Shine bright...freebie embroidery design

I love glitter!
This is my freebie this week..."Shine Bright".
I stitched it using a darker pink floss and added seed beads on the dot areas.
It fits perfectly in my daughter Selina's hexie pendant blank.
Selina has all kinds of wooden pendant blanks and more in her etsy shop and on her website.

I added glitter to this...just some glue and pink glitter....the picture didn't show off the glitter has cute as it really is though.
Copy and save...
This is her hexie 3 pack....and it comes with this bunny design.
She also has tons of other packs!

We share a studio...so I just walk right on over to her stash and choose what I want...I am spoiled!

Time for another sale pattern of the week!!!
It's only $2.99...this week only ..until next friday.
These are great to use up those small scraps of wool that you just can't throw away!
My favorite is the large pumpkin face.

Christmas angels and snowmen

I sewed and painted a few dolls recently...
they were very fun and addicting to make.
I rarely make dolls to sell...but I did put these on etsy!
There are snwomen...
She is machine free motion stitched...she is hand painted. She has a vintage lace flower in her hair with velvet leaf. The angel is stamped, distressed and glittered. She had fancy trims and funny legs.
Come see them in my etsy shop!

Goodies....all about the house

I had a blast at the craft shows this weekend!
I even made it to the goodwill Christmas sale too....which I will blog about later.
Above is a cool Seahorse and Sea fairy I got from my pal Sue...she makes the most detailed and lovely dolls!
I could never make these pieces of art...everything she makes is so well done.
I got a cool monster guy and eyeball ornie from Karene.
Isn't this so unusual!
I will have to get my other items (which were Christmas decos) out for another day...and take pics.
This is my Christmas mood board...inspiring me for my Christmas illustrations and repeat patterns I am working on.  This mood board is just an old wood frame painted white...and string is stapled to the back...and I use clothes pins to hang up whatever I want!
Look at the cute coloring book!
I love retro ornaments and bright colors!
Seems like old Christmas cards always had glitter and candles on them.
Cool forest...the trees are pink, blue and green...I want to be there!
I got some fun fabric...charm squares...like candy!
Tula pink...Rich and vibrant colors!
Simple posies!
Sweet colors packs that work so well together!
I love the lace and flowers!
Wild Christmas fabric...I can't wait to work on all of these!

Gotta get working and stop playing around!!!
Happy Monday to you!!!

Easy peasy quilt needle case tutorial

Isn't this the cutest needle case ever?!!
It is super easy to make...great for using an old quilt that is beyond repair.
Inside is where you nestle your needles.
All you need is a piece of felt and a piece/scrap of an old quilt.

Just put the felt on top of the wrong side of you quilt scrap.

Fold in half and pin in place.
Sew along edge...5/8" away from fold.

Add scrunched seam binding (in a bow)....an old earring or other embellishment.
I also added a banner saying "Sweet".  For that take a small scrap of fabric....mine is a pink scrap.
Stamp the saying using a small stamp set.
Run clear tacky glue along edges of banner and sprinkle iridescent glitter on it.  Let dry.
Hot glue embellishments on.
Sooooo easy!!!

These would be great for gifts to your crafty friends or for craft shows!!

What the peep?

Ok...I promise I am not getting vulgar!
Just having some fun...Easter is coming...lol.
I love the look of peeps and the marshmallow smells so good.  I just don't like biting into the sugar.
Well...I am not really going to talk about Easter....
I want to share with you some little bits of art I have been doing.
I have been playing around with lettering.
I need a lot of work, but practice always helps.
Here are some atc cards (they are white cardstock pieces of paper the size of a playing card)  I did...first the lettering on a card...just using a black sharpie.
Then I watercolored it...very simply I might add.
I was enjoying the painting alot.
Here is what is looked like before.
Just me goofing around.
There are globs of ink and letters that look goofy....but I was trying to let myself just play around.
Isn't this funny!
I love it!
I love this one....believe it sooo much!
If you can't be nice, then either I am leaving or the pest is!! lol
I watercolored it with some favorite colors....then I added a border using the free photo editor
I love pink also....my digital sign"Everything is better in pink" sells constantly on Etsy...I think there are alot of pink lovers out there!
I added pink watercolor...which I had to make mixing red and white together since I didn't have it in my watercolors.
I think you should try making some of these to.
Take a favorite saying....write it on a atc card using a black sharpie...then watercolor.
It doesn't matter if something didn't turn out...you an always throw it out if you hate it.

Play alittle today!!

Happy Presidents day...sneaky peak

I thought you might enjoy seeing this vintage ad in one of my old magazines...
for Wheatena.
I love the presidential theme.
Remember when back in grade school they would put pictures in as a replacement for a word...like Washington's picture replacing his name.  Maybe it was kindergarten?
My daughter and I plan to go for a walk soon...the sun in shining,,,,,blue skies...just gorgeous!

Here is a sneaky peak of my next pattern...
I am thinking fairies!!!
My mom totally believed she could catch fairies in the woods
she looked under mushrooms and everything!
I would have loved to have seen that!

Have a fun day!
