Welcome October...let the fun begin.

Welcome October...we've been waiting for you!

This is my favorite time of the year....followed closely by Christmas.
I love the change in the weather....pumpkins everywhere...goodies and treats to eat...apple cider...spooky movies...decorations....leaves changing and falling....
I could go on and on!

This little kitty cat is celebrating. October is all about Jack O lanterns, Candy corn and harvest festivals.
Stitch up this quick design that features a sweet cat that loves
celebrating with a balloon.
Make it up in a cute pillow adorned with easy to make felt & wool flowers.

It's time for a new calendar for OCTOBER!
Click here for the phone or tablet size....just download, save and set as a backround.

I love the oranges and blacks...bold colors with purple, brown and yellow.
The scarecrows remind me of farmers protecting their wheat...on a chilly night!

The new Somerset Holiday magazine is out...
and I have 2 articles in it!
I love these magazines because they are full of inspiration, ideas, tips and tricks ....
plus they are not about tons of ads.  You can order this online or get it at Jo Ann's or Barnes and Noble.
My Sugar plum Snowmen are featured....
I love how they look sweet and shabby chic.
And my Retro felt ornaments .... blast from the past are in it as well.

It just takes felt scraps.

You can also buy my pattern for these here:

I'm excited to announce....
My daughter Selina has created her first skillshare class!
She teaches how to create a fun enchanted rainbow bird doll....primitively stitched, stuffed and painted....easy peasy.
Skillshare has a free trial....but it is only $8.25 a month for unlimited access to hundreds of classes.
From computer illustration, art, sewing, help with your creative business, cooking, hand lettering, drawing, photography.....and so on.....
Selina's video goes through the basics for beginers....with a pattern included.

Sewing ....primitive playful style

painting and adding pastels....

She shows how easy it is to create the little bird....
This is sweet in a nest or hanging as an ornament...she plans to create more classes soon.

I personally have learned so much from skillshare....its great for creative businesses.  I love that you can watch a class...re-watch as many times as you like, quit one your not into- no problem, you can watch from your computer, tablet or phone....so cool.

I have been making lots of Halloween dolls this year.
They are super fun to make and they have been selling like crazy...Every time I think that it will be enough....then it's not.
I love that they are going to great homes.

I belong to the Spokane cloth doll club, a bunch of great gals....
On October 4th there is a first Friday event there (5-9)...come see the dolls...buy them if you like....We all have different styles.  Our dolls will be featured throughout the month of October.

My dolls start out pretty rough...just muslin and primitive stitching.
In this picture above it is a witch, creature of the black lagoon, Dracula and cat.

Here is the bride of Frankenstein

I add paint....and she starts to come alive.

Here is one of my brides complete.

The werewolf looks pretty lame at first...
And then he is a handsome fellow.
The creature is my fav...currently.

Mr. Skelly is super cute though...I can't decide.
If I have any left, they will be in my etsy shop.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I went for a visit... to my sister's and we had a blast shopping...
I wanted to share a few items I got.
These Rae Dunn Halloween plates are adorable.

Four in a set...home goods!
WE love going to antique stores....and I got some cool vintage paper decos.

This is a classic haunted house....only 3 colors....so bright after all these years.

Goofy witch!

These decals are most likely new, but so cute!

Vintage napkins and party invites....these are often thrown away....so they can be rare.

I love the dorky cat and sweet pumpkin....
Paper products are my fav!

I had fun visiting, eating, hot tubbing, watching scary flix ...etc....
it was nice to take a break from everything....
you should too!

Happy October to you!

Hey...It's October already!
Time flies and I love this month so much!
There is always so much going on around here...from the WSQ Quilt show... to Halloween.... to going to all the farms for apples and pumpkin donuts... visitors.. my husband's birthday....and it goes on and on!
Are you busy too?

and a cool desktop calendar for you computer.
I designed these pumpkin scarecrows from drawings I made and then illustrated them.
I actually do a ton of work on the computer.
I really love every minute of it.
**********************************************
Do you love to color? Do you need a small calendar in your office or home?

I colored up some of them to show you how cute they are!
I have mine by my computer...small enough to not take over the whole space.

It is a PDF Instant Download(file), That I created. I drew and designed these. 12 months come on 3 different pages...just download instantly, print on white cardstock or regular paper....and cut out.

Each one fits the theme of the month!
Each month measures: 3 15/16" x 5".
This is Great for anyone who loves to color! They look great hanging on small clips or on a clipboard. The kids could color these and give them to their grandparents too.

This is how they look uncolored.
**Plus makes a great stocking stuffer (just print and cut out...tie them together with a box of crayons...so easy and inexpensive).

******This cannot be sold as a file or as a calendar....gift giving only! ******

And on another note...you could use the drawings for embroidery (no embroidery instructions are given however).

I hope you have a wonderful start to this October!

I can't seem to stop myself however!
My hubby and I went to the "Roost"...an antique store in Spokane...and we had a blast.
They have the greatest displays!
Creepy skeleton bride!
Cracks me up!!
This chair display was so cool...they really have a knack for getting things just right!
When in doubt ...put fake rat in bowl of candy corn!
I love lighted plastic outside decor!
He is eating a kitkat
Wolfman....wearing several hats
Displays were way up high too!
I wanted everything!
This last pic was from the Vintage rabbit.
I love the idea of a doll head..placed in a pumpkin with a witch hat!!
So cool.
