Hot August- Welcome

August is already a scorcher!
I feel like I am watering plants night and day.
Summer is great, but I love temps in the 70's and 80's....right?

I have been so busy working on a new big project, that I couldn't work on much that I can share with you. I wish I could. It's been a tough year so far for everyone. My father is in independent care now, it is hard to lift his spirits. Seems like everything is so different.
I like to turn to comfort like creating and playing with art.

I made these flowers on the calendars to represent the summer sun!

The above phone/table calendar is ready to download.
The desktop calendar is available here.
The orange side bar was made for your computer icons, so that you an still see them.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
All 12 of my monthly cat designs are now complete.

Each month has a theme for the look of it.
My favorites (for fun) are July and October.
The digital/instant downloads are in my etsy shop.
The printed and mailed versions are on my website.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I found an evening where I could play with pastels.
I decided to make a witch, so I started with a sketch and the face basics.
I love doing the face and hair the most. Purple hair is a fun choice.
She is a blue eyed witch.

I added some shimmer to the drawing.

Not only did I have a fun time creating this and now I have a new piece of art.
I use cheap cray pas pastels, a pencil and Jane Davenport' mineral eyes for shimmer.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
I am having a book signing at the Quilting Bee in Spokane.. August 3rd.
From 10 am - 4PM.
Come out and see me and my daughter Selina!
This is my September design in my book
"Lovely little hand embroidery".
Sweet mice living is a pumpkin house.

I added blush on the mice's cheek using makeup blush and a cotton swab.

Here is a little video showing projects in my book
Please take a look!

You can also order it on C & T Publishing,  AmazonSearch PressEE Schenck,  and Checker Distributors.
You can find it at the Quilting Bee and Barnes and noble too.
There is 30 different projects in the book!
-------------------------------
I love making Halloween anything...
These are Halloween ornaments...which will be in my etsy shop soon.
Spooky!
Dracula's eyes are transfixing you!
Look at the tiny teeth.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I have loads of flowers under my patio this year.
Since we are all limited about where we can go... I find it very important to try to make the outdoors a sanctuary.

I got this fun crow water fountain ... the beaks fill up with water and it comes out both mouths.
I find myself watching it a lot. lol.
You know its a good purchase when just looking at it makes you happy.

When I think of August...the first thing that enters my brain are sunflowers.
Such a happy flower.

Hope you have a happy August!

Happy October to you!

Hey...It's October already!
Time flies and I love this month so much!
There is always so much going on around here...from the WSQ Quilt show... to Halloween.... to going to all the farms for apples and pumpkin donuts... visitors.. my husband's birthday....and it goes on and on!
Are you busy too?

and a cool desktop calendar for you computer.
I designed these pumpkin scarecrows from drawings I made and then illustrated them.
I actually do a ton of work on the computer.
I really love every minute of it.
**********************************************
Do you love to color? Do you need a small calendar in your office or home?

I colored up some of them to show you how cute they are!
I have mine by my computer...small enough to not take over the whole space.

It is a PDF Instant Download(file), That I created. I drew and designed these. 12 months come on 3 different pages...just download instantly, print on white cardstock or regular paper....and cut out.

Each one fits the theme of the month!
Each month measures: 3 15/16" x 5".
This is Great for anyone who loves to color! They look great hanging on small clips or on a clipboard. The kids could color these and give them to their grandparents too.

This is how they look uncolored.
**Plus makes a great stocking stuffer (just print and cut out...tie them together with a box of crayons...so easy and inexpensive).

******This cannot be sold as a file or as a calendar....gift giving only! ******

And on another note...you could use the drawings for embroidery (no embroidery instructions are given however).

I hope you have a wonderful start to this October!

Monthly markers & spoonflower

Recently I made some Monthly markers for my instagram account
It was a challenge from Bonnie Christine...of the Roost tribe/Going home to roost.
It is a cool way to mark the beginning of each month....and you can see when going thru the Instagram.....the timeline easier.
I illustrated drawings to match the theme of the month...since I love holidays....I mainly used them as inspiration.
I used some of my repeating patterns and put them into the drawing...like the pot in the month August.
I really love challenges...they motivate me much more than just writing something on my to do list.
I tend to be a procrastinator....and I need to push myself.....which I do all the time.
------------------------------------------------------------------

My daughter has a spoonflower shop!
And she has done a bunch of work on it.
She had to have a swatch test of each design and mailed to her....she approved how it turned out and now they are officially for sale.

I showed you this before...but it is available printed on all kinds of fabric.

and as Wallpaper!!!!

and gift wrap!!!!   I need some of this soon!

She has cute forest animals for fabric...

and gift wrap as well.

It is so cool what is available now.

I love the wallpaper options too.
It would be great to do one wall and make it an "accent wall".
------------------------------------------------
I have been working with color options...
changing repeating patterns into completely different looks.
I learn so much from Bonnie Christine's Skillshare classes.
I had so much fun that I was dreaming about it at night.

More snow today....ugh!  I guess spring will come when it's ready.
Hope you have a wonderful day!!
