One hundred years ago....

I have this cool magazine....

from May 1916!!

One hundred years ago....let's just say...the world was so different then. 

Union suits....never heard that term before...lovely ad however. 

Gold medal...it is still around...the company must have always had a quality product. 

My mom loved Crisco...she made some awesome food with it.

I don't buy it...but I know it is still in the tub.

Everyone had corns back then because they shoved their feet in tiny hard leather shoes...that probably came from a relatives hand me down.

Life for women sure was different...all you had to do was be pretty (if you were rich)...if you were not rich...life was hard work! 

I see the dress hem in high enough to see the shoes at this point.

What's happening....in 1913

I got a cool magazine....it's only 102 years old.

I love the fashions that were in it!

Just gorgeous!

This was right after the Titanic sunk....and there is an article in it about what happened to the

Astor baby.  John Jacob Astor died on the Titanic, but his pregnant wife made it.

I love Titanic....so I was in heaven to see this magazine for only 3 bucks.

Can you imagine stuffing yourself in a corset everyday?

These ladies definitely came from high class...they probably didn't do anything but charity dinners.

The outfits are cool...but soooo glad things have changed.

It just show you how different the world was 100 years ago.

Women were just ornaments.

Here they tell you how to get rid of cockroaches....

I have never seen one in Washington state....I did in Texas.....but I think cockroaches would laugh themselves to death with this tip!!

Crisco....my mom's favorite!

She made great chicken with it.

I took a pic of my daughter....and made the above fun piece.

You choose browse...it will ask you to choose your photo....then just start playing with all the options...it is addicting! 

I took my cat Froy and made it black and white...linen like paper background and then added fireworks.

I added a sticker of an eye patch to Trix...and made her into a pirate.

 

Here I used the collage button and made myself an ad for a magazine.

I made a special listing sign for my etsy shop...using the text button.

On these ornaments I made for a pattern....I added an overlay to give it a smoky border.

Here is myself in Andy style.

You can add text, borders, fix wrinkles with a heal button, change colors, make it look vintage....it just goes on and on.

There is no tutorial ....you just have to start trying things (play!)...and there is an undo button for mistakes!

Spring Special Quiltmania

I just love how everything is blooming outside...I have a Lilac bush next to my studio door (it just showed up as a seedling a few years ago!) and the smell is to die for!

Now my nose goes a little crazy from allergies...but I don't care...I love this weather!

This is the back cover....my project is the hoops saying...Home sweet home!

This is a French publication....the magazines are very high quality....good projects, nice thick paper, great photos!

This project is sooooo bright and cheerful....free motion sewing.....it is addicting!

Here is my ad...that I was proud to design myself....the more you learn on the computer the better I think. 

 Although I wanted to kill my computer about a month ago!

I feel like mine was alive with a nasty disposition...lol.
