Studio ideas
Hi...right now I am moving my studio...after roofing it and cleaning, and preparing.....I am exhausted.
The main reason I am so tired...is because I had to move my hoard of supplies....and also we are moving my daughter to the basement...where it will be her bedroom and livingroom/teen pad.
These are not my pics ....I will post soon as I can. I just wanted to share some pinterest studio ideas....so much fun and inspiration.
These lovely ideas come from this board...click on it to get more info on these and where they came from. It is amazing how many wonderful blogs are out there...you just might find a favorite.
My studio just can't be as neat and tidy as these are....but I admire them. I sometimes wonder though....do these rooms get used or are they sitting perfectly for people to see when they visit?

I usually make things work from thrift store finds and some things I actually got when my mom passed. I don't like to have any debt....so I buy when I have the money...I sometimes have to wait a long time....but it is worth it.
Yummy vintage things! I told my daughter to not let me buy anything ...even at garage sales....I have too much.
Ribbons....I love them and I love every sewing gadget known to woman.
Cute! I have sooo many flash cards in my etsy shop/artwork line...but not these ...too cool!

Summer.....Oh the good old days
Wow....it has been hot in Spokane Washington.....and next week it will be hotter....upper 90's.
That is me on the right....in 1972. I have "Sugar" my dog next to me, and my sister Julie on the left. I have 3 sisters and one bro.
We are at deer lake....north of Spokane.
Remember the good old days....when you just played all day long.....everyone was safe....and there were no worries?
We went there many times....good memories.
When we were kids ....our family did not have enough money for chips, pop, snacks.....etc.
When we were hungry my mom told us to go eat a nice piece of toast.
There were never left overs and we went out to a fast food restaurant about 3 times a year.
You only got milk for your cereal and at school.
We had great holidays though....food and gifts a plenty.
I was my father's only child and the baby of the family. My mom raised us well and my father has been there for me all through the years...and still is!
Sometimes it seems like I have already had five life's worth of fun....and I will have a lot more.

Learn to Embroider
Hi everyone!
Today is a hot one in the Pacific Northwest....it is a perfect day to stay in by the air conditioner...watch some movies, and stitch away.
I love Embroidery!
It is so fun....you get fast results (as opposed to quilting and cross-stitch which take soooo much longer),
it is very portable...so you can bring it to games, by the pool side, to doctors appointments, and while on the road.
I want to share some links that are really good for the beginner and all of us who have been stitchin for years.
Sublime stitching has great examples and tutorials.
Martha Stewart has info that is good.
Needlenthread has videos of stitches
I always have a project ready and in a large clear bag I got from quilt store...keeps everything clean and easy to see.
Embroideries can be made into almost anything:
pillows
framed
part of a quilt
towels
shelf tucks (lil pillows that can be placed on a shelf or small area)
pin cushions
table mats
embellishments for clothing
in hoops and hung up
wall hangings
embellishments for wrist cuffs and jewelry
on tags
on and on.....
The more you do it...the better you get at it.
You should see the first embroidery I had ever done....I need to find it from my boxes.
It was of a kitty...it was horrible. The stitches were wildand uneven....I even got it dirty working on it.
I kept it though and it reminds me how far you can come!
I will try to find it and post it. Right now I am changing my studio from my basement in my house to the big building by my house...which we just reroofed.
I encourage you all to try embroidery....it is addicting however!

Frisky Feline
My cats bring me presents from the field near by....they are so sweet.
The high today is 100 Degrees here in Spokane....but my air feels fab.
Right now I am at war.....
with Prairie dogs.....they are a thorn in my side every summer.
They eat my flowers...dig holes and now are trying to dig by my house...yikes!
One of my cats chases them (the girl Trix)....but the boys (Froy and Lucky) just look at them.
If you know of any tips on getting rid of them...let me know.
