Hearts hearts hearts...

I am just really getting into hearts and with that comes 

VALENTINES.

I stitched this up...it will be one of 12 designs in my new pattern...

for embroidery necklaces.

They are put in my daughter's (did I tell she is a senior in high school?) mini hoop pendant blanks.

This bird in another design that will be in the pattern.

My pic is alittle dark....I was just too excited to share this, when I should have fixed the photo. 

There are lots of birds out lately...I think they want spring...and so do I!

My daughter put this star necklace in her shop...simple and sweet.

She made a five pack...now she has where you can buy a single pendant blank with chain, a 3 pack and a five pack.

I am so addicted to these guys...and I couldn't be prouder of my daughter!

I have been working on my illustrator skills...turning my pen and ink drawing into a colorful design.

This is my drawing....which I had as a freebie last year.

It would be cute stitched up into a wearable pin!

I worked in illustrator to colorize it and then went nutty switching colors and saving everyone!!

The original colors were the top left one.

Oh man...I could do this 24/7!

If you want to learn repeating pattern design or more of adobe illustrator...I highly recommend Bonnie Christine's classes in both Creativelive and skillshare.

She is soooo generous with her information.

You need to be computer savvy and either have adobe illustrator or try the 30 day free offer of illustrator.

I have a hp PC, not a mac...so you can have either to do this.

I love owls and this guy is a real sweetie.

Look at the feet!

This design could be used for a ton of projects....I think a pillow with a patchwork border would be excellent.

On another note...

I love this saying below.... 

It reminds me of my daughter Selina...

My daughter is 18... she has the smallest hands....they are cute and tiny....

But my daughter is FIERCE.

I had to create a sign of it. 

But then I couldn't make up my mind about the colors.

I love this red too. 

Looks very Valentine....but that wasn't my intention.

Selina liked the pink the best and she normally would pick red any day.

So I made it in three colors.

They are all in my etsy shop.

I think the saying comes from Shakespeare.  

I have been creating in adobe illustrator...this little girl with the drooping bleeding hearts came from a tiny drawing I did. I just added some colors...in different combinations.

Now she is ready to be made into something...maybe some cool tags.

This also was a small drawing....a heart on a spool of thread... kind of like a "make do".

I could change colors on these all day!

I would like this element on fabric.

I drew the monster in the summer...then added these valentine colors the other day.

When I drew it ...I was thinking Halloween, but now they don't seem like that at all.

I also made my daughter Selina an Etsy banner for her new shop....

She wanted it to be very floral...so I made it in many colors and she picked this one.

I have been stitching up the rest of the designs for a pattern that will go with her lovely mini hoop pendant blanks.

There will be 12 designs in one. 

This deer will be in the pattern.

She gives one design (shown below) and a "How to" sheet when you purchase any of her mini hoops.

I am now stitching up a fun pumpkin for fall, a rose design and another design where you can have your initials or monogram.

Mini embroidery hoop pendants

Hello!

It's finally the new year!

Did you have a good holiday?

I did...soooo busy....so it is good to be back to normal.

My daughter has opened up her new etsy shop:

Selina Hudson Designs

She makes the wooden pendant blanks above.

I stitched up some designs....which will be a pattern soon! 

She is a senior in high school and will graduate this June.

She cut these wood pendant blanks..which are perfect for framing embroidery designs.

She sell some in a pack of 3. 

This "Paris" one is for sale...a sweet vintage fabric with the word paris. 

This one she made says "Cutie" 

Another is a drawing on muslin...just in time for Valentine's day. 

She sells some as a single with the chain.

When you buy any of her pendant blanks...you get a "How-to" sheet and this "Hello" pattern design above.

She made this one with a paper flower. 

She didn't want to sell this...but she can make another for herself....lol.

This design will be part of my pattern... 12 designs in one. 

There will be a deer, some Christmas, valentines, a birdie, pumpkin, and many more.

Some designs will have the capability to put initials or letters in them...you will see.

Gotta get to work on it!

Fresh Start freebie!

I am ready....nice to get back to the usual routine.

I love the holidays....so many special moments....but

you can't have that lifestyle forever because then it wouldn't be as special anymore!

This saying cracks me up....it is one of my signs....pretty funny!

I am not sure what kind of resolutions I will write up....gotta brain storm!

This was my best nine instagram photos this year....which really means the photos that got the most "likes".  I started instagram during the year not knowing much about it...but I sure love seeing all the inspiring pictures and it really is fun to look at...especially when you are bored stuck in a line or something.

While my sister was in town ...we had an artful day!

I like thinking about the next big holiday.

This drawing is done with a stabilo pencil...not erasing using this medium....so when you make a mistake...it becomes part of the art.

I had fun with aceo cards....they are blank paper the size of a playing card.

I used prisma colored pencils to get some nice blending.

Here I was waiting for my daughter to get back from Skiing....so I drew the Queen of hearts!

She is pretty fancy and a little prissy...oh well.

Hope 2016 starts out great!!

My daughter made the mini hoop pendant blank from wood...I stitched up the Merry Christmas...She will soon be selling her mini hoops and I will be selling a pattern with lots of designs for the pendants.

Christmas has put us behind on getting them in the shops...I guess we were having too much fun!

It is a White Christmas for us this year....we haven't had one for several years...now we have lots of snow!

Old man winter is here!

Has old man winter hit your area?

It has here in the pacific northwest....we are going to have a White Christmas!!

We have not had one in several years.

My family had a progressive party last night...where you go around to each house to see the decorations and have food...it was so much fun and we watched a funny Carol Burnett Christmas special and then played lots of games...very fun to get together,

We want to stay home on Christmas and just have fun at home....with all this snow!!

By the way...with all the Star wars hoopla....I wanted to share my Xmas 1977 picture...I am the one with red hair and the Star Wars t-shirt!  My sister Julie there made all the stockings...and I still have the my ballerina stocking!

Seeing this brings back so many fun memories!!

It is funny how a picture just brings it all back.
