Congrats graduates...fun idea!

Can you believe it is already time for this year's graduates to graduate?
Seems like this spring has went really fast.
Are you needing an idea on how to decorate for the big Graduation party?
For this easy project...I used a few supplies...
A Deflecto wet erase board in the stand....
Deflecto's cool and bright markers for chalk boards.
Party streamers
and tape or glue.
This is how the sign looks undecorated.
It is double sided....it looks the same on the back as it does on the front.
I am a big fan of party streamers...
they are sooo inexpensive and easy to get in any color.
I cut a 4 inch piece....then cut three slits longways in the strip.
I put many colors together and did the same thing to all of them.
You can make this much thicker by adding many more strips.

I just rolled up the non cut end. Glue or tape to secure.
I scrunched up the party streamer ends with my fingers...lightly.
These markers are so bright and much nicer than colored chalk...
they erase easily with water and paper towel.
I wrote my message and added the pom pom's to the sign.
Choose your school colors!
The sign is great all year round....for whatever you want to use it for.
Here I wrote a to-do list.
I can see me using it for funny messages to my daughter....
personalizing it for birthdays....
changing it for all the holidays....
welcoming guests to the party...
Etc...

Next year my daughter will be the graduate....her colors are orange and black....
wow time flies!

Mom...let's celebrate

I love Mother's day...it was a sweet time back when I was a kid...coming up with a card or gift for mom.  Then when I got older us kids would out our money together for a better gift...lol.
One year she wanted a wicker patio set....we all made it happen.
It was fun to see her excited face...she just loved that wicker!
Now she has been gone a long time....17 years...the same age my one and only child is...17.
When my daughter came into this world...my mother left 20 days later.
She had a terminal lung disease.
It think of her alot...hoping she is proud.
----
Now I get the gifts....and it is so sweet.
I love how my husband and daughter spoil me...can't wait for May 10th.
These are some of my Mother's day products/projects in my etsy shop.
My collage sheet tags are so sweet....all these tags fit on one sheet.
You can print them over and over....add string and ribbons.
I use old photos, paper and create my artwork...
Sassy.....and sweet
I love this.....so true!
Cute!
Being a mom is tough yet so rewarding
Exactly!!
I added this tag to a can that I covered in vintage book paper.
This one I added to a huge jar of clothespins.
I have badges for this time of year...a pattern to make all of these.
The best mom in the whole world award.
Also is fathers day, birthday, super kid, and wedding....
This pattern has four embroideries...
Thans mom...I put this one on a wooden spoon.
Flash cards....they make sweet banners.
My newest sign....made with my surface designs...

Here is my mom...back in the early 50's. She was so pretty.
I put her picture in a Deflecto frame....and added a simple "Mom" banner.

Here is a little freebie for you!

Happy Monday!

Easy to do magnetic pinkeep & more!

I've been busy crafting...it's so much fun to get out all your supplies and play around.
Above is a cute magnetic pin keep....I made this from the Deflecto magnetic sheet.
I covered the top of this paper mache box with a circle I cut out from the magnetic sheet.
This is a 3" paper mache box.
I glued pretty paper of top of the magnetic circle...then glued (hot glue) it to the top of the box.
I also glued (this time with a glue stick)...the pretty paper on the side.

I added trim and an orange seam binding bow with a vintage button.
This would be great box to hold some small thread or buttons.
Then I decided to make my own mini art portfolio.
These are some clear pouches....they fit anything 5" x 7"...which was perfect for my watercolor paintings that happen to be 5" x 7"!
I made the cover in adobe illustrator...using my surface pattern design that you have probably seen me use over and over.
The pouches will be available before long from Defecto
This makes a handy way to protect the art...but to be able to show it off very easily!
It can stand or lie flat.  I tied a bow in the center with scrunched seam binding ribbon...it holds the booklet together.
It also can be spread out like this.
I think it turned out real sweet!

Now I am going to get caught up on some painting classes...
before my daughter and husband get home and all the noise begins!

Sassie Lassie...fun projects

I have some fun projects to show you...perfect for the beginning of March!
I love the chance to use the color Green...it is vibrant, so springy and always reminds me of grass growing and leaves coming on trees.
I made up some St. Patrick Day decor!
This is a 3 sided frame from Deflecto....
See the side shot?
Each panel side fits a 4" x 6" photo or piece of artwork.
I had a blast using scrapbook paper and some circle artwork I made that was originally for badges. I just glued the circles onto the pretty paper and slid it in.   I Tied up the frame with seam binding and filled in the center with flowers and shamrocks.
This is a collage of the pictures of all 3 sides.
Here is the "O'dorable" side...
It was so easy and fast...it was decorated before I knew it.
Irish...for a day!
This lady probably had a tough life...aww ...what women before us had to do so that we could have a better life.
Here I took a green frame....I put an old picture from the antique store (the hair cracks me up) in it and added a chenille stem shamrock and my flashcards with gold coins.
Hot glue is my bestie!
I have had these gold coins for years...just waiting to be used on a projects like this....
I love it when you have just the right embellishment tucked away for a future project.
Here is one of the smaller clear frames from Deflecto...I added washi tape that looks like a measuring tape. I then added a bow made from a real vintage measuring tape and the thimble on the bow is the thimble from a monopoly game.
I also added a tea-dyed muslin banner that says "Create". The photo is another antique store picture.
The washi tape is super easy to use...just stick it on!
Isn't this a sweet looking lady...I imagine her as a quilter.
----------------------
Hope you had a terrific weekend!
March is here!!
Spring is right around the corner.
We already have tulips up (no buds yet) and the daffodils have buds.

Life is good!

Last of alphabet series & MORE!

It's is Friday!!  Yay!
Here is today's freebie!  It is the very last in the series.

It is "Z is for Zebra"
Remember ...these would be sweet to stitch up in a kids quilt or on lil pillows.  For earlier letters in this series...go back to my past Friday posts.  They were posted every Friday...the last in the series being today.  Fun to color as well. Copy and save.
Here is a fun little Valentine gift for you...
an inspiration sign!
I believe when you see inspiring quotes, signs, and poster....they go into your brain...and
then the magic happens.
The background of the sign is part of my steampunk valentine repeating pattern I made.

I challenged myself by entering a spoonflower fabric contest.
I entered with a different color combination.
I am just starting this process here.
I firmly believe in just jumping in....
things don't have to be perfect before you try...
If we waited for everything to be perfect, then we would never try anything.

I wanted to show you the gals I am with on the Deflecto Design Team!
We have a blast designing with products from Deflecto.
Marilyn is the head of the team!
This is one item I have designed with using Deflecto products...
it is a large clear stand up frame.  I made it into a necklace holder display...by simply putting in pretty scrapbooking paper and using vintage clothes pins.  To see more that I have done

Have a fabulous Friday!
