It's the last month of full summertime.
It's so hot here in the PNW that it is hard to enjoy it.
Thank goodness for air conditioning and fans!
We have been kayaking for fun and peacefulness... but staying in a lot too.

Above is the phone/tablet calendar for august...click here for the download.

My daughter Selina and I got into rug tufting this past month. We saw a tiktok video and you tube videos too....that were fun and fascinating. It's the super fast way to make rugs....

We bought a frame kit (Amazon)and put it together....it has strips of nails on all sides to hold rug tufting fabric to the frame.   It is as tight as a drum. You mark your design on the cloth.  We used a projector and a sharpie pen.

Here is a close up.

We outlined the shape with black yarn.

Here is a shot of the rug tufting gun.....it is like a sewing machine in a way....just poke it in the fabric, pull trigger and tuft upwards.

Any yarn can be used. It cuts the yarn for you.

Here is the back, which is the right side.  After....you can shave and trim it.  Also you seal the back with rug glue.

We had a helper...Davy!

We had a wonderful bridal shower for Selina....she is getting married in September!
I am so excited!
Maybe I will be a grand-mother some day!

This picture was from my first book signing.

I have another one soon!

It's been a rough past month... with my father having some hospital stays and I was sick too....but I'm hoping things will be more calm this month.

Enjoy the rest of summer!

Happy Go Lucky!!

I am feeling happy go lucky...
I love all the green of St. Patrick's day...so pretty.
This year St. Patrick's day is a whole month apart from Easter...which I love because I then can decorate for each and have time to enjoy both.  Some years the two holidays are super close to each other.
I made up a new banner...featuring my little paintings and some repeating pattern designs I made using illustrator.  It is in my etsy shop.
The banner can be any length. Each collage sheet has 12 flags....you could print as many as you need....to make any length. Each little flag measures: 3 3/4" x 1 9/16".

I just glue (hotglue) the tops of the each flag to a length of bakers twine.
They are easy and fast...kids could do this too....I would just recommend tacky glue instead.
I have these banners in all kinds of other holidays and everyday too.

I retook some pics for some older tags I made...
sometimes I have to do that to update...plus my skills have grown throughout the years...thankfully!
I do love using my old photo collection for these!
Somehow the old photos really work well with Irish tags and labels...they fit!
These are fun on green glassware and hanging on knobs.
This cracks me up!
Naughty of me!

This is a cool shamrock I made using my repeating patterns I did in adobe illustrator.
I love to keep learning and making...I feel like a kid when I create!

I went to the grocery store....the displays are amazing...
My phone took this pic!
I love the color purple.
These radishes make me really want spring...
but around here it still looks like Siberia!
Boo!
Here's hoping the snow melts soon!

2017 is coming!!!

Wow...another year...came and is now leaving soon!
Seems like time flies by so fast and I wish it would slow down a bit.
There are two sizes!!! There are two printable sheets of artwork...you can print however many you need to make the length you need. I illustrated all the artwork...it all matches...with a pretty colorful pastel palette.
The large banner flag measures: 3 1/8" x 4 1/4".
The smaller banner flag measures: 1 15/16" x 2 5/8".
There are five designs of banner flags: Auld lang syne, 2017 here we come, Cheers on a clock, Happy new year and Celebrate.
These banners would be sweet in your home, office space at work, and on a tree like a garland!
You just print, cut out and glue to bakers twine. Very easy and QUICK!  It is only $3.99.
I also made a new pattern design called Welcome the year.
Celebrate the New Year or remember the old ... with a "2017" door hanger.
This pattern can be adapted to any year... all numbers are included.
You could make one for every year in your home.
Plus a smaller ornament size is also included in this pattern
Detailed instructions are included.
Finished door knob design measures:
6 1/2" x 6" including hanger.
Embroidery designs are: 5 3/8" x 2 7/8",
smaller ornament design: 1 5/8" x 3".  It is only $3.99
I recently made a new stocking for my Daughter's boyfriend...Jaryd....we love it and we love him.
Here are the others...then when they get married they can bring their stockings to their home.
The pattern is from Woodland threads...a need 'l love book.
I love to make a new ornament every year....I made this sweet camper because my daughter revamped our camper this year.
The patterns come from the new magazine: Holiday Crafts by Better homes and garden.
So do the owls below.
I chose some pinks, blues and purples.
It is a blast to try new things and carve out a little time for other things!
Hope you are enjoying the holidays!

Fun letters to collage with.... freebie

Sometimes I love adding my own words to something....like this calendar I had.
It was a trucking calendar that was so ugly....I had to change it to Marie Antoinette.
I always refer to my collage letters I made....and I keep many sheets handy for projects.
It is fun to print, cut out and glue!  It is an easy way to add to your artwork.
Use cream or white cardstock.

I thought a variety would be nice....different fonts and sizes.
Click here for the 2 page alphabet letters freebie
To use in your art projects...just save, print and cut and use.

The secret to having it all is knowing you already do!

I wanted to share an inspirational quote:
Realize that true happiness lies within you. Waste no time and effort searching for peace and contentment and joy in the world outside. Remember that there is no happiness in having or in getting, but only in giving. Reach out. Share. Smile. Hug. Happiness is a perfume you cannot pour on others without getting a few drops on yourself.

Never let go- Titanic sign & more

Well the 100th year anniversary of the sinking of the Titanic has come and gone.  I watched endless shows on the subject and even saw the movie again in 3-D which was great.  I have a huge collection of books and memorabilia.  I made up this digital sign ...available on my ETSY under my digital sign section.
I love this saying...so romantic.

This is great for a Wedding or bridal shower

I love Halloween....and I know it is early but I sell Halloween all year long....People are so into it!

Me and my hubby are vets....so this is close to my heart.

We are very patriotic....this country is great!

What a great saying...so true....one should never give up on your dreams

More fun for weddings...remember when the wedding ceremony said...I now pronounce you man and wife?
How weird!  That doesn't fly with me!
Have a fabulous Monday!!!

Come over to the party..... at Whipperberry....see all the creative things everyone has been up to!
