Have you ever tried punch needle?
It is so much fun to do...alittle addicting really.
It is a needle tool that feeds embroidery floss in it....and it is like rug hooking but mini style.

My daughter has a cool paddleboard design...that looks like a prim butter or cheese plate....
and it is for necklaces!
The punch needle is small and easy....but super quick!!!

I need to make a Christmas design...that would be fun!

Oh how things have changed...

On May 19th 1536, Queen Anne Boleyn was beheaded in the Tower of London after being found guilty of treason and adultery. That was 478 years ago.

Oh how the world has changed.
Especially for Women!

Funny how Henry could cheat everyday....but when you want rid of a wife....just accuse her of cheating and other erroneous charges.
And it is done.
It would be so awful to die for no reason.
The trials were a joke.

I am quick to remind my daughter that women have only gotten certain rights in the last hundred years....and only in some countries....not the whole world.

When I think of Anne Boleyn...I think of a women that was different than others....strong willed,
wanting power, using some charm and wit....how dare her!  lol
آن بولين
She will forever be in history!

Sharing random stuff...

Sometimes I just like to share random stuff with you.
The pincushion I made above has a Tudor feel...just something I made from one of my old embroidered table cloths....I hoard these things.
I added a bottle cap pin and banner pin that says queen.
This items are on my Mrs. Tiddlemouse shop

This is another finished item...a vintage fabric mannequin dress form.

It has a tulle pink skirt ...a necklace, cameo, and banner pin.
This one is very pretty and girly!

I finished some more party hats...some for Easter.
I love the saying "Cutest egg in the basket".

I used some pretty cute fabric!

I love Alexander Henry fabric....so cool.

This on has a pink glitter frame around the word "Inspire"

This is my tree next to my studio.
This is also our never ending snow.
We had a muddy-brown Christmas....but now it is a
Marshmallow world.....go figure.
This is the little peaceful retreat between my house and my studio building.
The picnic table is just covered!
Usually the birds are having fun here...no birds in sight right now.
This is part of my backyard.
We have a marshmallow cooking pit....lol.
Covered of course.
I'm sick of this snow!
At least the sun is shining!

Survivor tonight......yes!!!!

Artwork in pendants

I love to paint and then think of all the things I could do with the artwork.
Here I painted the lovely Anne Boleyn and I put the image in a pendant.
Henry the eighth was such a tyrannical ruler
Everything had to go his way....and his way changed a lot!
I decided to she needed big eyes....since her eyes probably got real big when she was accused of treason.
I love cats....I have 3 tabbys!  This watercolor painting is on an atc card originally.
This cat also has big eyes ....big blue ones!
These pendants with necklaces are on my Mrs. Tiddlemouse etsy shop

I can't wait for Downton Abbey tonight....season premiere.  Hope it is as exciting as before.

Henry the eighth & me

Gonna have a good day to today....
It's my Birthday!!!  I'm 45.....yikes!  What a milestone.  That is me above...at Loon lake...in a dress my mom made.  I would love to go back and observe a day from my childhood....I would get to see my mom again!
I share my birthday with King Henry the Eighth!
I love the show "The Tudors"....might have to watch a couple episodes!

Gee....the actor looks so much more handsome than the real portrait of King Henry...surprise surprise....lol.
Gotta run....Have a good one!

Beautiful Anne Boleyn

I had to do my style painting of Anne Boleyn....Henry the VIII's 2nd wife who was unfairly beheaded.
I love painting huge eyes...don't know why... he he he.
This is a small ATC size painting.....had so much fun doing it.
I am a huge Tudor fan...I am so interested in all the politics and everyone's huge ambitions.  Let's face it....back then justice was not fair and it was best if you were safely away from court.

I have had a few rough days....things are looking up however and I am so grateful!
It is like the sunshine is pouring through and giving me new strength....hope everything is sunshiny for you too!

Come to Friday flair at Whipperberry!!!

My Tudor Make over

I wanted to show you my calendar make over for this year.  Every year my husband gets a work type calendar....one with semi trucks on it....I am a girly girl....I don't like trucks!  These calendars are great because they show 3 months at a time....love that.  So I feel compelled to cover up the trucks with something pretty.  Last year I made a tutorial on this...on left side bar.

I covered the trucks with old book pages and clip art of the the Tudors.  I am a fan of the Tudors long before the show.  I find them interesting because of the ambitions of everyone...it became their downfall.
I added a tag below Henry VIII....since he was the King.  I also glittered them up....love sparkling things up!
Now I can enjoy my calendar all year!

Spring arts and crafts show- spokane

Good morning!  I am just posting a few items that I made recently and were at a big craft show a couple weeks ago... I 've been meaning to show you, but our family was sick last week....now I have to take kitty Froy to the vet today :(
This is my Chocolate mouse (sold)...I wasn't sure I would like him when I was making him, but he was popular.

Here is my mouse holding felted egg (still available). ..I have it so you can take the egg from his hands when it isn't Easter time.

This little mouse is creative! I put him on a tuffet of the quilt block-cathedral window.  He is available too....just contact me if you are interested.  I also sell patterns for the mice too.

I love PARIS!  Using old music paper is one of my favorites.

I also love using my flash cards to make framed art.  This is one of my favorite sayings ever...it is soooo true!

I love "The Tudors" so I had to make king henry and anne boleyn.....on hearts with my crepe paper frills.

Here is some of my booth.....very girly.....but I can't help it!!

Here is my mannequin (my patttern) and flash card art.  Look how the mouse got into the picture...he is sneaky!
