Dreamy...how to make a necklace pendant.

I try to be positive about Mondays! 

Today I am showing you how easy it is to make a sweet embroidered pendant necklace.

"Dreamy" 

It is very easy to make!!!

Here is a new wood design from my daughter Selina....She makes wooden pendant blanks...

This is the new rectangle.  Below it is a scrap of cotton batting. 

I always glue a piece of batting to the inner part...where the design will be.

I love this quick dry glue from Aleene's. 

Just glued on ...cut any batting that hangs over the edge. 

All glued..let dry.

I typed up some words on the computer...in some different fonts...I liked this one.

Here is the word dreamy so you can just copy and save this if you like. 

Using a light box or a sunny window....place the word under some cool fabric.

Trace the word using a blue disappearing marker.

I placed the word in between some of the wilder area of the print. 

All hooped up and ready to stitch...I couldn't decide what color to use...but finally picked a green color. 

This took me a few minutes...so easy and fast.

I then rinsed the blue marker away with water and let dry.

I then placed the design over the inner rectangle....then put the outer rectangle over the fabric design....press down.  

I am cutting the excess fabric on the back down to 1/4" around the entire rectangle.

All cut 

Now I glue the edge to the back.

Top and bottom...

Then sides...

I cut out a piece of felt...big enough to cover the inner rectangle.

Add glue... 

Place on the back and press down. 

I decided to add a little wool heart and a small gold safety pin!

These are words to live by!

I love putting banners on my projects...with glitter.

Here I have some fabric flowers....made from silk and satin.

I added leaves and a sweet banner on each.

They are available in my etsy shop called Mrs. Tiddlemouse.

They come on a tag like the one picture above.

We all need some courage from time to time....

Whether it is speaking in front of people, facing a disease, or getting a new job.

I chose red flowers for this one....it just goes with red so well.

I have a good time making my mannequin wear all my brooch's....she loves it!

I sell this large mannequin pattern in my etsy shop.

Here are all five in my shop.

I also have old bottles...I fixed up with some cool labels.

I just have soooo much stuff....I need to sell my treasures before the hoarders team shows up!

I am trying to part with things....it is hard...but necessary!

I just love old bottles....wondering what was there purpose long ago.

I am so behind....yet again!

I had one of my sisters visiting on New Years.....and we were non stop having fun.....

I feel like a collage kid who has just over did everything.

Now...back to normal and sooo ready for it.

Freebie Friday - DreAm

This is the second week of an 8 week all Summer long freebie friday event!!!! The theme is Inspiration!!!

Each Friday I will give you a design...like the "Dream" design and by the end of 8 weeks you will have some beautiful Embroidery bowl fillers, pillow tucks, or ornaments. You could also use the designs to make other items like wearable pins or small pin cushions.

Take a scrap piece of muslin and trace the DREAM design onto it. I like using a disappearing marker....that disappears when water is applied to it. On my left sidebar is a tip on how to make a lightbox to trace embroidery designs.

Also trace the square around design. Back-stitch your word on muslin in any color you choose. Trim muslin design down....1/4" away from outside square. Remove disappearing marker and let dry. Make into a mini pillow...with a backing and stuff it. One bowl filler is done. These also make great pillow tucks on a shelf. Tell your friends about the all summer long freebie friday!!!

These lil pillows are very fast to whip up...so lets get started...I will post mine also....it would be GREAT to see yours too!!!!
