Easy peasy quilt needle case tutorial

Isn't this the cutest needle case ever?!!
It is super easy to make...great for using an old quilt that is beyond repair.
Inside is where you nestle your needles.
All you need is a piece of felt and a piece/scrap of an old quilt.

Just put the felt on top of the wrong side of you quilt scrap.

Fold in half and pin in place.
Sew along edge...5/8" away from fold.

Add scrunched seam binding (in a bow)....an old earring or other embellishment.
I also added a banner saying "Sweet".  For that take a small scrap of fabric....mine is a pink scrap.
Stamp the saying using a small stamp set.
Run clear tacky glue along edges of banner and sprinkle iridescent glitter on it.  Let dry.
Hot glue embellishments on.
Sooooo easy!!!

These would be great for gifts to your crafty friends or for craft shows!!

Sweet Mini mannequin pincushions

I had fun sewing last Saturday...with a group of sweet ladies.
I sewed up some cool party hats, large mannequins and
I made some mini mannequins....
This rose mannequin in my Mrstiddlemouse etsy Shop.
I love the floral fabric and the doily apron.  It has the cutest banner pin that says "Love".
They measure: 8" high...2 3/4" wide.
I love the fabric....tape measuring sticks.  I added a lock to the waist.
I have made a lot of these the past few years....they are fun create since I have so much fabric (like you) and it is like playing dress up.

These mini mannequins are fun to make and are so adorable. The tomato pincushions are so quick and fit onto your spool of thread.
Both designs take only scraps and make great gifts!

These pincushions are so easy too! What a useful tool to have by your side because they are small and easily accessible.
The mannequin and tomato make great gifts, friendship swaps,
and fabulous sellers at craft shows.

Every ending...

There is a slight chill in the air....and I LOVE it.
I have been hot all summer long.
I thought this sunflower would be nice....it reminds me of our fair...which is happening right now.
Our fair is quite big and lasts from today ...until next weekend on Sunday.
I really love the smell of the agricultural building...all those home grown plants and veggies.
I do not love the animal buildings smell....there are endless buildings of farm animals.

This little kitty is giving Sweets to the sweet. There is a heart pouch to fill with goodies for your Valentine. What a fast, easy, and fun design to make. How fun would this be to receive on Valentine's Day?

This little baby is holding a flower heart.

This is the heart pouch ...I bought heart suckers at walmart...only a dollar for a bouquet of them.

Finished design measures: 9 3/4" x 7".
Embroidery design: 3 7/8" x 5 3/8".

I also want to show you another mini mannequin....it is on Etsy.  It is the finished product. I made this a week or so ago when I made the Valentine mannequin that has sold.
This one is colorful and fun.
What a sweet sewing room treasure...a small dressform to keep you pins and thread handy.
This is a one of a kind!
This is the perfect size of pincushion to have near your sewing machine or on your side/coffee table while you work on projects.
Mannequin with stand: 3"(at shoulders) x 8 5/8" tall.
It comes with pins, white buttons around neck like a necklace , sweet tulle skirt, "Sweet" banner pin, blue thread, and a bright cheerful pom poms filled stand. The ribbons are pink scrunched seam binding and pink glittery yarn. The fabric I used is the sweetest pins fabric...a white background....with pins that have colorful heads.

Here is the back of the mannequin.
I design the pattern for this....it is on my etsy too...called Mini mannequin pattern

I have to end with a great quote:

Stuff in my studio

Hy Everyone...I hope your weather is better than ours!!!  Our forecast is ....RAIN....FOREVER!
I thought I would show you some little things around my studio....for fun!
This is my paper rosette...life is good...it is on a memory board I made.

Here is Marilyn Monroe.....she is hanging around....I have a butterfly magnet holding her in place.  What a beauty she was! One of my favorite movies is "Some like it hot".    It is funny.

FUN is hoop art....it is just letters spelling fun on retro dot fabric....I added a pink pom-pom.

I used to watercolor raggedy Ann dolls alot....this is me and my sis....drinking milkshakes.

I like decorating an old can to make a sweet pencil holder...in this case I have sticks...I know I am weird...but I often need a stick when crafting.  I got this cute graphic from Etsy...Lisa's altered art..check her esty shop!

Here is my Grandma Shirley.....who I was named after.  She was an award winning quilter....I have some of her quilts....so glad I have them,  She also did ceramics and was a great baker.  She was born in 1905.  She was 62 when I was born.  She loved her senor's center.  She got Alzheimer's and passed away in 1992....she gave me my wedding quilt early....because she knew I would get married.
Banners!  Made from old music pages....they are fun to stick in a bouquet of flowers.

I love my little catch all plate.  This is a pin that says "Got love"...the girl comes out of the heart pocket.

My Selina...when she was in grade school....now she is in her last year of middle school.   She and her daddy are everything to me.

This is "Flo" my mannequin....Selina dressed her up in this outfit...pretty cute!  She is by the stairs....to greet me each morning!
