Great Pumpkin on the shelf

This little guy reminds me of the elf on the shelf, but instead he is
Great Pumpkin on the shelf...watching all the kiddos and making sure they are good all October..lol!
He is made from Selina's pumpkin design shape (for the head) and chenille arms and a little spool.
The spool is wrapped in a small strip of fabric.
I have had lots of wooden spools in my stash (you probably do to)....no thread on them anymore, but still cute!  I wrapped mine in halloween fabric....so cute.
This was my inspiration....a sweet jar of fabric covered spools.
I love how cheerful they are!
The best thing is it takes the tiniest scraps.

Just measure the inside areas so you can cut the right width.

Thank goodness for these rulers and rottery cutters.

Its so easy to make perfect strips.

Just wrap and glue with tacky white glue.

These spools make the perfect doll body.
*************************************************************

He has a frown, because he wants some music...but you can certainly stitch a smile on him instead if you like...just by turning the frown upside down.  (Corny alert!)

Each Halloween embroidery doll pattern comes with the directions to make a companion quilt.
Franky likes stripes.

Currently there is a witch and pumpkin as well....with their quilts.

Franky is carrying his treat container...a little pumpkin.

Next is the ZOMBIE girl...coming very soon!
After that...a vampire!

I hope you have a great summer weekend.
Watch out for those bees!

Valentines...a wonderful season

Tis the season to be...
in love!
This is a closeup of my embroidery design... "Love...Be mine"

The pillow turned out sweet and is really easy to do.
The hearts on the left side are wool...secured with buttons!

Do you remember the song "Don't go breaking my heart" ...by Elton John?
I remember singing to it...loved it.
I like to add a little glitter to a pillow tuck...no one will lay their head on it and it adds a little sparkle to the piece.
Sweets for the sweet...I love kittens.
My cat Trix has green eyes.
This design has a small pouch for suckers or treats to be in.
Here is the whole design...with some rick rack embellishment.
Sometimes I like a super easy project...like these chenille stem ornaments...that has the artwork included in the pattern.
I drew the artwork up in adobe illustrator....then colored them and then made them into the circle pieces of the ornaments.
This is what the sheet looks like.
They also come with the banners and you can make the ornaments into star shapes or hearts.

This kitty cat is very whimsical...made from wool felt and chenille stems for arms and legs.
She is holding a sweet valentine...that says "Love U".

This pattern comes with all the old photos...plus lots of sayings and words.
The shapes include hearts and envelope (open and closed).
This large patchwork heart is an eye catcher...comes with pics too, plus the cool banner.
It has moss and sweet Annie...but could be filled with other florals.
One of my first designs .... is still a favorite.
The valentine bouquet is super quick, yet striking.
I am a big fan of Raggedy Ann....she was a doll I played with alot and of course her man, Raggedy andy.  Here she is as a cupid.  This pattern comes with 2 other projects too.
This is my Cross-stitch design..."With fond love"....it also comes with the red hearts with cheesecloth hearts.
This mini pillows are so cute....and very easy!
They make great ornaments and shelf tucks.
Look at the little snowman in the middle!
This is a close up of my Valentine treasure pocket pattern.... I love the pocket with a string of white buttons.
The heart is big and reminds me of the candy boxes of the past...with crepe paper type fringe....the fringe is really party streamer.
You get the artwork shown but you could also fill it with your own mementos!

Hope your Wednesday is wildly Wonderful!

Mushrooms ..freebie

Mushrooms...or should I say toadstool.
Either way, I can imagine a fairy or gnome under one.
Have fun with this freebie.
It is gonna be hot this weekend in Washington state....87 on Saturday!
Gonna break out my fans.
This is a sneaky peak of  my next pattern.
This is one of eight.
Patriotic ornaments....artwork will be included.
Just sharing some of my cloud pics....I am always amazed by clouds and how they get the look and shape they have.
We have tons of farm land near Spokane....almost looks like big sky territory.
Seems like succulents are all the go these past few years.
These came back from last year.  I planted them in an old ironstone pan.
I just put the whole pan in the shed all winter....then pulled it out.
They were fine.
I wanted to share with you some projects I made using Deflecto frames and Hot off the Press pretty papers.

On this frame I used HOTP 4235 and 4239 papers. I took an old photo (from my collections

of pics) and gave her

wings from the papers ...then glittered her wings and hair.

I used the HOTP "On the Butterfly wings" 4235 papers. I took an old photo added the

pretty papers and a saying. I punched out a flowers and leaves with the papers too and

added it to the outside of the frame.

These were super easy and quick.
I love how these ladies look like they are going to doing some shopping....or maybe...just change the world!!
------------------
I better get to the Garage sales....my sis wanted to hit some today!
I also want to see the new movie "Far from the madding Crowd".
Gotta run!
