Halloween Goodies, quilt show & turkeys

I wanted to share these fun so called goodies for Halloween that I found in an old magazine from 1948.
They are so crazy, but cute.
Who would shape prunes into a cat?
or take bread circles and add yellow cheese with raisins....lame!
I like the hot cider though.
Now with pinterest, blogs, TV and other sources...we all have tons of goodie ideas!
I think the simplicity of these are fun and reminds us of less complicated lives.

Here are some pictures of the
WSQ quilt show last weekend.
Thanks to all of you who came by and said hello...I loved seeing you!
My mannequin was decked out with corsages, purses, totes and more!
Setting up is hard, but I try to get everything on display!
I had a great booth, it was big and roomy!
I love my racks for patterns and more mannequins!
We have a lighted sign and lots of bright colors.
My skinny pumpkin man gets a lot of attention every year!
I ran out of some patterns...having to print emergency ones after the evening was over.
I love the Halloween section the best!
Valentines and sweetness everywhere!
Most of the time I get to help customer and chat....pretty fun!
My window of cats!
Selina's needle minders and pendant blanks.
Her cats and dogs sold out!
More mannequins...I must be obsessed.
Selina wore a party hat!
I have videos on my instagram!
This all cat pin pattern is always a hit.
I can't believe October is almost done!
Boo!
Some gorgeous quilts were on display plus lots of great vendors!
I love hexies!
There is a ton of talent on display with these quilts...it really inspires!
The creativity is everywhere!

WE took a walk on thursday...and there were tons of turkeys!
They don't care about ADT security...lol.

Some flew up to roost....

Then I saw this hive and wanted to run!
Speaking of turkeys....
This is my sale pattern of the week!
It is only $2.99!
Here is a great way to decorate for Thanksgiving! This Muslin turkey is easy to make and fast. Very Simple painting adds color to Turkey. He has bell eyes and muslin eyelids, and a cheesecloth comb and waddle. This comes with banner (both Happy thanksgiving and Give thanks), how to make stand, and lil acorns. Measures: 9" wide, 14" tall including base. The stand is a candlestick and plate...it doesn't matter what they look like...you transform it with my techniques.

Today I set up for the big Washington State Quilt show, we have a double booth this year.
I am in spot 39 and it is nice and roomy!

There was no rain...and that was great because all week the weather guy said we would be poured on.
I was not looking forward to keeping everything dry.

We have a different spot and I thought that would be bad, but I think it will be great actually.

Setting up was easier with a bigger spot, which eases stress.

But of course I had to do something to screw it up....lol
I was digging for bins and a heavy one landed on my hand,
I had a big goose egg looking lump on my hand...throbbing and driving me a little nutty.
All is well though....I just look crazy ...lol.

Come by the show in Spokane Washington...at the fairgrounds.
This is one of the nicest quilt shows around and the shopping is terrific.

Have a great weekend!

Come to the Home Matters linky party!

Easy as pie freebie

Easy as pie!
Sometimes it is pretty easy, like when you buy the rolled dough....but when you make the crust it gets harder. You know, to get perfect rust.
Have fun with this freebie and please let others know...every Friday is another freebie.

My daughter made apple pie for her boyfriend...and all the buddies came over and it was gone!
It reminds me of when my mom would take hours to make homemade bread and it was gone in seconds.  There was never left overs back then.

My latest obession is using Sulky sticky fabric-solvy for embroidery.
I just print on the paper...perfect for downloadable embroidery patterns (like mine!)...peel and stick on your fabric.
Here I am stitching on vintage linen....and printed out one of my designs on draft quality print.
It is easy to stitch through and would be awesome on dark fabrics or fabrics where you couldn't see the transfer pen.
After stitching you rinse away the printed paper/sticky stuff.....and let dry.
I put it in one of my daughter's small tag wood shapes, which she willhave available very soon.
Now it's finished... I added a pinback to it and put a ribbon in the hole.

Here is what the sulky looks looks like. it is in the sewing  notions area of craft stores.
I just cut from the roll a page size piece and print.

I am having a huge 30% off sale in my etsy shop...Until Oct 18th.
You can make corsages, wreath and ornaments with this pattern.
These are just some of the designs available in my etsy shop.
I have digital signs too...
and all kinds of printable collage sheets.
There are fun christmas designs like these kissing snowmen....
These christmas ornaments that were on the cover on Somerset holidays magazine....are only 5.59 for the pattern!

My daughter Selina is also having an etsy sale....
prices are already slashed....no coupons needed!

I illustrated our house this week...it was a fun challenge by the Roost tribe.
It has some serious flaws, but no bodies perfect right?
I did it really fast...a mad dash to get it done.

This is the picture I used to help me....
Last year's fall picture.
It was fun trying to figure out the drawing and make it work.

I am also bringing fabric, supplies, all of Selina's wood pendant and ornaments blanks.... and of course ... my patterns.
We have a new spot (#39) in bay 2...a double booth.
