Making my space more me...

I probably said this before...but bear with me.
My studio is a huge building right next to my house.
To save on a huge heating bill...I decided to have an office in my house during the real cold months....since I am working on adobe illustrator most of the time anyway. When I want I can heat the building...and craft up a storm...haha.  So far our weather has been pretty darned nice.
I guess I am a thrifty Scotswoman.
I made my new office as cute as can be ....and the sun shines brightly in it most days!
I started organizing it...looking better all the time!
I got some wonderful wall pockets from Deflecto....My hubby put them up in a flash.
My house was built in 1921....plaster walls....so there is alot of wallpaper!
I kept this yellow wallpaper....so retro and cheery.
I added more stuff to my bulletin board.

Here is another wall pocket...right next to the door.

I put my DMC thread chart in there and my tablet and also the latest mag I am in (my project is n the cover)

My daughter gave me a cute butterfly print for Christmas along with some other goodies.

This file holder is handy for my idea files and also pattern info.
Nothing gets bent or scratched...love it.
Here is my one of my lamps...made from a goodwill lamp (olive green and mustard yellow base when I saw it).  I painted the base white....took off the awful fabric on the shade.
Took strips of a flowery vintage sheet and tied it to the shade....instant shabby chic lamp.
I have my old computer handy and printer.
It truly feels like my space...inspiring.
I have my artwork above my computer...it is nice to see all together like this.

This organizer has an inside divider so pencils/scissors can fit it without sliding around.

These fit great on a small wall space area that was even used before.
It is nice to have things easy to reach for.

Very handy.  They are strong too.
Selina (my daughter) and I went to Goodwill....there were these artist pens just brought out by a gal.....these are premium double ended ....one side a marker brush and the other a smaller tip...Tombow. A ton in a big blue basket. 5.99......SCORE! All new
Pretty all grouped together!
Normally these pens cost 3.19 a piece.
I felt so lucky to get these.
We are going to play around with them on her break!

Chalk boards & more

Christmas is coming....
I know it isn't 15 days yet....I just didn't want to put 31 days..lol.
I have been having fun playing around with some brand new products from Deflecto.
I colored up this small easel board with the chalk markers...they are so cool.
They come in several colors too...not just white.
I also added glitter trim and a bow (looks like the kind we used back in the day).
I added the candy cane paper to the marker...just for holiday fun!

The colors are nice and vibrant!
I feel like a kid again!
I feel like a kid again! The chalk markers come off with water...just dampen a paper towel....so easy. I am so ready for Christmas time to be here....all the decorating, baking, music, fun movies and TV shows like charlie brown and frosty the snowman....oh boy.

I just love Deflecto's frames...this one is so cool...it is magnetic!  The front is clear acrylic....just pull apart from the magnetic back...insert you photo or sign and clip the front back on . It literally takes a few seconds to frame something.
This has an awesome curve to it....reminds me of the new TV's with the curve.

I organized my brushes, colored pencils, and markers in this clear storage box.

This is very handy on a desk.

My paint brushes have been through the ringer...but still very useful!

Glitter station!!!
This is nothing but GLITTER! I have a huge collection of it...glitter is good for everything!

Use an old syrup pitcher from the thrift store to hold glitter!
I put my German glass glitter in mine.

More chalk boards!
I was just having fun doodling!

This one is bigger...great for a "To do" list.
The board just slides into place...you can take it out from the wood base and wash it ...then put it back.
My daughter and I were playing a lot with these....just like when we used to color together.

My 40% off sale continues....more details here.
This is just one of over 340 patterns in my line!

Little things to make it all easier

It's a lovely fall day today.
Leaves are falling like snow.
I have been using a lot of little gadgets to make life easier around here.
They all come from Deflecto!
Above is their chalk board sign....normally in rectangles....I cut this one with scissors..into a sweet leave.
With their chalk paint pen (which is erasable with water)....I scribbled on "Give Thanks" and added some dots!
They would make great Thanksgiving day place cards for your dinner guests.
Here are some clear pockets and a pear clip...perfect to store some of my Christmas ACEO's.

This makes it protected, yet easy to see and find!

On the opposite side of my red and green ACEO...I put my blue wintery ACEO's.
So much fun!

I made these using old photos, pretty papers, and printed out words and phrases.

Here is a plastic chalk board sign....I just wrote out my favorite saying...."Once begun is half done"..... and then added flowers, squiggles and dots with the chalk paint pen.
This saying really motivates me to just get going.

I love tags....I can't stop making them and collecting them.
I just string them onto a pear clip from Deflecto and they are all together.
They stay organized and nice this way.

So sweet this way!
I have also been using the pear clip for clipping together my patterns....you could clip your collection together!  They are easy to hang on a peg this way.

These gadgets are so handy!

I have a fondness for all things French....here I used the sign holder and made a sweet little piece of art...Marie Antoinette with a glittery muslin banner saying "Dream it".

Here is a side view.  It is plastic and easily holds small signs and paper.

I made a sign for my dishwasher....It stays on with the magnetic clamp.
The sign was fun to make.

I am always wondering if the dishes are clean or not.

See how this works....very handy.

Here are a few pics from my recent Quilt show .
It was so hard to fit all my samples and patterns into my booth.
These clamps worked great to hang up unusual items.
It made it alot easier.
Also at the Washington state quilt show...I used the double clamps to hold a sample (A Happy New Year door hanger) and a pattern on top of a turn style.

People could really see everything well.
The magnetic clamp was so handy on my metal cabinet I brought to the quilt show. It helped hold small quilts....to sort of fill a hole in my display.
I hung my "She lingers in the garden" quilt with the clamps and had the pattern nearby using the magnetic clamp. It is really hard to pack so many samples and patterns in one booth, but the Deflecto products made it much easier.
So I have been a busy girl.
Now .....I need to finish up a cool Thanksgiving ornament pattern.
So much to do!!
