Sweet floral bookmarks

Happy Leap day!!
This day only comes every four years...so enjoy it.
I decided this day need a little gift!
I made these bookmarks and I want to share them with you!!!
**for personal only only
They look like this after downloading and printing them!
Just cut out and add string, yarn or ribbon.
I put a tassel on this one...
All the artwork was done on Adobe illustrator...using my newest repeat pattern....wild florals.
I covered these books for quilt market a few years ago....just old wallpaper.
The books looks so much nicer now...hahaha.

I was in desperate need for some bookmarks for some magazines I was reading and I wanted to keep my spot.  I have a bunch of bookmarks somewhere...I am always trying to organize and then I don't know what great place I put them at.
Need to know How to make a tassel?
Here I added purple ribbon....
Relax and accept the crazy....one of my favorite sayings right now!
Encourage silliness....I always do!
Enjoy this unusual day!!!

Organizing buttons!

I love organizing my big collection of buttons. It so wonderful to have them separated by color....I am always looking for specific buttons. Here I filled up all these containers - the carousel rotating containers with buttons
All these wonderful organizational products come from Deflecto!

I added a cardboard roll (tp) in the center of the carousel rotating organizer. My scissor fit nicely in the center....and I love adding more supplies such as a measuring tape, pincushion and thread.
Look at all my lovely buttons....I am in button heaven!  I need some more black buttons....I use them the most.  Pink is a close second.

I used to have them in jars....but they are hard to get you fingers in and see what you want.  These containers are easy to get your hands in.
Here are the stackable cube organizers....perfect for my mailing counter.
It is amazing how organizing these areas can cut down on time spent looking around for the right supplies.
I always need things handy ...otherwise I forget I even have them!
They are cute!
I am always adding strings to things....taping packages, trying to make the things I mail sweet.

There are the Craft tilt bins.....I love these!
I have my labels, clips, hole punches, strings, and rubber bands....all which I use daily.

These make my work space clear and uncluttered.
This is so handy for me....an outdoor business card holder.
I put it up on my studio door....perfect for when someone comes and I am not there. The first business card fits in the front....perfectly displayed with all the info and all showing.

Things are looking pretty darned sweet in my studio!

Wendy Walnut Pin - vintage fun

This is so funny.....grab your walnuts now!
This is a vintage kids project.
I LOVE seeing the crafting world of long ago.....after all if they didn't start with these projects, we would never have advanced to others.
Can you imagine actually wearing this....and having a friend say ..."Oh wow....I love your lapel pin!".
But if your child made it, then it would be lovely.

Had to share this with you!

Back to School freebie

Yay!  It's Freebie Friday!  It's time for Back to school....new clothes, new supplies, and new friends.  My daughter is entering high school...ninth grade...yikes!  She is really excited and has already got her class schedule which she loves!
This design would look soooo cute stitched up on black fabric and using white floss.  It would look like a chalk board!  You could use the old marking paper we used to use in Home Ec. to mark the design.
It would also be sweet for a teacher gift.... as a pin.
It is finally cooling off around here which is so exciting...too many days above 90...for me!!!
I have a new computer...since I was always fighting my old one.  It is great but I have to learn more things.  I threatened my old computer and now it is trying to be nice....ha!  I think my old computer put up with alot from me...he he he.
Have a good one!!!

Come to the coolest party at ....Whipperberry friday flair

Making Christmas projects with an old quilt

I had this quilt that wasn't really old, but had seen better days...it kept splitting at the seams and such.  I decided it was time to craft with it.  I took pieces of it and gave it the strong coffee treatment and let dry.  I love making tags....and I always use my copies of old photos I collect.  Just by adding a Santa hat...she looks ready for Christmas.  This is a simple bag shape, with wire hanger and glued on cotton batting for a trim.

This one is very similar to the first one...I added a yarn and cheesecloth covered wire (candy cane).  I added some old pine twigs.

I love using old candle stick stands from goodwill.  I made a star shape with open bottom, stuffed it, and then plunked it down on the candle stick stand.  Add a tag and wrap with string.
I have made alot from this quilt and still have more to use.  It is the never ending quilt!

Summer ROCKS!!!

Here is a project for you and your family.....take all those rocks you collect ...you know...when you are at the river/lake/walks.....and turn them into pretty gifts.  We all do it don't we.  I must say Jenny Doh inspired me to make these...she is so creative.

Clean your rocks with a hose and let dry.  Add a layer of gesso/white paint to top of rocks only.

I type in words and sayings on a word program...with different fonts.  Print out on cream colored cardstock.

Mod Podge the words and sayings on the rocks and let dry.

Get out your permanent markers and do squiggles, lines, and doodles.

Spray rocks lightly at first with clear gloss spray paint.  Then add another coat, let dry, turn over and spray backs.

They are cute and shiny now!

I love these lil guys....talk about economical!!!!  These inspire and make you smile!
