Sitting Puppy Dog Freebie

Happy Friday!!!
Wow....these weeks keep flying by and it is now practically the end of the year!!!
Why did time go by so slowly as a kid?
I love drawing cats....just because they turn out pretty cute, but I decided I needed to draw some dogs.
I usually really struggle with dogs...but I am not giving up!
My dog "Sugar" was an amazing collie...she was our dog when we were growing up.
Years later we had "Linus" and he was a treasure...a german sheppard husky mix...I miss him alot.
Now we have 3 naughty cats!
Just copy and save....then print it out.
This design would make a great mini wall hanging.
Please tell your buddies about my freebies...they come out every friday.
You can pin it on pinterest...or share on facebook!

If you want to get my blog posts by email...sign up ...it is on the left side bar of this post.
It is an easy way to always get the freebies...so you won't forget.

Being thrifty~making pendants from scraps

Hey ladies!
I have been SO darned busy the last few weeks...I have had zero time to have fun and play!
What with graduation stuff and huge orders....and lots of tasks in between, I felt like I was always doing something that had to be done
Until now~
I made some fun pendants...and they could be key chains too.
My daughter makes these mini hoops.
Some times the outer hoop part doesn't make it though "Quality control".
The inner circles always make it....so she has lots of the middle circles.
I hated seeing them sit around.
I decided I needed to play around with them.
I drilled a hole and got out my papers.
I have lots of paper punches that I already punched out....another thing just laying around for a long time.
I decided to glue them....mod podge them.
This shot is in mid process....I also decided I wanted them double sided... a design on each side that is different.
Here is a sweet butterfly!
I found some phrases I had typed up on my old typewriter...cut them out and glued.
This chickie poo has a chick on the other side.
I sprayed some gloss spray on them ...both sides and added a jump ring.
This is three layers of paper punch flowers.
This is easy enough for kids to do!
They were addicting to make and it was fun to get back to crafting up a storm!
With all the pretty papers out there...can you imagine the possibilities?
There is also great digital art on etsy....like bottle cap circles.
I even just paper punched old scrap papers...which is the bottom beige circle.
This only took me a couple hours to make a whole bunch.
But more importantly...I felt artsy again...it revived me and made me feel inspired.
If you want to do something like this and need wooden circles...hobby lobby has them in their wood section.

What a cute box topper and handy to store little supplies or treats. This punches up fast and is very easy. The box is paper mache (1 Dollar at jo ann fabrics). The gold trim is lovely....just a scrap needed.
Here I have the owl in the center of a berry wreath...
You could change the colors as well and make it fit any home decor.
Finished punched design measures: 3 1/8" x 3 1/8".
I love using these little paper mache boxes with punch needle...they seem to go together very well!

This pattern will be ready tomorrow!
12 designs in one pattern...all the ones showed above.
The mini hoops are in my daughter Selina's etsy shop.
She makes them herself!
She cuts the wood and puts it together.... I am so proud of her....
Did I mention that she is in the 12th grade!
She has a business mind already.
I gotta show you my Valentine decorations next time!
Happy Sunday!!

Needle punch....Halloween?

I know...it is too early for Halloween!
But I had a sewing group to go to and had to bring something.
I really wanted to do something different and something that was not my own design.
So I found a kit I had from Brenda Gervais
I had made one of the designs years ago...and two were still in the kit.
Here is a midway through picture...we had lots of fun with all the ladies chit chatting ...it was almost is hard to work on anything...lol.
Here is what is looks like where you punch the needle in.
This is the kit/pattern.  I already made the lower pumpkin.
I only have the turkey left.
I used DMC floss.
It is hard to see....but the orange background has varying colors of orange...which is rich looking.
So when I finished it...I added it to this small basket...added some crazy black fringy yarn around it.
I also added a pin that says"Eek!".  It is just a scrap of muslin...stamped with the letters....glittered up a bit and glued onto the top of a pin.
