Illustrating a profile....

Recently I made an illustrated profile of myself.

I really hate all my pictures...they always seem not like the real me.

So I decided to give it a try and even though it is cartoonish...it fits me better than photos.

I used adobe illustrator and selected a photo and faded it.  Then I sort of traced over the image and colored it in.

Hey my wrinkles are not here....lol

Instant face lift....lol.

Plus art is an interpretation anyway!

I decided to wear my favorite color and have rosy cheeks.

I added a background circle of my surface pattern design and some extra flowers.  Then at the end added my name.

I love it and started using it on my instagram and facebook.

If you want to learn illustration on the computer....I highly recommend Bonnie Christine's classes on skillshare!  She teaches so much!

You need to be computer savy however.

I have a little Irish doll in my etsy shop.

She is a finished OOAK doll.

I gave her fun fluffy green (with a little white) yarn hair and there are two wool clovers in her hair. She has big raggedy ann eyes and a sweet heart mouth. 

Her simple dress is green with leprechaun hats....and a lace trim on her dress with a lace collar and wood green and blue button...plus lace on shoulders. She has a scrunched seam binding ribbon belt. Her legs are a fun green shamrocks design. She has a wool shamrock that says "Lucky" . It has a pinback , so that you can wear the pin if you like.

Yay!!

April is here....no more Winter for us!

We (the pacific northwest) have green grass....tulips...and all kinds of animals out and about.

This is my monthly marker for April...I put it on my instagram to keep track of time.

My cats have decided that it is time to roll in the dirt...they never stop annoying me!

Tinting ornaments

I want to show you how super easy it is to tint Selina's Wooden Christmas ornament blanks.

She cuts them from wood...but I thought these would look great in a color that would still show the wood grain. They come with a center of wood, which I put aside (they don't need a color, they will not be seen anyway)

Grab you watercolors...and water and a brush.

Dab on the get your paint wet with water and blob on!

It only takes seconds to cover one.

I love pink mittens.

Same goes for this ornament.... blue watercolor this time.

After I covered it ...I went back and gave an extra blob of paint on the dots and snowflakes.

They dry real quick.

If you want you could spray with a matte clear finish.....but I personally didn't do that.

These ornaments are easy to add photos to too.

I just took some off the computer...printed them off and cut them out and taped them to the back with strapping tape.

This is my daughter and her boyfriend.

The top center mitten is the untinted wood and the others are tinted.

I love them both ways.

Christmas Embroidery Ornament blanks!

I am so ready to decorate for Christmas!

I love when it is all up and sparkling....the getting it out takes courage...lol.

My daughter Selina has made some new designs....ornament embroidery blanks!

So darned cute!

They come like this...3 different ornaments in one pack.

You can leave them the natural wood or tint them. (The next blog post will be about tinting!)

Each one is individually crafted and so easy to add your design or embroidery to. 

Ornaments are:

Round measures: 2 3/4” x 3”
Curvy measure:3 3/4” x 2 1/8”
Long measures:3 7/8” x 2”

They come with embroidery designs and a small alphabet to personalize your own.

They are even cute just placing photo on them.

The top picture has Selina and her boyfriend Jaryd.

The left kitty is Froy and the right kitty is Princess Fiona.

They are even just adorable when you add just fabric....like this grinch design. 

I added a little glitter for fun.
