Patriotic Tea Party!

I have created a Patriotic Tea Party!
This painting was a lot of fun and actually helped me get through some stressful times.
Art is very healing.
Sometimes just getting out the supplies on a big table gets you going!
I always start with a large canvas (hobby lobby was packs of them at great prices)
I take old papers and with a matte medium, apply them to the canvas.
Some of my old papers crack me up....I guess they lied about dieting stuff way back!
Terrible how this kind of fraud was allowed, but it still is really.
I like adding recipes and cartoons too.
Sometimes I glue some tissue paper too. You just have to apply these carefully so they don't wrinkle.
I drew a few ideas down....
from my sketch....I think it is a good idea to do this before hand.
I started adding paint...letting some of the old papers show through.
I really wanted the teapot to have a flag...because usually teapots have flowers or sweet designs...
I wanted it to be different.
Roses!
I work on one area, and then go to the next while it dries.
I sketched a spoon at the bottom.
Adding greenery.
Folk art is very forgiving....lol.
It's ok to make mistakes or be a little sloppy.
Things are coming together, but I didn't like all that space around the teapot.
Lots of shading....
coffee or tea?
I added a patriotic banner!
I slipped it in and I love it!
This is my process and I had so much fun.
This is a perfect project for a rainy day!
 -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
My daughter Selina ( with a fox camera app)....
She is a happy girl because she has a new laser machine and it works like a dream.
Her other machine broke down and caused all kinds of trouble... right after
quilt market!  Now she is almost completely caught up on all the orders and feeling much better!

When it rains ...it pours!
It's almost Father's Day!

Makes the perfect gift for Father's day
or when baby is born and there is a new daddy in the family.
Looks great hung up in the man cave.
This is a dollar store frame...painted white....so easy!

Hope you have an amazing weekend with your dad....your step-dad, your father in law, uncle, grandpa or cat daddy...lol.

New designs and little cakes

You probably know how super duper proud I am of my daughter Selina...a recent high school grad and business owner.
These finished pendant are for sale as well as her pendant blanks...for your own fabric or designs.

I love the "paint by number" fabric...that was one of my favorite things to do as a child....I bet you liked it too!
This fabric has the word "love" embroidered on it.
My favorite shape of hers in the hexie!
I love this  face!
There are french knots on his party hat.
Jack...the pumpkin king!...he has a few beads on him...I need to watch this movie again soon!
He has French knot highlights in his eyes.
in a hexie this time!  Boy am I looking forward to halloween decorating!
I need to make some clips on earrings for myself...my ears always grow back...I give up on pierced earrings.  I guess my body says No!
Selina also made lots of Petit fours!
They are great tea cakes.
She had a blast and brought them to a party.
Plus she made up a box for her boyfriend and her friend as well.
They were so yummy and looked great!
She just keeps surprising me with her talents!

Happy monday!

Time for tea freebie

Yay!  It's another Friday....time for a freebie!
This is a doll type tea set.
Over the years I have grown to love tea...when I was a kid I hated it...which was hard when your dad comes from Scotland and everyone drinks tea like crazy.
This would look so sweet on a napkin.
**********************************
I had some birthday money ...so I went fabric shopping.
I loved this stack of moda prints.
I also got Holly's tree farm fabric....for a Christmas project.
I love the color combos and the retro designs.
I also got some random Tim holtz fabric, fabric with numbers and writing,  sewing supplies....and a pretty floral.
And I also got some Halloween fabric...YAY.
I know I have way too much.....but I don't have this one!!!
*********************
Summer is not as productive for me....with my daughter being out of school, visits, and a vacation....but this is all good fun!

Have a fab weekend!!!

Come to the pin me linky party!   Come to what to do weekend also!  Come to Home matters linky party!  Come to the party bunch!

Under the Mistletoe....

It sure has been frosty for most of us in the U.S.
No snow for us....just cold.
Above is my newest pattern
"Meet me under the Mistletoe"....#343.
Yep....Love is in the air this Christmas. Mr. & Mrs. Frosty have joined hands & found the mistletoe. Such a charming embroidery project....so quick, easy and fun to do. Add color, shadows and glitter... this is simply sweet! Finish the design in a hoop with ribbon bow.

This is a side view.
Cozy up next to the fireside and stitch this sweetie today! This makes a great gift for a special pal, looks great hanging in your home, & also is a fun craft show seller.
Finished design in hoop measures: 10" round
Embroidery design measures: 6 1/2" x 7 3/4"
As you can see....I am a big fan of framing embroidery in hoops.
I get lots of hoops at thrift stores and garage sales.....so inexpensive.
Each of these hoops are different sizes....you just can't tell from the pictures.
The shamrock is a tiny hoop.....where my new pattern above is in a 10" hoop.
So easy!

Stay tuned for an announcement soon!!!

It's here....the teapot to go with all the other tea related freebies of the past 7 weeks.
Go to my freebies section on the right side bar to see the others in the set.
Click to see it large and save.

I threw in this little guy as well.
A sweet simple rose.
Next week I will have something completely different.
I have been working on many Halloween designs...to turn into new patterns.
Some are almost ready!
Below are some popular ones of the past.
These can all be found in my Hudsonsholidays Etsy shop, patternmart, and my website.
There are table displays, embroidery's, make dos, dolls, pins, and more!
My owl swag is a large fun display.
I love making pincushions and needle felted pumpkins.
The pin badge comes with all the artwork to make them.
I made these little collages of my designs last year.....there are so much more than these though.
This is Agatha Willow witch.....she has a twig nose, cheesecloth hair and a vase for a body.
This is a crazy pumpkin pincushion.....love his bead mouth.
My "Boo" door hanger....the berries are little beads!
