New designs and little cakes

You probably know how super duper proud I am of my daughter Selina...a recent high school grad and business owner.
These finished pendant are for sale as well as her pendant blanks...for your own fabric or designs.

I love the "paint by number" fabric...that was one of my favorite things to do as a child....I bet you liked it too!
This fabric has the word "love" embroidered on it.
My favorite shape of hers in the hexie!
I love this  face!
There are french knots on his party hat.
Jack...the pumpkin king!...he has a few beads on him...I need to watch this movie again soon!
He has French knot highlights in his eyes.
in a hexie this time!  Boy am I looking forward to halloween decorating!
I need to make some clips on earrings for myself...my ears always grow back...I give up on pierced earrings.  I guess my body says No!
Selina also made lots of Petit fours!
They are great tea cakes.
She had a blast and brought them to a party.
Plus she made up a box for her boyfriend and her friend as well.
They were so yummy and looked great!
She just keeps surprising me with her talents!

Happy monday!

A very Vintage Christmas.....

Christmas is coming, I wish it were here....it is my very favorite time of year.....
This is a my BRAND NEW pattern: A vintage Christmas mini Quilts pattern- #366
This is in my etsy shop now!

The scene is set for a very vintage Christmas!
These 3 lil quilts are just perfect for your Winter Decor. There is a Tree mat, hanging banner Snowman head and a winter landscape on a larger mini quilt. All three feature wool and fun fabric.
They make terrific mats for your table, shelves and backdrop for decor!

I love playing with new fabrics and trims...
such a sweet face!
The pattern is also on my website!

I really can't get enough of fake measuring tapes and trims
This winter landscape is easy and fun to do...
I love doing a little machine quilting....which is also easy on these small projects.
Tree mat quilt design measures: 11" x 4"
Snowman head design measures: 11" x 4" not including bells
Winter landscape measure: 16" x 7 3/4" not including bells
Well I feel much more in the mood for Christmas now...
I need to get out my Andy Williams Christmas album and fully get in the spirit!

Mannequins and options on creating them

Retro paris Large Mannequin Dress Form pinkeep - fabric jewelry holder Pincushion Pin Keep primitive cushion
I love sharing tips and tricks with you.
When I make my mannequins....I like to mix things up and make them all unique.
The one above is a large mannequin....and it's base is a vase...painted with nickel colored spray paint.
New tip:  You can put a dowel in the vase...fill it with spray foam insulation (lowes $3.50 a can) and make it really sturdy.
On this medium stand...I just took a wooden stand from the thrift store and painted it black.
Thrift stores usually have a section of funny wood items for the home.
Here you can find candle stick stands and unusual wood items to make into stands...dirt cheap.

This stand is a rusty piece of metal.
Flea markets and habitat for humanity shops have lots of this kind of item.
Just checking my dad's garage....there were all kinds of potential stands...he thought I was nuts...lol.

Here is a mannequin I am currently finishing, not quite done.
I had nothing prim to work with....so I took a glass candle stick and transformed it.

All you need is mod podge, tissue paper (like an old sewing pattern), a brush and acrylic paint in brown and black.
Just modge podge tissue to the glass stand..let it be crinkly.
let dry.
Paint it with Brown...wipe off with a cloth and then add black paint and wipe some off with a cloth.

It makes it looks old , almost like leather.

This is perfect.

I added this wax medium to the stand for a finish.
This is a great wax for paintings (finish), and paper mache painted projects.
This is at art supply stores...just ask them where it is so you don't look for an hour.

You could also use this lovely mod podge.
Love matte!
Hope you like this additional info

Vintage steampunk Mannequin dress form

I have been having the funnest time making my mannequins to sell....
I have not made any in a while....they are addicting.
This is a medium size mannequin....made from Tim Holtz fabric.
It measures: 14 1/2" high...8" wide.
My mom used to call me tiddlemouse.
It has a has a dyed cheesecloth tie around the waist, a buckle on the cheesecloth belt, a gear near the bottom, pins, more gears, Huge rusty wire wings, a wool heart with safety pin at the top, a brown spool of thread, and a brass/black stand. You can use this for you sewing supplies or to display your jewelry.
I kinda hope it doesn't sell...so I can just keep it.
As if I need another pincushion.
I attached the thread....with a string....it can be replaced later when it is all used up.
It is hard to see, but I aged the brass stand with some cool black metal patina stuff.
There are mini, medium, large, Santa, and witch.
I found the wire ...there is no more...it is a one of a kind.
My daughter and I sometimes go hunting around for rusty items by the railroad tracks.
It is pretty close to us and it is like treasure hunting.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
By the way....there is a fun new show called "Thrift hunters" on Spike TV......It is so much fun,
but I warn you....you will want to go thrift shopping right after watching the show.

What's Mew? - Cat quote of the week!

Hi y'all!  This is Princess Fiona when she was a baby....she is mommy to my current cats...Lucky & Trix. My little Fiona disappeared one day....never found her.  She was cute and gave me 2 huge gifts- her kittens.  I hate to say this...but..... she had the personality of a wet rag.  I loved her alot though.
She is saying "What's Mew?"...I know it is corny...but with all the corny Christmas records I am listening to ....it goes with the territory.
Survivor is on tonight....yay....I love that show!  I have always been on team "Coach"...Ozzy drives me bonkers.

What a sweet sewing treasury on etsy.  I love sewing supplies...I light up everytime I see them at thrift stores or antique stores!  There is a great antique store in Richland that has a whole booth of lovely vintage sewing supplies and fabric...I spend alot of time in that booth!  The prices are so good too.  Of course I love Jo Ann fabrics too!
I have sooooo many things I am working on for the Farm Chicks show...only 2 weeks away!  My daughter helped my last night, she is a good worker.
We had a lovely time at the armed forces Lilac parade on Saturday!  It is so patriotic and pretty!
