Halloween Pumpkin yarn Dream catchers
Isn't this cute?
I love making easy peasy crafts...that turn out pretty darned adorable!
These halloween dream catchers....wave in the wind of a nearby tree...spooky, but too cute~
I made these yarn dream catchers above in May and put them on my blog...
They are still looking fab!
So I thought I could take the same idea and make halloween pumpkins!
I gathered up the usual suspects.....lol...
yarns, strings, embroidery hoops (any size or sizes), glue, felt...
They are simply made by wrapping yarn around the middle (inside) hoop....you put the outer embroidery hoop aside for now.
Hold your beginning end in place or glue it down, and once another piece wraps around it then it stays in place. If you just wrap the yarn around the hoop and and move the yarn slightly each time, then everything will stay in place.
I have had this orange yarn for a while...just waiting for a project.
Sometimes you just have a left over skein or ball of yarn...perfect for wrapping around a hoop.
Wrap, wrap, wrap until you like the fullness of it.
Then place your outer hoop around it and tighten.
I cut out some felt eyes, nose and mouth....
and here is one of the faces.
I added alittle white felt for highlights in eyes.
I think hot gluing the face on is best.
This is the tiny guy...love the funny teeth.
They are fun and silly....
At the bottom is just some long string tied on or looped through the hoop.
These took no time at all!
I added a string to tie them into the trees.
The wind will make them float around.
This is a big 12" hoop.
Any size is fun...
I often get embroidery hoops at thrifts stores and garage sales.
They are so cheap and then so is the yarn and felt.

A little more of my studio
Hi!
I took so many pics of my studio....and I felt my last post was pretty darned long....so I thought I would show some more photos of my studio.
Above is a huge hoop...for quilting. I put retro fabric in it and made flash cards with my name and glued it on.
Makes a great booth sign...for quilt and craft shows.
Here is a mix of ribbons, paper, and artwork. Seems like I am always needing a little string or ribbon for something....so I dig in here.
I keep my not so cute pastes, mediums, and all in this wooden yellow box....then I can pick it all up when I need to for more desk space.
I like to fill muffin tins and loaf pans with punched out papers and bits of ephemera.
My old army file...sold wood and as heavy as a coffin (full).
I like to keep special old magazines, paper patterns, plastic bags for selling, and business files in it.
On the left side is a table I use for my cricut.
I have had this print since I was little...the mouse card is a birthday card my mom gave me...a few years before she died....it is a treasure.
Glue gun.....oh how I love thee!
I stick my glue sticks in a gravy boat.
I always use this non stick mat under it...cleans up really easily.
I made this big mannequin bust many years ago. She reins over my cutting table.
My Christmas ornaments fit nicely on this wire tree...great for quilt show displays.
They are going to be in a wonderful magazine....in the fall...details later.
I love this map banner....and I also love my black velvet head from a thrift store(it was scruffy and just needed a black paint touch up job).
Sometimes I am not sure why I keep so much stuff!
I have a thing for chenille stems/pipe cleaners.....I just love them and the endless possibilities.
I also keep a box of UFO's .....Un Finished Objects.
I like collecting old sewing books....love the diagrams and how things have changed soooo much.
Here is a tall small drawer set....each drawer is just the right size for treasures...like pearl beads, charms, black eye beads.....etc..
This tall shelf holds my cool tag from Lynn Whipple...called a big idea....I won it!
It also has my big eyed Marie Antoinette painting.
To the top left is my pink American flag...just for fun!
I got these little bundles by the embroidery floss at the store....I can't wait to use them...but for now they are busy being cute in this bowl!
See my post before this to see more of my studio.

Fun letters to collage with.... freebie
Sometimes I love adding my own words to something....like this calendar I had.
It was a trucking calendar that was so ugly....I had to change it to Marie Antoinette.
I always refer to my collage letters I made....and I keep many sheets handy for projects.
It is fun to print, cut out and glue! It is an easy way to add to your artwork.
Use cream or white cardstock.
I thought a variety would be nice....different fonts and sizes.
Click here for the 2 page alphabet letters freebie.
To use in your art projects...just save, print and cut and use.

The secret to having it all is knowing you already do!
Come to the Pin me linky party, the Party Bunch, Thrifty Thursday, and Artsy- Fartsy mama!

Sewing space
Today I wanted to share my actual sewing space.
I have a large studio....I was lucky enough to have a huge building next to my house to make into my studio.
Inside are many working stations ...like the photography area, mailing/packaging, computer/printer, sewing cutting table...etc..
I have an area for all my creating.
On the right side of the above picture would be my ironing board...but it was cut out of the pic.
I have a small blue cutting table for quick cuts.
When I sew large items like quilts I have to clear out the table better.
I am a clutter kind of gal....can't help it!
I love having all these things nearby.
In an old pink Tupperware organizer is my stamped words....ready to attach to something...anything.
I have a blue shelf full of buttons and stuff.....jars full of threads and lil sewing gadgets.
pincushions and my atc artwork.
scrappy raggedy Ann with a needle felted candy cane.
I hang lots of thread on the pegboard with huge glittery pompoms and art.
I love me some tulle!
It is so cheap yet so many things can be done with it.
I have to keep all these sewing do dads right by....all the sewing machine feet, bobbin, and pins.
I realized that I have to keep my hot glue gun close by.
I have a tart warmer....which makes the studio smell divine...otherwise it tends to smell like a garage. (this was a paint and body shop)
There are two large rooms....one is my studio and the back room is lots of storage.
Can you see the fabric strip banner on the shelf....so easy taking scraps and bits of fabric and sewing them on one by one....which is faster than you think.
Orange buttons....because I love Halloween
I crack up when I find jars like this Best foods (which is my favorite)...knowing it was long ago used to store yummy mayonnaise.
I have too much stuff!
Here are vintage quilt blocks with a needlefelted pumpkin pincushion.
In the back is a tag my daughter made for me!
I will have to show you each section....one at a time....it will be fun.

Label your whole creative space....

These are my NEW studio or sewing room supply tags.....they are a companion set to other tags I have made for organizing your space.
This is a SET OF 12 TAGS, that I created (2 collage sheets- 6 tags on each page). These are fabulous for your sewing room or studio! You print and cut out, sooooo easy. These have a vintage look.
There are the following: Lace, Ribbon, Elastic, Yarn, Trims, Templates, Beads, Glue, Paper punches, Ephemera, Embroidery floss, and Bobbins. They measure: 2 7/16" x 4 3/4".
Perfect for labeling all your stuff!
You can use them over and over... just print on WHITE cardstock or matte photo paper when you need them, this is a digital offering.
Great for plastic tubs and boxes.
It's fun to have a cohesive look as well.

Both of these sets pretty much cover all the labeling you need in your sewing room
I also have some (below)for organizing your storage boxes......like holidays decor....

These tags make your storage boxes extra nice. I printed out three sets of these for all my tubs.

I also have some for organizing around the house.
I like being able to glance at a label and know exactly where things are,
Life is too short to hunt down everything.
Come to the party bunch and the pin me linky party
