Halloween Pumpkin yarn Dream catchers

Isn't this cute?
I love making easy peasy crafts...that turn out pretty darned adorable!
These halloween dream catchers....wave in the wind of a nearby tree...spooky, but too cute~
I made these yarn dream catchers  above in May and put them on my blog...
They are still looking fab!
So I thought I could take the same idea and make halloween pumpkins!
I gathered up the usual suspects.....lol...
yarns, strings, embroidery hoops (any size or sizes), glue, felt...
They are simply made by wrapping yarn around the middle (inside) hoop....you put the outer  embroidery hoop aside for now.
Hold your beginning end in place or glue it down, and once another piece wraps around it then it stays in place.  If you just wrap the yarn around the hoop and and move the yarn slightly each time, then everything will stay in place.
I have had this orange yarn for a while...just waiting for a project.
Sometimes you just have a left over skein or ball of yarn...perfect for wrapping around a hoop.
Wrap, wrap, wrap until you like the fullness of it.
Then place your outer hoop around it and tighten.
I cut out some felt eyes, nose and mouth....
and here is one of the faces.
I added alittle white felt for highlights in eyes.
I think hot gluing the face on is best.
This is the tiny guy...love the funny teeth.
They are fun and silly....
At the bottom is just some long string tied on or looped through the hoop.
These took no time at all!
I added a string to tie them into the trees.
The wind will make them float around.
This is a big 12" hoop.
Any size is fun...
I often get embroidery hoops at thrifts stores and garage sales.
They are so cheap and then so is the yarn and felt.

Pretty string & yarn hoop art.

Did you have a good holiday?
I didn't real do anything "Special"...just tasks around the house, helping out my dad, hanging outside and enjoying the weather.
But I did have fun making these super easy string hoop art.
You have probably seen them before....but trust me...making them is so fun and when you see them swaying in your trees...it is magical.
I have lots of different supplies in my studio...I bet you do too.
I don't crochet...but this yarn from a thrift store really called out to me.
I gathered up a couple embroidery hoops, lace, strings, yarn and ribbon.

i just started winding the yarn around the inner hoop...like you would to roll up a skein of yarn into a ball.
Keep winding...more... until you like what it looks like.
Then put on the outer hoop (you could add glue to the inner edge to make even sturdier).  Tighten your screw on the hoop as far as you can.

Tie on lengths of ribbon, yarn, string and lace....on the bottom part of the hoop.

First one turned out so sweet!

Guess what...I had to do another one!
This time with some yarn that had some texture in it.

This hoop was much larger.

Lastly I gathered up a pastel variegated yarn and made the smallest one.

These hang easily from the trees...and gently sway with a breeze.

This is such an inexpensive way to add some sweetness to your yard.

Now I am going to keep them in my courtyard just outside my studio.
I think kids would really like to do this as a summer project.

Plus...these would look fabulous as decor at a country wedding.

I may have to make some for my big big trees in my backyard too.

Hope you try some!

Quilt show- 2015

This year's quilt show is finished... it was a wonderful weekend!
My booth was absolutely packed!
all my new designs were there plus my most popular from the past.
I want to thank everyone who dropped in to say hi...it is always a treat.
It was fun talking to everyone and sharing.
My mouse always gets attention...he is a favorite.
I brought my child's cabinets for display...loved using them.
There was cute-si-poo... everywhere.
I love having a corner booth!
Halloween was the best sellers.
It is so easy to decorate this section.
Pumpkin pin keep....he is watching....
The snowman were sweet and I loved using the tape measuring trim on them.
Some people like the new things and some people loved my oldest designs....you just never know!
I am always happy with this show...it is a blessing.
Valentine magic.
It is hard work to make this little store for a 3 day show.
You have to pin up high and low...every inch is important.
I never had a chance to see most of the quilts on display... wish I had seen them.
This gingerbread stuck into the St. Patrick's day section!
My mannequin displayed the embroidery pendants.
Here is a wide shot of the booth....
another year done....next year will be fun too!

I was going to wait for Halloween to show you but I couldn't wait!
OMG....these are spooky....creepy!
This one has a hairdo like my sister when she wakes up....lol
She is cute though
This one has TEETH
This would have scared me to death as a child.
Ok...this one seems to have hairs on its scalp....yikes
Interesting pic...right?
This one could star in its own scary movie!
There is teeth in this hole....geez
I saved the scariest for last....talk about eye ball troubles.
I don't know what I am going to do with these...but I figured I could have some fun with them.
