Do small things....

Sweet love and kindness....
This is my newest patterns.
Do small things with great love
Easy applique and embroidery pattern.
It is in my Etsy shop, patternmart, and my website
It is a very easy design....stitches up fast.
First I drew the design on brown paper....and framed it.
I liked it so much that I decided it would make a great embroidery.
I changed it up and made it into this new pattern.
This sweet Kitty cat is giving a small but lovely gift of love in a flower. What a fast, easy, and fun design to make for a gift or for yourself. This is the easiest of Dresden plate appliqués...all the details are included in this pattern. No turning appliques under or hard applications....raw edges showing is part of the charm of this pattern...so easy too.
Embroidery design measures: 3 1/2" x 4 1/2"
Finished pillow measures: 18" x 18"

This Saturday I will be showing you my studio....in pictures...
This is a sneak peak above....gotta keep cute dollies around.
So come back Friday for the freebie
and Saturday to see my studio!

On the cover of a Magazine

I am thrilled to be in yet another Quiltmania publication.
This time it is the Special children's magazine.....for kids decor....not for them to make.
My quilt is on the cover....the yellow quilt!

It's called "She lingers in the garden".  It is a bright and cheerful quilt....but any fabric choice would be nice.

There are lots of diagrams and full instructions with patterns.

I love how they show the contents....by image only....lol
There are lots of great projects...28 in all.
I'm sure this will be in Barnes and Noble soon.

It's funny...but after all this time....I still feel weird yet excited to see my name in print.
I have always loved my last name....my hubby has a good name.
My maiden name of Cowan was alright...just some confusion on how to say it.  My father's side comes right from Scotland.  My mom occasionally said she would have him deported if she got mad enough....sooo crazy!
There is no doubt how to say the name Hudson.

Gotta show you a sneak peak of what is soon to be a pattern...Sweet kitty cat ...can't wait.

I am also working on all kinds of Halloween designs....I am super excited about them.
They are turning out soooo cool!

I am always doing that which I cannot do, in order that I may learn how to do it.

Christmas projects for July

It is a scorcher outside today....so I went right back inside next to the air conditioner.
I am very thankful for the things we have!
I thought I might make some Christmas projects.
Here are some of my patterns from the past!
Wish upon a snowflake is above.

These embroidered Christmas ornaments will be featured in the Somerset holidays issue coming out later this year!

They are simple yet sweet....I stitched them in blues, pinks and greens for a soft look.

This is a real quickie...and just framed in the hoop I used to stitch it.

These frost fellows make kids smile....

I gave them a shabby chic look....but they would also be adorable in traditional colors.

I love bunnies....they are not just for Easter....lol

The fun wintertime wool pattern was in the keepsake quilting catalog when it first came out....I was so happy about that.

This is the second one I did.....I like the angel a lot.

This is the second pattern I ever made.  Easy embroidery and acrylic painting....painting it on like I would color with crayons....not hard at all.

I loved this one....it is near and dear to my heart.   I loved stitching it all up and making a cohesive quilt and pillow.

My french country burlap ornaments....very popular.

But so are the glitter retro ones too.  Crazy bright felt...reminds me of my childhood.

Needle felted designs and wool gingers....very fun

I made mannequins for everything...including a Santa one.  Very different

Ok....even Marie Antoinette needs a Christmas tree of shabby chic french ornaments.....right!

My prim stocking....with tag designs

The designs come in the pattern...you print...add a little colored pencil in areas for color....so easy

Raggedy Ann candy cane with mice quilt....she has them on her and in her pocket.

The huge candy canes are a huge hit.....much easier than it looks

Stockings, mittens , and stars for Christmas.  You get the photos.....but you could use your own family.

Candy cane for Santa

Christmas bouquet.....a prim stitchery.
These are only some of my Christmas designs.

Stay cool...think frosty thoughts!

Salt & Pepper freebie for tea

Here is the latest for the 7 week tea set freebie embroideries.....Salt and peppa.
Just click on it to see it larger...copy and save.
The other designs for the tea set are in my last several Friday post....and more will come each Friday.

My mom collected a whole plate/service set for her table at a local grocery store....each week one particular item would be on sale and then by the end of many weeks you had a nice set.
Ours had small dainty flowers and leaves....the salt and pepper above reminds me of them so much!
I inherited a 12 pieces set/service of purple Scottish thistle....my father and his family came from Scotland.  I never use it but have it on display.  I just never throw a big party that is fancy.

This is my brand new pattern:
Garden tags Faux cross-stitch Pattern
It is on my etsy, patternmart, and for printed/mailed patterns....on my website!

Make a whole garden of faux cross stitch flower tags. No counting threads like regular cross stitch! It's just an embroidery stitch....very easy! Pick fabric to match the flowers or use any fabric of your choice. Great for using up scraps.

There are 12 different flower designs in - Rose, pansy, daisy, lily, tulip, marigold, petunia, geranium, violet, sunflower, sweet pea and garden.

Make three sizes of tags that can be made from fabric scraps. Large (7" x 3 3/8"),
Medium (6" x 3 1/4"), Small (5 1/8" x 2 1/4")

Doesn't this look sweet with my petunias!
I have had this fabric forever...just waiting for a project like this.

It was super fun picking out the fabric for these....I didn't realize how many fabrics with flowers I had!

Also included is an entire alphabet in cross-stitch to make any word or phrase you like!!! Perfect for embroidering your family names, making a sampler, stitching inspiring words or phrases....etc.

An extra bonus that is included- easy paper tags of garden flower words to print.....just cut out, punch a hole in tag and add string or ribbon.

now to just keep the prairie dogs away from my petunias!

Hope you have a super Wonderful 4th of July!!!!
