Yarn kitty doll and party hats!

Say hello to my wild cat...yarn doll!
I recently got an elf ornament at an antique store....
and wanted to make my own.
But I didn't know how.
So I looked on Pinterest and found a great website...Krokotak.com
It is specifically here!
This diagram was handy.
I added a felt kitty face with a little embroidery....paws (pink paint for pads), tail and center heart.
I choose some yarn I had ...a multi color soft yarn.
I think you could add any face...clothes...shoes...to make it different.
I may need to make it in Valentine colors...I will show you if I get it done soon.
--------------------------------
I recently went to a party after Christmas but before New Years...my daughter and I needed something fun to wear...so I whipped these up...using my festive party hat pattern.
This was Selina's....she loves bright girly colors.
For the trims I used: yarn, scrunched seam binding, tulle, fabric scraps, and strings!
For the banner I just stamped out a saying on white muslin...Party girl.  Then I cut it into banner shapes...added glue around the edges and dipped it in glitter. I then hot glued them on the front of the hat.
Here is my hat....I chose a vintage scrap of fabric for the main part....then picked all these crazy matching trims.
We can use these hats for any party occasion now!
They are light, extremely comfortable, & clip on snugly. No longer do you have to have a strap or headband to have your lil party hat stay on.
My pattern comes with printable banners :
Happy New Year's, Happy Valentine's day, Happy St. Patrick's Day, Happy Easter, Happy Mother's Day, Happy Father's Day, Congrats Grad!, Happy 4th of July, Happy Halloween, Merry Christmas, Bride, Groom, Happy Birthday, Over the Hill, Happy anniversary, Give Thanks, Party Girl, Happy Holidays, Life is good!, and Let them eat Cake.
Here is one I made in the past...
Smarty pants!
This one cracked me up!

Try and stay cozy...
our weather is extremely cold...we are embroidering, sewing, and doing computer illustration.
We are avoiding going out and about!

I have already been drawing Valentines and watercoloring them.
It's fun to just doodle and go over with a sharpie....then splash on some watercolor.
It is very relaxing actually!
Just like coloring...this is a new coloring book I got for Christmas ...along with new crayons...
I couldn't wait to test it out!
Let me tell ya...
Get to Target soon!!!
There dollar Christmas items are 70% off..
So the trees and snowman were 30 cents a pack!
They are big and so darned cute!
These large wooden wreath shapes were 90 cents.
I am going to cover/wrap one in red yarn and make a Valentine wreath...you can't beat the price.
Plus now they have all these cool Valentines...some 1 dollar and some are 3 dollars each.
My daughter and I were in heaven.
This is a large wood circle sign ...so much cuter in person
I love clothespins and clips.
How cute are these?!!!
Pink candy dish and a pink mercury candle holder....
These would be soooo much more in a specialty store!
Love it...
I actually needed a new wine topper...
I am the only one who drinks wine sometimes...and I need this to save it.
There are banners made from canvas and tassels...
And glittery hearts.
Tags!
Wooden heart garlands
cute buttons
These are all so sweet.
Let's just say...we wanted it all....we controlled ourselves alittle..lol.

I have some New YEars items in my etsy shop...all an instant download.
I am going to make myself a new party hat with the pattern above...in the middle.
I am going to a party and you have to have some kind of party decor on you...so this will be ideal.
I will surely embellish it to the hilt!
Here is to a Happy New Year!!!

So lets count our blessings and be thankful.
These freebies are from the past...just simple designs that are fast and easy.

Here are a few pictures of some of my Christmas decorations....I like vintage and corny retro!
Here is mama kissing Santa Claus....I always think of Michael Jackson singing it...plus my brother would imitate him super loud and annoy my sister Angie.
Good times!
This is my very pink and derpy section!
Complete with crazy mouse.
At the top is a paper Rudolph my daughter made in school when she was little.
This whole shelf reminds me of growing up in the seventies.
We didn't have many decorations back then...but we did have a Rudolph like this one.
Super sweet angel...found at goodwill.
See the Santa...it was one of my very first purchases of a Christmas item when I was about 12....Hallmark...
boy did I love Hallmark....I wanted to design for them...still a thought in my head.
Funny gnome and little elf..
Cute new Santa ....love his legs sticking out straight.
This elf cracks me up...I decided to make a yarn doll...I made a kitty...
I will have to share it with you!
Snowman and old ornaments in the boxes.
My old hutch ...full of scenes.
My Rudolph set....each figurine was 2 bucks....score!
This Santa on top reminds me of my mom....it was hers and she loved it.
The angel was a class I took....very fun!!
When I was a kid I was always setting up the displays....the little we had that is...
When I was 6 our house burned down....with everything in it ruined.
We had to spend our Christmas in a strange apartment and try to get through it.
These elves remind me of some of the decorations that were lost.
Yep...the Seahawk tree is back...my husband loves it and I swear the cats think it is the play area.
Our stockings our hung....ready for Santa...lol.
I love decorating the mantle...this is my new vintage Santa xylophone.
We have a white tree...we saw one in the movie Edward Scissorshands and fell in love with it!
We want to open these already!!!!

MERRY
CHRISTMAS!!
