Mother's day freebie!

Happy Mother's day to all you moms out there!
I can't wait to see what my daughter made me...I think it will be something on her laser machine.
My mom has been gone 18 1/2 years!  My only baby was just 20 days old when she passed...I believe she willed herself to stay alive to see her!
My mother in law passed away this past year...she was a real gentle soul.

Maybe you could stitch this up quickly for mother's day....it would be a sweet gift!

*Please note that all freebies are for you to use to make a couple finished goods (no mass producing) and a couple gifts...they are still legally my designs.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------

So my $5.99 child's hutch started out like this....
scruffy yet not bad....
Now...It looks like this!
I sanded it, painted it with blue chalk paint, sanded it a little again and then put some wax medium over it.
It is now perfect for my studio to hold goodies or for display at quilt shows.
It has a lower cabinet area too.
I really had fun redoing this project.
Next I want to work on a few things outside....garden related.
I had to show you my dragon in my studio...he is about to pick up the block that says..."Keep calm and carry on".
There are some days you just can't keep very calm.
These are my lil violets...I had a ton of spider plant starts that I am using for spikes in my pots.
I found this old rusty tool box on my property...so I made it into a planter...so sweet!
This is my enemy...
the very healthy Dandelion...
He tries to ruin my spring every year.
Here is a Sneaky Peak of my next design....stay tuned!
Froy....says to have a Happy Weekend!!!
He also recommends laying in the grass a while.

British suitcase makeover

My daughter Selina made over an old suitcase of my grandmother's.
It started as the old Samsonite type case below.
She loves duck tape....as you know....she has made dresses, backpacks, wallets, flowers...etc.
She covered it first with silver tape  and then used her British tape....like the flag.
So now it looks terrific and she can't wait to use it on a trip and camping.
She even made some compartments for inside the suitase.
She always likes to stand out and be unique.
She has some new photos in her Etsy shop....
This cool typewriter....closeup on the keys.
Pink flowers....from my sister's garden...
She just passed Driver's ed and only has the driving part to complete to get her license.
This is Selina (prom pic).
She looked like a princess!

Colonial dolls & close ups

These are the sweetest colonial dolls....very vintage.
I love the details and the faces are priceless.
I love the innocent looks and the outfits are so cool.
They would be so cute colored with crayons!
-----------------------------
Sometimes I like to take close ups of my projects...for better detail.
This is "Sweets for the sweet"....I suggest in my pattern to make it into this pillow....but you certainly don't have to ...this would be sweet framed.
"It's time to be Valentines"....colors listed are only suggestions...sometimes it is fun to choose your own colors.
I like to add glitz to embroidery by adding beads.....like on this
Lots of my patterns tell how to have a shaded effect...
Like this "You are sew special to me" pattern
Even adding a hemp bow can add interest to a design...
Adding embellishments really add to your projects...like a banner, beads, and glitter trim...

Hope you create something fun today!

Bunny Sneaky peaky...plus other goodies

Hey...the sun is shining and the weather is much nicer....maybe Spring is coming!
Above is a sneaky peak of my newest design!
It will be available very soon as a pattern.
It is super easy and fun!
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
I wanted to share this lovey Irish postcard.....
If you don't know about the Graphic Fairy....
A wonderful site with FREE images....
you have to check it out.
There are so many good images and she is sooo generous to make these available!
----------------------------------------------------------------
I wanted to share my latest Mannequin I made up to sell.
Isn't the fabric cute!
I believe I got it at Joann's.

You really can make any style of mannequin...from prim...to modern
from girly to graphic,
from a sewing theme...to steampunk.
Just by changing the fabric, accessories, trims, and colors....they are all different.
In this one I added an old measuring tape...scissors charm, a half of a round doily...and made the pin read "Quilter".

Tomorrow I will share how I change up the stands...
For instance....I made a glass candle stick look like old leather.....check back to see.
