One hundred years ago....

I have this cool magazine....
from May 1916!!
One hundred years ago....let's just say...the world was so different then.
Union suits....never heard that term before...lovely ad however.
Gold medal...it is still around...the company must have always had a quality product.
My mom loved Crisco...she made some awesome food with it.
I don't buy it...but I know it is still in the tub.
Great article about liquor!
If that doesn't scare you away, then nothing will..lol.
Sweet poem!
Funny poem...strange!
Some of the ads were in bright color...perfect for framing.
This tells you how to have a career with a camera...pretty cool!
There are lots of recipes...like this....notice the sandwich fillings like tongue.
I can't believe you would put tongue in a sandwich.
Nothing cozier than a corset when you are pregnant.
Heinz....love their Ketchup.
LOVE COKE!
I could use one right now.
OK, you could get a blouse for a dollar!
A brand new car for $695!
I know they made like 20 cents on hour or something...but wouldn't it be great to go back in time and buy a few of these.
Butterick!
So cool!
I don't need to say anything about this ad ...do I?

Everyone had corns back then because they shoved their feet in tiny hard leather shoes...that probably came from a relatives hand me down.

Cute...a catnip mouse...a classic!
Lets use this kids picture...even though his eyes are closed...lol.
I think the teeth are painted white!
Fashion!!
So elaborate and fancy.
I can barely wear a dress every once in a blue moon.
Life for women sure was different...all you had to do was be pretty (if you were rich)...if you were not rich...life was hard work!
I see the dress hem in high enough to see the shoes at this point.

Everything is so frilly and Lacy!

Here is a simpler frock!

These hats are pretty cool!
The last hat I wore was a pink air force baseball hat.

Cleaning is never "Play".
But it is always necessary.

Aren't you glad you are a 2016 person!

This and that!

Good Morning!
The sun is shining here....feels great...my cat is laying in the rays...life is good!
I just wanted to show you a little
this and that!
Above is the sweetest vintage heart chocolate box I got last weekend.  I went out with my sister, cousin and daughter.
It is crushed velvet and from the 1930's.
I also got a cute heart bling necklace!
I want to tell you...I do not have a green thumb...most plants croak soon after I get them....but I have kept this shamrock plant alive for over a year and it is blooming again!
This is something I am working on as part of a series....more details later!
I had to draw a silly rabbit!
I love drawing while watching silly tv shows I am addicted to...like the biggest loser.
This is my daughter Selina....she just did the artwork on her car's hood this weekend...
when she has an idea...she goes to town!  She is a huge Star Wars fan!
She just has a lot of artistry and courage. This was all free-hand.
She is selling her mini hoop pendant blanks through Checker distributor very soon!
She is selling wholesale.
This is her package cover.
She also sells on Etsy.
These are her hexies!
It comes with the bunny embroidery design pattern and a how to sheet.
Soon this large tag shape will come with the cat embroidery pattern.
And this is her five pack of mini hoops.
She also has a few other shapes....so creative!
I keep meaning to show how a store displayed it's paint colors...
so creative and cool.
My daughter got us some See's candy as an early Valentine present!
She is very generous!

Next  time I will share some vintage Valentines with you.
Good day!

It's not how much you have

True happiness is to enjoy the present, without anxious dependence upon the future, not to amuse ourselves with either hopes or fears but to rest satisfied with what we have, which is sufficient, for he that is so wants nothing. The greatest blessings of mankind are within us and within our reach. A wise man is content with his lot, whatever it may be, without wishing for what he has not.

My husband and brother-in-law are putting a new roof for my studio...they are working sooo hard and I am thrilled.
I will take pics of my studio when everything is moved and ready....can't wait!

Fuel your journey
