
I added trees
and then added the house
I try to leave some paper uncovered....I got quite carried away with paint though.
I added rock driveways and paths.
The moon is glowing...and I just keep adding layer after layer.
The process is fun and I just work on other areas of the painting while some of it dries...
it is such fun.

Here are some pics from my booth at the WSQ Quilt show...which was last weekend!
You know I love Halloween!
I had a big double booth...which was awesome!
Here is a shot of the whole booth from the far corner.
She had lots of finished rings and earrings.
My mannequin was all dolled up in halloween...People loved the big corsages.
Selina's needle minders are  always a big hit...they make great gifts.
which are featured in the current Winter 2019 Quilts and more magazine!
They designed a few free designs to go with her products!   Check out the magazine at news stands now.
I am so proud of her!
My valentines....so cheerful!
My Thanksgiving ornaments....I love them.
Everyone enjoys this ghost....he has been handled a lot...he is hanging with the willow tree.
I got this rotating display at a thrift store recently....very happy with it.
We got out banner from vista print...I designed it and downloaded it on vista print...very easy and pretty cheap.
I really cram as many samples as I can into my booth.
Selina made some new key chains for Quilters.
My coloring calendars for 2019...with crayons...and my fabric!
The embroidery dolls with their mini quilts and my new wool treat boxes....
We had great fun, it was my best show ever.....and I loved talking to all the customers and new friends.
