Yarn kitty doll and party hats!

Say hello to my wild cat...yarn doll!
I recently got an elf ornament at an antique store....
and wanted to make my own.
But I didn't know how.
So I looked on Pinterest and found a great website...Krokotak.com
It is specifically here!
This diagram was handy.
I added a felt kitty face with a little embroidery....paws (pink paint for pads), tail and center heart.
I choose some yarn I had ...a multi color soft yarn.
I think you could add any face...clothes...shoes...to make it different.
I may need to make it in Valentine colors...I will show you if I get it done soon.
--------------------------------
I recently went to a party after Christmas but before New Years...my daughter and I needed something fun to wear...so I whipped these up...using my festive party hat pattern.
This was Selina's....she loves bright girly colors.
For the trims I used: yarn, scrunched seam binding, tulle, fabric scraps, and strings!
For the banner I just stamped out a saying on white muslin...Party girl.  Then I cut it into banner shapes...added glue around the edges and dipped it in glitter. I then hot glued them on the front of the hat.
Here is my hat....I chose a vintage scrap of fabric for the main part....then picked all these crazy matching trims.
We can use these hats for any party occasion now!
They are light, extremely comfortable, & clip on snugly. No longer do you have to have a strap or headband to have your lil party hat stay on.
My pattern comes with printable banners :
Happy New Year's, Happy Valentine's day, Happy St. Patrick's Day, Happy Easter, Happy Mother's Day, Happy Father's Day, Congrats Grad!, Happy 4th of July, Happy Halloween, Merry Christmas, Bride, Groom, Happy Birthday, Over the Hill, Happy anniversary, Give Thanks, Party Girl, Happy Holidays, Life is good!, and Let them eat Cake.
Here is one I made in the past...
Smarty pants!
This one cracked me up!

Try and stay cozy...
our weather is extremely cold...we are embroidering, sewing, and doing computer illustration.
We are avoiding going out and about!

A thrifting we will go....

I had a terrific time this weekend thrifting with some fun friends!
We hit many thrift stores and an antique store....ate at the milk bottle restaurant and then went to one of our homes to craft...chit chat and eat brownies!  It was very fun!
I wanted to show you my goodies I got.  Above is a cute fake bird feeder...over a foot tall...$1.99.
This is a large pink mirror with handy knobs...love this...4.99

Really heavy bird feeder...2.99
We went to many shops over the course of the day.

This is the two women antique stores display...so lovely.

So darned valentiney...loved it

They have a great knack for displaying
I got a queenly old valentine
My favorite thing is this kid's magazine from 1934.
These are some of the fun pages inside.
The drawings are so sweet and tender
I just love these guys....terrific!
You can't go wrong with paper dolls!
Goody goody tales...lol.
This was a whole quarter....a vintage book on solitaire...
perfect for mixed media art.
Tulle in pinks and green...I always can use tulle.
yay...Halloween fabric!
An old America book...1915
I love this statue of liberty print inside.
I am very patriotic.
Pretty music...I could take pic after picture to show you....
I better just stop and finish by saying....we set up another date to all get together for more thrifting!

Pumpkins pumpkins in a row....

I am so excited....Halloween is coming and it is time to....
DECORATE!!!
Yay....I love to get my house all spooky, lit up, and smelling like pumpkin spice!
This is my newest pattern:
Pumpkins... pumpkins in a row, light the night with an eerie glow!
I hid some goodies inside the box.....now sitting on my desk for when I want a snack.
Light up your Halloween with this sweet treat container! Make these adorable pumpkins from wool or felt...so easy and fast. Hide your treats in the box....or make this into an adorable sewing supply box, make the pumpkins your pincushion!

The pumpkins would also make a great ornament too.
Fun and easy for craft show!
I love making banners!
This makes a great display & a fun gift!
Design measures: 9" tall x 10" wide

Now I am going to decorate my home before my daughter and hubby get home....
it is fun yet I don't want to be distracted...because I have a lot of stuff....yikes!

Frames....so many uses....

I want to tell you some fabulous news!
I am on the Deflecto ambassador design team!

Deflecto provides all your solutions to stay organized so you can concentrate on your projects not your clutter.

This month is all about "Frame it Up"!

Deflecto's frames are sturdy, versatile, acrylic and can be used in many different ways!
I just thought I would post a few of my first designs with these beautiful frames. This one is my Raggedy Ann watercolor painting in the green 5" x 7" frame.
I added a little scrap of fabric to the lower corner with an even tinier scrap of muslin with the word "Cutie" stamped on it. The scraps are sewn together and then glued on.
I love frames because a lot of what I do involves frames....like my digital signs I make and sell on etsy. This is my "Home of the free because of the brave" sign in the stand alone frame.
I added some tulle rosettes and a small paper banner to the bottom.
Here is my Halloween watercolor of a scarecrow. This is in the purple 5" x 7" frame.

I added my flash card (I design flash cards too) that says "Scarecrow" and also added fall leaves. So easy.
This is my mom (she's has been gone almost 17 years now) and I thought she would look great in the black 5" x 7" frame.....sort of retro. Her pic was taken back in the 50's.
I punched out some scalloped circles, stamped the letters for mom on them and then glued them onto a pennant shape made from pretty paper. I glued them onto ribbon and then attached to the frame
Here is my daughter Selina's Photography....a beautiful Sunflower.
We put this in the 8 1/2" x 11" frame with pink border.....love Pink!

I added raffia around the frame and a sweet tag saying "This is the life!"
I will showcase some more ideas in a few days....I am having too much fun!

Sweet Mini mannequin pincushions

I had fun sewing last Saturday...with a group of sweet ladies.
I sewed up some cool party hats, large mannequins and
I made some mini mannequins....
This rose mannequin in my Mrstiddlemouse etsy Shop.
I love the floral fabric and the doily apron.  It has the cutest banner pin that says "Love".
They measure: 8" high...2 3/4" wide.
I love the fabric....tape measuring sticks.  I added a lock to the waist.
I have made a lot of these the past few years....they are fun create since I have so much fabric (like you) and it is like playing dress up.

These mini mannequins are fun to make and are so adorable. The tomato pincushions are so quick and fit onto your spool of thread.
Both designs take only scraps and make great gifts!

These pincushions are so easy too! What a useful tool to have by your side because they are small and easily accessible.
The mannequin and tomato make great gifts, friendship swaps,
and fabulous sellers at craft shows.

Something to think about....

Yarn, strings, & streamers

Happy Tuesday to you!
I wanted to share pics of my studio with you...It will take a while...but today I am showing you my yarn, strings, & streamers.
I love collecting these items....I do not crochet....simply because I never know what to do at the end of a row...lol.
I use these items to craft with though.
Here I have a child's shopping cart that I spray painted gold.
It was at a thrift store...all rusty and dirty.
The white cart is a plant stand....goodwill.
I love to store my yarns there.

I use these with tags, adding to quilts and stitcheries, on presents, as pieces of any collage, and doll hair.

Here is my cute drying rack...I use it to hold my baskets of goodies!
This way I can see pretty easily what I need.
Most every item comes from a thrift store....I do not need more than one of each since I am not crocheting or knitting.

I have every color of party streamer there is....they make great badges.(I have made patterns for every badge possible).  Party streamers are so cheap and I feel they are so underestimated in crafting.
Christmas Santa Art Badges E Pattern - Pins doll PDF jewelry old photos ribbon paper crepe star primitive altered art party
My badges...here is one of the Christmas ones.

I love the stringy glittery kind on yarn!

At the top of my rack are spools of ribbon, yarn in the wire vase, and thread.
Wow, my fan is looking like it just might fly away.
I got those lights in the background in the summer....for my birthday.

Red ribbon ...ready for Christmas,Valentines day, and the Fourth of July.

I don't need any more...no place to put it!

This is by my Sewing area....threads...and my spools of tulle.
I LOVE Tulle.
Great for my party hats and lots of other crafting goodness.
