Over the weekend...

Over the weekend....it was my Daughter Selina's high school prom!
She got this lovely dress.....for....drum roll.....
20 bucks!!
She is a thrifty shopper!
Doesn't she look great!
I had to hem it though since she is small.
This is her man...Jaryd.
They have been dating for over a year.
They get along so great...best friends too.
She is a gal that loves gaming....what guy doesn't like that?
He was helping her with her business this weekend too...what a gem he is!
They had a great time.
I got this on spring break...I just love this saying...it was 4 dollars!
We went to an antique show on Friday...I got this cute tin that used to hold cookies.
Cute old fashioned design.  I think it should hold sewing supplies now.
I am always looking for Vintage Halloween....I got this at Coeur D'Alene, ID.
Halloween noise maker....to scare away nothing but my cats....lol.

I love this little treat holder...I guess this was for Robert.
I think four nuts could fit in it!
I got this blue pitcher...I know it is new...but I love the look of it.
My lilacs are already in full bloom...I need to cut and out into this pitcher!
I love going to this primitive shop in a near by town...they have cute inexpensive pictures.
This is a huge tag my daughter made....cut from her laser....and I got to play with it!
I put random flowers and free motion stitched it up. Plus I added a glittery banner.
There is a pencil next to it...that is how big it is!
Here it is hanging in my office.
Selina is considering alot of new products for her etsy shop...this may be one of them.
You could put any embroidery design in it....making it instantly framed!
I recently got this lovely piece of art from Michelle Palmer....it is drawn on muslin!
I am still deciding if I will frame it and stitch it up into something.
I went to the EXPO in my hometown almost everyday back in the early 70's....with my siblings to look after me.
I got this little flag for 25 cents...it is a great memory for me.
This cute elephant was made by a crafter...glittered...tutu of  party streamer and a sweet paper hat...this is in my office.
Snoopy and Woodstock look after the office when I am not around!
Love their eyes!

Gotta get going...
Happy Monday!

Little girls...

Thanks heaven ...for little girls!
I love drawing little girls and love creating designs with little girls.
I have such a strong bond to my own daughter...it is like we have forever known each other....
maybe it is because it seems she has an old soul.  If there is such a thing as a past live...she would definitely have been with me before.
Above it my patriotic girl...a combo of fabric applique (super easy) and embroidery.
This is a different shot of my "She lingers in the garden" quilt...
It has fabric applique and simple blocks background.
(The color is off on this pic...should have fixed it...sorry)
I love the simplicity of this one....it is a super fast embroidery....framed in a hoop.
This one reminds me of Cinderella...which has always been a big favorite of mine.
My dad used to call me "Cinderella Dorothy Queen"....my 3 favorite people...lol.

This design started out as a simple doodle in my sketchbook...I love finding my original sketch and seeing how it changed for my pattern.

Can you see the glitter on the wings and dress?
This is the "Vintage Garden party girl"...
I used some scraps of vintage fabric for this one...love her green eyes!
This pattern ...called True love lasts...comes with the 3 designs.
Her flowers have lots of little beads...very easy to add to the embroidery.
Sweet Witchy poo
She is definately not scary.
See the bat dropping off a candy corn to her...lol.
Speaking of little girls....
I have to show you my little girl's prom pictures (before prom).
She is a junior and she got all glammed up.
Here is the cute couple...Selina with her boyfriend.
A little nervous yet excited.
They danced all night...had a great time!
....
Now I feel really old!
Boo hoo
...................
Find a little time for yourself today!

Duck tape Prom Dress & other creations

My daughter Selina (15 yrs old) has been creating again!
She has made all kinds of other things with duck tape...bags, backpacks, rings, wallets, pens...etc...
Now she has whipped up two prom dresses!
She is entering them in a duck tape contest.

Here she used...black, white, and zebra duck tape.
She sketched out a design and before I knew it...she came out with this!!!

I love the flowers on the top!

Here is her first dress...blue and purple....with a longer skirt in the back.

She has a way of just going for it!  She finds a way to make it happen!

Here she is with "Flo" the mannequin....Flo was named after the progressive lady on commercials.

I love her creations!

Last night while I was blogging...she paints this up with my fathers old paint and body shop paper.
She didn't sketch or plan it...she just started painting....so cool!

Yes...It is Katy Perry....one of her favs.
The proud painter!

The proud painter with attitude!

Here is Tom Hanks for her daddy...his fav
Now the painting is hung up in her bedroom...by pink duck tape...go figure....lol
I am so proud of her!!!

Go to her shop Peacock Gumdrop...to check out her Photography!
