Kettle & Thanksgiving ideas

This week's freebie is "K is for kettle". My grandma always had a kettle on....because it was always tea time!  She came from Scotland and so did my father....tea was big for them and my dad always has tea when he comes over for a visit.  He is into green tea now.  All the letters of the alphabet will be given as a freebie...we are at about half way now.  For earlier letters ...go back to my past Friday posts.

Next week will be: "L is for ____"
Be the first to guess the correct answer to what "L" could stand for ....and you will get a sweet prize.  Just make your guess in the comment section of this blog post.
One guess per person to make it fair!

The next holiday is THANKSGIVING!

I have created quite a bit in the Thanksgiving department.
I love the homey feel.
Above is my owl embroidery....this is a little guy...very fast!
This "Hello Autumn" is a combination of embroidery and working with soft wool.
These wool pins use up your scraps!
This is a simple design, makes a great table mat.
My turkey....this always gets lots of attention!  I have a lot of techniques in this pattern.
All these patterns, signs, flash cards and collage sheets are in my etsy shop.

This Turkey embroidery had a pocket for thankful tags...you and your family write down what you are thankful for and keep it in this leaf pocket.
Easy to print and frame signs.
I always get frames for these at the dollar tree/dollar store.
Tags....made from vintage photos.
Flash cards...so sweet around your decor or on your plate/ napkin ring.
These are large ones....so fun to have your guests holding one of these for a photo.  Makes for a fun photo prop.

My new thanksgiving ornaments....8 different designs.
I love me some pumpkin pie...reminds me of mom soooo much!
Fun subway sign...bright and cheerful.
The leaves in this picture are so pretty....I don't think my maple tree was as pretty this year.

Badges...so fun to wear on thanksgiving.
These are mini badges....so cute on a doll, at a place setting, on a fabric pumpkin.
One of my favorite shows is a Charlie Brown's thanksgiving....I just love watching snoopy set up the table...cracks me up!

Have a very Happy Halloween...stay safe and enjoy.

Witchy goodness!

I know it is super duper close to Halloween...but I had to share some last witchy goodness!
Above is a delightful vintage drawing of a witch!  Slightly goofy and a little nutty.
I used to cut witch on broom silhouettes from black construction paper when I was a kid.
Good times.....making our own decorations.
This is my plastic witch I always put out in my pots of flowers.
She is grumpy and mean....but she never fades.
She is like a gnome.

This one is some art deco goodness.
She is glam and looks like she might have known the Great Gatsby!

I have been watching all my favorite hokey Halloween movies from the 60's....usually hammer films with peter Cushing and Christopher lee.
I also love Vincent Price.....just watched "Twice told tales"....pretty good!
I love roasted pumpkin seeds and enjoying these flicks.

We are going to have those pumpkin shaped pizza's on Halloween....can't wait!

Turkey time ornaments - new pattern

Thanksgiving is now just around the corner!
I have a new design...just finished...
Thanksgiving ornaments and banner patten #342.
These chenille stem ornaments have a vintage flair...plus they are fun, easy, and quick to make. You can make them in black, orange, brown or yellow....whatever chenille stem color you like.
All the artwork for 8 different designs are included! There is a couple turkeys, pumpkin pie, a squirrel, leaf, cat Indian, mouse in acorn and a cornucopia.
It is now in my etsy shop!
This is the collage sheet you get with it!
Sweet kitty cat Indian.
Yummy pumpkin pie...all my own artwork.
This mouse is in an acorn!
There are also banners: Gobble gobble, gather together, let's get stuffed, gratitude, pumpkin pie, give thanks, autumn leaves, and turkey time.

Finished design measures: 6" x 6", not including hanger
The artwork could also be used as tags.

I am getting excited to decorate for thanksgiving!

Little things to make it all easier

It's a lovely fall day today.
Leaves are falling like snow.
I have been using a lot of little gadgets to make life easier around here.
They all come from Deflecto!
Above is their chalk board sign....normally in rectangles....I cut this one with scissors..into a sweet leave.
With their chalk paint pen (which is erasable with water)....I scribbled on "Give Thanks" and added some dots!
They would make great Thanksgiving day place cards for your dinner guests.
Here are some clear pockets and a pear clip...perfect to store some of my Christmas ACEO's.

This makes it protected, yet easy to see and find!

On the opposite side of my red and green ACEO...I put my blue wintery ACEO's.
So much fun!

I made these using old photos, pretty papers, and printed out words and phrases.

Here is a plastic chalk board sign....I just wrote out my favorite saying...."Once begun is half done"..... and then added flowers, squiggles and dots with the chalk paint pen.
This saying really motivates me to just get going.

I love tags....I can't stop making them and collecting them.
I just string them onto a pear clip from Deflecto and they are all together.
They stay organized and nice this way.

So sweet this way!
I have also been using the pear clip for clipping together my patterns....you could clip your collection together!  They are easy to hang on a peg this way.

These gadgets are so handy!

I have a fondness for all things French....here I used the sign holder and made a sweet little piece of art...Marie Antoinette with a glittery muslin banner saying "Dream it".

Here is a side view.  It is plastic and easily holds small signs and paper.

I made a sign for my dishwasher....It stays on with the magnetic clamp.
The sign was fun to make.

I am always wondering if the dishes are clean or not.

See how this works....very handy.

Here are a few pics from my recent Quilt show .
It was so hard to fit all my samples and patterns into my booth.
These clamps worked great to hang up unusual items.
It made it alot easier.
Also at the Washington state quilt show...I used the double clamps to hold a sample (A Happy New Year door hanger) and a pattern on top of a turn style.

People could really see everything well.
The magnetic clamp was so handy on my metal cabinet I brought to the quilt show. It helped hold small quilts....to sort of fill a hole in my display.
I hung my "She lingers in the garden" quilt with the clamps and had the pattern nearby using the magnetic clamp. It is really hard to pack so many samples and patterns in one booth, but the Deflecto products made it much easier.
So I have been a busy girl.
Now .....I need to finish up a cool Thanksgiving ornament pattern.
So much to do!!

Each week is another letter of the alphabet....which you can find on previous fridays. I always list a freebie on fridays.  This would be so sweet made into a snack mat.

Next week will be: "k is for ____"
Be the first to guess the correct answer to what "k" could stand for ....and you will get a sweet prize.  Just make your guess in the comment section of this blog post.
