Big eye Kitty cat

This week I painted another painting...a big eye kitty cat...
Inspired by the big eye movie.  I drew one like it before but it was really small....
 this one is a 16 x 20.
I want to share the process.....
I started with old papers covering my canvas...I used a matte medium to do this.  Then I added some white gesso here and there.
Then drew in pencil a basic drawing of my idea.
Then I started with kitty's face....big dark circles for the eyes.
It looks ugly ...but it is all about layering paint.
The face is now starting to come together...I like outlining her face in blue.
I  have blended the face in better...smoothing it out.
Now to add the flower and heart in her pocket.
It looks human like too.
More colors and letting the papers in the back come through.
Lots more paint ....stamping, scribbles and more.
Whiskers!
Sweet and simple...and finished.
She is more vibrant in person and her eyes seem to compel you to see inside them.

We, my daughter and I, got our brochures back from the printers....in time for spring quilt market in Portland.
We are very happy with them.
We both designed our own...in adobe illustrator
Forgive the shine reflection my camera took...they look amazing in person
It was pretty easy to use vista print for these.
My daughter's has a cool wood background.
You can't fit everything in a brochure, but all the latest and most popular are here.
I can't wait to be at market...if you are attending...we are in booth #1227.

Home from the quilt show

Last weekend was a quilt show...in the town of Colville Washington.
It is a small town with tons of charm.
This is some of my booth shots....like the wire tree full of Halloween samples of my patterns.
My daughter Selina brought her finished fall pendants...displayed on the black backdrop.
And also on her pink mannequin....I love how she set it up!
I couldn't bring it all....so I selected mainly fall and Christmas projects.
My mermaid came along...since she is pretty new.
My candy canes are always popular...some projects are classic.
My lil ghost and my orange work Halloween quilt...makes me want to decorate!!!
My raggedy gals quilt pattern and some Halloween goodies...
I love meeting people...chit chatting and laughing with new friends.
That is quite the change from a very very shy girl....who now can talk freely without feeling strange.
I got this adorable cat from Stephanie of Primitive daisy
Her booth was right next to ours so we were always talking!
She has a shop in Kettle Falls.

I guess I better get busy with business now....thanks for stopping by!!

Good Monday!

Lucky says
Good Monday to you!
He is enjoying himself on our new King bed.
He thinks it's all for him!
The quilt on my bed is from Mary Jane Farms....isn't it cool!
We visited my sis this weekend....this is the mighty Columbia river... Lewis and Clark traveled this long ago to get to the pacific ocean.  I can't even imagine how difficult that was!

I got this child's play cabinet at goodwill for
$5.99!!
It is adorbs...just needs some painting.
It has a cute decorative floral wreath on it.

I am painting it with blue chalk paint.
One coat done...gotta add another layer....distress it and put some wax medium on it.
I will post the after pic soon!
I have three of these cabinets now...all very different.
They make great displays!
I drew a little on Sunday....I love drawing Halloween and get excited about it....even though summer hasn't even started.
This lil gal is wearing a sweet cat hat!
Doodling was my favorite thing to do in school....haha
I should have seen the sign of my future....but I didn't.
I love to fill up the page!
I had a lovely Mango drink and the weather was a dream!
Pumpkin guy!
The pumpkin is my favorite thing to draw.
But I do love a cute witch.

Hope your week goes swell.
Tomorrow ...is my last visit to the dentist....fingers crossed.
They practically have a room ready for me at all times.
At least I am not afraid of them anymore.

Grow...freebie embroidery design

I can't believe how much everything is growing outside...it is amazing!
Everyday I go out and see such a change in the scenery!
Even the air smells sweet ... just love it!
Today's freebie is "Grow".
This would make a great stitched up piece in a black narrow frame!
*Please note that all freebies are for you to use to make a couple finished goods (no mass producing) and a couple gifts...they are still legally my designs.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------

This is my latest sign...
I illustrated it....making the background pattern too...I like how the white oval is transparent enough to see the pink background.  This is another $5.99 digital download sign...u download and u print....fast fast fast!
I get inexpensive frames from the dollar store, walmart, and thrift strores.
----------------------------------------------------
Remember the United States wall decor my daughter bought me?
Well I painted it...
I decided to go with alternating colors....soft colors.
It was very bright when I was finished....
So I sanded it...I may sand it some more too.
I straightened the picture better....I just love it.

Trix says...Please check out my Instagram!!!
I share lots of photos there that I don't anywhere else!

Have a Spectacular Weekend!!!
