Special coffee & lots of other snippets

Sometimes days are really hard....lol
My sis wanted me to make a sign that said this....so I thought....why not....pretty funny!
I love making signs that make you either smile or laugh out loud.
It is in my esty shop.
I had a fun time this past weekend ...hanging out with 2 of my sisters and my daughter....
GIRL POWER!
I got some cool Alexander Henry fabric.
This is the cutest kitty cat ever!
I love this artwork....just up my alley!!
Oh yeah...spotted some Halloween too.
At a thrift shop I got some chenille..
yes it was 49 cents!
I also got some patriotic fabric....vintage.
I got this needlepoint that was 35.99 at Micheal's originally.. a while back.
I got 66 % off the 99 cents!!!
Never opened!!!
Found some awesome wrap...tons of it....
Vintage unused sheet...that I want to embroider a saying on.
Sheets are fun because you can fit a design in between major designs.

Here is a set of alphabet letters that you could use to embroider....just take the letters to trace a saying and then transfer it onto the sheet with a disappearing blue marker.
I may just have to whip one up this week and show you!

Kettle & Thanksgiving ideas

This week's freebie is "K is for kettle". My grandma always had a kettle on....because it was always tea time!  She came from Scotland and so did my father....tea was big for them and my dad always has tea when he comes over for a visit.  He is into green tea now.  All the letters of the alphabet will be given as a freebie...we are at about half way now.  For earlier letters ...go back to my past Friday posts.

Next week will be: "L is for ____"
Be the first to guess the correct answer to what "L" could stand for ....and you will get a sweet prize.  Just make your guess in the comment section of this blog post.
One guess per person to make it fair!

The next holiday is THANKSGIVING!

I have created quite a bit in the Thanksgiving department.
I love the homey feel.
Above is my owl embroidery....this is a little guy...very fast!
This "Hello Autumn" is a combination of embroidery and working with soft wool.
These wool pins use up your scraps!
This is a simple design, makes a great table mat.
My turkey....this always gets lots of attention!  I have a lot of techniques in this pattern.
All these patterns, signs, flash cards and collage sheets are in my etsy shop.

This Turkey embroidery had a pocket for thankful tags...you and your family write down what you are thankful for and keep it in this leaf pocket.
Easy to print and frame signs.
I always get frames for these at the dollar tree/dollar store.
Tags....made from vintage photos.
Flash cards...so sweet around your decor or on your plate/ napkin ring.
These are large ones....so fun to have your guests holding one of these for a photo.  Makes for a fun photo prop.

My new thanksgiving ornaments....8 different designs.
I love me some pumpkin pie...reminds me of mom soooo much!
Fun subway sign...bright and cheerful.
The leaves in this picture are so pretty....I don't think my maple tree was as pretty this year.

Badges...so fun to wear on thanksgiving.
These are mini badges....so cute on a doll, at a place setting, on a fabric pumpkin.
One of my favorite shows is a Charlie Brown's thanksgiving....I just love watching snoopy set up the table...cracks me up!

Have a very Happy Halloween...stay safe and enjoy.

ABC freebie series!

Happy summer August day to you!
I am starting a series that will last a long time....ABC designs.
This is the first....just in time for school to start!
Each week I will put the next letter on with a cute design...they would be so cute in an embroidered quilt for a child....or stitching up just the design...like this apple.
Can you guess what design will go with the "B"?
Make a guess in the comment section!
---------------------------------------------------
Here is another sneaky peak of my next pattern....coming very soon!
I have been having headaches lately.....I used to have migraines but they went away.
I am trying to take it alittle easy and relax...hard to do when I have so many things to finish up.
-------------------------------------------
I am designing with Deflecto products now....and it is such a pleasure!
Deflecto provides all your solutions to stay organized so you can concentrate on your projects not your clutter.
The picture just above is an acrylic frame that I put one of my ATC cards in.....then I just added a banner. The banner is stamped with stazon ink (pad)...I used the word "Cutie" and then added a line a glue around the banner and sprinkled with glitter. After it was dry I just tucked the banner in the side of the frame.

I really love the large pink frame! Here I put a watercolor print of mine in the frame....and added a paper streamer rosette...with a vintage paper punch circle and a decorated bottle cap. The bottlecap has a floral image and pink glitter. I added the words "Be Kind" to the rosette. This would be so sweet in a little girls room.

Here is a closeup of the rosette.
I have badge patterns for every style and occasion you could think of in my etsy shop.
This is a drawing I did on brown cardstock....a pen and ink. I wrapped lots of black stringy yarn around the base and then added a vintage button. It goes well with the drawing!

These frames come in all kinds of styles and sizes.....but one thing I noticed that I LOVE is......it is so easy to change what is inside the frame.  I get so tired of the back of other frames with hard to remove staples or funny metal tabs that usually rip your fingernail.

Until next time...take care!!!

Fun letters to collage with.... freebie

Sometimes I love adding my own words to something....like this calendar I had.
It was a trucking calendar that was so ugly....I had to change it to Marie Antoinette.
I always refer to my collage letters I made....and I keep many sheets handy for projects.
It is fun to print, cut out and glue!  It is an easy way to add to your artwork.
Use cream or white cardstock.

I thought a variety would be nice....different fonts and sizes.
Click here for the 2 page alphabet letters freebie
To use in your art projects...just save, print and cut and use.

The secret to having it all is knowing you already do!
