It's Fright night...freebie!

Halloween is tomorrow!
Here is a little pumpkin I drew up...he is quite frightened.
Have you seen the 1980's "Fright Night" movie?
It is a fun one....if you like Vampires.
I watched an old Vincent Price movie called: The haunted Palace.  It wasn't as good as his others ...like : The pit and the pendulum, the house on haunted hill or the house of wax.
I still think he is great...along with Peter Cushing and Christopher Lee.
Please let your friends know about all the freebies I give on fridays...I would appreciate it!

*Please note that all freebies are for you to use to make finished goods (no mass producing though) and gifts...they are still legally my designs.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------

I have a new sign called...."Boo to you", that I created. It is an instant download...u print sign.
No waiting for the mailman....the digital file is available the second you make the purchase.  This could be printed and framed in one of your frames in less than 10 minutes.

It came from some drawings I did that I converted to adobe illustrator.
I was messing around and before I knew it...I made a sign!
My signs are always $5.99 on etsy.

Enjoy Halloween ...
remember to watch out for all the kids running around.
I plan to see if any "trick or treaters" dare come to my cottage...they never do...must be too scary for them!

Come to the pin me linky party!  Come to the party bunch!  Come to what to do weekend!  Come to the home matters party!

I have a dream...

I hope everyone had a fab MLK day.....and weekend!
This is my freebie design...that I altered a little to make it retro.
We had a lot of fun with one of my sisters coming to town and all.
I feel like I was going and going and going....so I am a bit tired.

I really really want spring to come...the sun did shine today and it felt great.
My quilt above always makes me feel "sunny".
I welcome the sunshine into my office with open arms.

I saw this awesome vintage cross stitch design while at an antique store this weekend.
I would love to make my own version....gotta get sketching.
We saw "Into the woods"...pretty good.
I just love Meryl.....she is a great actress and singer!
I had to tell my sisters to shut up their big yappers...lol...they talk too loud!
We shopped, played games, talked about everything under the sun, went to the casino, watched tv.....went out to eat.....just had a really good time.

But I love my quiet cottage and my little family the best!

Bringing to the quilt show & sneak peak

The Washington state quilt show is this coming weekend!
I am bringing some extras besides all my patterns and samples of the patterns!
Like my little watercolor ACEO art....in mats!
These are all originals....one of a kind!  They are matted ....ready to put in a 5 x 7 frame.
I will also have my artwork in tags....bags and bags of them.
For all the times of the year...including Birthdays.
I really love tags....I have been hooked on them for years!
While preparing all my goodies....I am watching these fun shows!  I just love being inspired by movies.
The cartoons bring back memories of being a kid and trick or treating.
More tags....like my zombie tags....featured in Somerset Holidays and celebrations magazine.
These Christmas ornaments were on the cover of that same magazine!
For the show ...I am going to display them on this wire tree.
Halloween goodies....pins, pincushions, hats....and more
This hat is small but fun...clips right into your hair.
Sneak peaky alert!!!!
I am coming up with a few new patterns and this is a sneak peak of one....there will be 7  more in the collection.

Wicked Witch Ornaments

Things are getting frightful around here!
---------------------
If you can't stir with the bad girls then stay away from the cauldron!
---------------------
These are my new Wicked Witch Ornaments pattern
They are in my etsy shop and in my patternmart.
Celebrate Halloween in vintage style! Make these Chenille ornaments in no time. Artwork for witches included!
Add fun glittery sayings and words for fun or to personalize.
Ornaments measures: 5 1/4" x 3"
This makes ten witches....2 of each face. Copy artwork or print artwork again and make limitless witches. These witches are great hanging in twig branches, on Halloween trees, on gifts, would make cute wearable pins, great for craft shows and fun for your Halloween spooky decor.
Isn't she a beauty!
Hey ...she was somebodies baby...once.
---------------
There is a chilly wind blowing...
I am watching "The house on haunted hill"
starring Vincent Price (I love him!)....while working.
This movie is older than me!
The skeleton cracks me up in the movie...wires showing...and it is too small...lol.
I love the old Halloween movies we watched as kids...lots of Peter Cushing, Christopher Lee,  and campy movies like Whatever happened to Baby Jane.

Come to thrifty Thursday and the Pin me linky party!

Halloween...frightful, yet delightful

It is getting chilly over night now...I guess it really is October!
My new sign is now available...."Halloween..frightful, yet delightful".

I love this saying!  It is perfect.
---------------------------------------------------
I love watching scary movies in October....
 The collector 1965 film poster.jpg
Last night on TCM (it is on demand)....one of my favorite creepy movies was on...The collector
This one is so scary because it could be done and has been really.
This man kidnaps this girl...thinking he can make her fall in love with him.
Film Review: The Collector | Grumpy Guy Cinema
The actors are superb!  You forget they are acting....I really feel for the girl.
The Collector Blu-ray - Samantha Eggar
She is a smart...tough girl....who does everything she can to get free.
If you have not seen it...you should...but I warn you...it is creepy for 1965.

Days of Heaven- a movie fav

One of the most beautiful movies I have ever seen is:
Days of heaven.
Yes...it's Richard Gere...back in the late 70's.
When you watch this.....your really appreciate living now... life is much more fair now.  People really had to work hard...just to survive!  But the movie shows how lovely life is...those simple moments that we overlook.

It features lovely music...Listen to the opening song

The cinema photography won an Oscar....they soooo deserved it!
Love the farm house....yes I will take that!  It needs a tree however!
Love the little girl in this...she is the narrator!
I won't tell you what happens....but it involves love, what is right, and the hard life of 1916.
I just thought I would share this with you...I will share more movie favs from time to time!  In the past I have talked about "Midnight in Paris" and "Picnic".  I love all kinds of movies!

Paris is always a good idea

What a gorgeous day it is today!  Sun is shining, temps are great....fall is lovely!
Here is my brand new, inexpensive stitchery design....
Audrey Hepburn said this....she had many great sayings and was a wonderful person.
I would love to go to Paris someday....have you gone to Paris?  Was it all that they say it is?
I have heard people say both yes and no.
I love the movie ...Midnight in Paris
If you haven't seen this one....check it out.....I LOVED it!!!
The girlfriend is horrid!
I also loved....Marie Antoinette!
It is a feast for the eyes!  I don't care if the story is alittle off....The beauty is worth it!
Do you have any favorite movies that feature Paris?

Titanic 3D...yeah!

We are going to see Titanic on the big screen today in 3D!!!  My daughter was born the year Titanic came out so she is super excited.  Here are some Watercolor paintings I did....when the movie came out....back then I was doing ebay....and I did lots of these paintings...all sold....forgot to save one for myself....big mistake!

All I have are some pictures and some scans.  It was fun though....I loved seeing the auction prices go up too.  Can't wait to see the massive ship on the big screen and see my daughter face as she watches!
Buttered popcorn anyone?!!!

Picnic- Best Labor day movie ever!

Every year when I was a kid there were 2 things to be excited for specifically on labor day....One was the Jerry Lewis MD telethon, which we stayed up as late as possible to see like it was some glorious challenge.
Another exciting thing about Labor day was...the movie "Picnic" would come on TV.  This was before a million channels, I think we had 6 or 7 channels.  Every year you could count on it!
This movie is so good....it all takes place on one day.  A drifter comes to town and changes everything for the small community.  I love watching the interesting characters, all the heartache they have in their different ways, but also the uniqueness of them all.  Yes, it is hokey, and is dated (love looking at peoples clothes, home decor, cars, etc.)  but it is fun and truly celebrates the holiday.  For me, I wish I had been alive in 1955, to experience this simple living...but then I soon realize I love the here and now!
Try to see this movie if you can!!!

The old days- back in the 60's & 70's

Remember these guys....the munsters?  How about the Adam's family tv show (not the movies)?  I loved Dark Shadows, although I had to watch them as repeats....since I was born in the latter part of the 60's.  These were great shows...how come they never play them anymore?  I try to tell my 13 year old about them and the style of the times....she is very interested.  I still have my dark shadows game and we like to play it...very spooky...but a bit like candy land....lol.  I wanted to be Lily munster, because she was pretty (in her way) and she was way smarter than anyone else...lol.  I always wondered in Herman could get any dumber....and oh yeah, he could!  I much prefer all the older hokier scarier movies ...to the new slasher, blood and killings of todays scary movies.  I will watch a vincent price or peter cushing movie any day....rather than the newer stuff.  But I must admit, I liked "the ring".  :)
