It's May day!

It's already the fifth month of the year!
Time is flying!
Before you know it...summer will be here. I like the weather of spring though...mild but not freezing anymore.  It's a great time to plan out summer ideas and work on projects.  I love working on the garden and flower pots. Plus my daughter is getting married in September, so there is a lot to plan and figure out.
Above is the phone or tablet calendar wallpaper for MAY.  Click here to download it.

The theme for may is Nurture. Time to nurture the garden, and of course your family and yourself.

Enjoy the outdoors...and relax!

Strawberries and Bees....
This collage sheet of my art is a fun printable to use to make all kinds of crafty goodies.
It is brand new!
You can make all kinds of fun projects with it!
I have a fun mini tutorial video on Instagram..check it out!

I painted the art work...watercolor...they are my own design. You could make tags, stickers, add as embellishments to scrapbooking, journals pages, add to crafts, frame, and much more!

Just print when you need them...over and over. You can print on white cardstock, matte photo paper, sticker paper or glossy presentation paper.

I made ornaments for my tree...I have a narrow white tree up all year round....for all the holidays and right now I have a spring/summer theme.

I made a variety of art this month.
This large watercolor painting is nothing but doodle!
I drew whatever I liked ... all together...it reminds me of doodles on a "pee chee"folder in school.

For this one I was thinking about under the sea and summertime.
It is not my usual but It sure was fun.

These are mickey type mice...friendship!
I love how the hearts are green.

This one is "May"...
hoping that you have an amazing month!
Until next time!

Independence day Eagle freebie

Feeling Bicentennial?
This is an old design from 1976.
I remember when everyone was talking about it and celebrating.
I was a kid ....thinking whatever, let's have fun!
My mom bought some plates commemorating it and it was all over the TV.
It seemed like everyone was excited about it.

Copy and save this if you like.

I thought you would like to see a few things around my house...
I have a pan full of strawberries...one with a crow.
my flag quilt makes a good table mat.
I decided to put my painted doll in my skinny hutch...along with some flowers.
Summer!
I have had these blocks for years....and I love them.
I got this super cool Uncle Sam at a thrift store...perfect for my patriotic decor.
I have a huge collection of nutcrackers for Christmas...myabe I should collect for the other holidays.
This is my grandpa Chester....he served in world war 1.
He met his brother in France...both survived.
He was born in 1895....so long ago! He died before I was born however...my mom loved him so much!
Flag city!
I love all the red, white and blue.
My new Betsy ross spoon storage...lol.
The stitchery above is from Bareroots.
Humpty Dumpty is hiding in the corner.
I had to throw in Raggedy Ann.
She is sweet and her outfit is totally patriotic.
Have a wonderful weekend....relax, have fun and live it up!!

Tiny Strawberry freebie pattern

Today I want to share with you a little freebie pattern....
You make it from old vintage linens....the kind that have damage and have been embroidered on.
They are found very easily at the thrift stores or garage sales....
or you may have some in your stash.
I made a whole bunch....just for fun.
I may put them in my strawberry collection in a bowl....sort of a summer decor thing.
Here they are in my tea cup....so besides being a pin keep....they make a great bowl filler.
You can fit the best part of the embroidery on the strawberry...so easy.
They are cheerful and you can make the tops of the strawberry any color, and any ribbon choice too.
This is the old linen I took these from....it was torn in places so I was not going to use it as a table runner anyway.
They make great friendship swaps and gifts.
Plus...what a great needle minder...just tie it to your embroidery hoop!!!

Patriotic decor in my cottage

I wanted to share my patriotic decor today....I have my main living room full of it!
I love featuring our first president...and he is the reason this state is called Washington.
I made the heart years ago when mixed media stuff first began.
I love just grouping everything together.
This is a large strawberry I made, a crazy kitty cat and a cool stitchery from Bareroots.

I kept my patriotic banner on my little quilts.
I love big flowery displays.
I must have done this about 25 years ago...I loved gluing done all those cool buttons.
At the time I had no idea creating would be such a big thing to me.  I was young and didn't know what to do.
My mom was still alive...she thought this was very cool.
These are pretty old too...teddy bear in a jean pocket and uncle sam.
These cross stitched hearts have always made me feel great just looking at them...funny how some things spark big feelings.
My piano top....this is the piano that my mom played on...she could play anything!
She had a true gift...she didn't need music to read either.
I made this about 25 years ago too....one of my first quilting projects....I didn't even know what I was doing...lol.
It has faded quite a bit!
My theory is...stick a flag into anything.
Humpty dumpty...and the "I love quilting" doll.
Donkey collection.
This little drum came from goodwill....you just never know what you can find there.
This is a Washington salt shaker...a recent find!
I filled my large jar with sea shells and flags.
Remember when there were craft malls around...lots of booths in one building....I loved them.  I got this rooster from one we had in our town.
Strawberries....they just go with the summer red white and blue.
I love this tiny wreath...so glittery.
Cute little pillow....I remember staining it to look old....but it also has the glitter glue paint....so out of date....lol.
This little raggedy was once my mom's....she loved it and I think of her when I see it.
Books, a flag picture, star fish and birds!
Glass ware in my window.
Froy is snoozing in the corner of the pic.
My mantle...I love lighting it up.
I know this isn't patriotic....but it is summery~

Do you decorate for the patriotic holidays?
Sometimes time gets away from me on this one...but this year I did it!

Have a wonderful week!
