D is for Duck freebie & more!

Yay!  It's the 4th installment of 26 freebies.....a sort of alphabet series!
For the other 3 go back to my last Friday's....I always post them on Fridays...plus there are tons of freebies from the past too!
You could use this to make a quick stitchery or embroidered quilt for a child...so cool!

Next week is "E is for......".  Be the first to guess the correct answer to what "E" could stands for ....and you will get a sweet prize.  Just make your guess in the comment section of this post.
One guess per person to make it fair!
-----------------------------------
I made up some new tags for my art shop!
These tags are perfect for Halloween....for gift tags and hanging in your home decor.

I painted the Skeleton and pumpkin image to make these tags....they are my own design. There are 10 tags on one sheet. There is a large oval 4 3/4" x 3 1/8", a large circle 2 15/16" x 2 15/16",
many assorted other sizes and shapes and words. There are alot of images that fit onto this sheet.
Just print when you need them...over and over. You can print on white cardstock, matte photo paper, or glossy presentation paper. Punch a hole in tags and add ribbon or string....so easy.
----------------------------
I also made some Bear shipping labels!
This bear design is something I drew and has been made into the cutest embroidery
Valentine Teddy bear embroidery PDF Pattern - stitchery pillow LOVE red beads rick rack new vintage like heart primitive
....but I thought it would make a perfect shipping label....a label with love! I digitally colored in the bear and added "To the lovely.." so you add the rest of your info with pen.

There are 8 tags to a sheet....just print when you need them and cut out....so easy. You can show your customers, friends and family the care you put into the packages you send.
------------------------------------------
Lastly I wanted to show you some more surface patterns I am working on.
I drew the pumpkin guy and other elements and put it into a repeating pattern for fabric and scrapbooking paper.  I am just learning and hoping to build my skills.
In Adobe illustrator you can change the colors of the design .....so I tried some....to much fun!

Have a fabulous weekend!!!

Saturday....& my first design....

Silly Saturday....duckie!
I love the cat tails by the pond.
This is the last of the "day of the week" designs....get all the rest by viewing all the others posts this week.
----------------------------------------------------------
I wanted to share today....my first real design that I got money from and published in a magazine.

I submitted a couple of designs to Country Marketplace magazine....they declined them and then I sent this pic.
They loved it and it was in a special Halloween magazine.
They are made from paper grocery sacks.
It is my first design and I was through the moon with happiness.
From then on I submitted designs to magazines...most being accepted.
After a while I decided I could make more money by making patterns.
Then I made my first one.....
Halloween Sampler embroidery Quilt PDF Pattern- stitchery primitive wallhanging witch ghost candy corn spider pumpkin embroidery paint
This was my first pattern.....and it still sells!
From then on I was hooked.
----------------------------------------------------
If you create your own crafts/designs/art....consider submitting them to your favorite magazines.
It is amazing how it makes you feel to see your item in print.

Don't take any "No"s to heart......sometimes its just not the right time, the magazine is full, or they are looking for something in particular.
Other magazines might want it.

Magazines most often pay you for a one time publishing and give you a plug or advertisement.

Give it a try....the worst they can say is no.......but they could say
YES!

Peacock Gumdrop collages

Good day to you!
I wanted to share my Daughter Selina's collages of her photography.
Selina is 16...a sophomore in high school with her own Etsy shop...
I am a very proud mother!

Her berry pics are so pretty.
She loves taking photos of nature.
Our area is Washington state is full of berries in every form!
Selina also love taking pics of ducks and swans...especially at our Riverfront park!

Pretty flowers.
Selina has a real eye for this!

She LOVES old buildings and loves to age them even more!

I had to throw in her latest photo...auto rims.
Some old auto shops here in Spokane love to make fences out of old rims....cracks me up.

Please check out her shop sometime!

Winter scenes of Spokane

The only real limitation on your abilities is the level of your desires. If you want it badly enough, there are no limits on what you can achieve.
Brian Tracy

The above pictures are of my home town....Spokane
These are my winter scenes of Riverfront park...it was created when the 1974 world's expo was in our city.  Our town is the smallest city to ever host a world's fair!  My mom got us season passes...and we were not well off...we came from Hillyard(the scrappy side of town).  I was just a kid, but remember it so well.  We went there constantly....it was so much fun!
It is now a gorgeous park in the middle of the city...with the Spokane river going through it and beautiful falls all around.

Vintage lil girl with toys- freebie

It's time for another freebie!!!
This is a sweet lil vintage design....it reminds me of tots in toyland...an old movie with Laurel and Hardy.  I might have the name a little wrong.  This girl has broken the string on her toy duck, she is just shocked.  I say just tie a knot in the string and keep running.

Change your thoughts and you change your world.

Spokane Washington ... our spring break

This is our beautiful city...Spokane, Washington.  We spent a lovely day at our park...Riverfront park on our spring break last week.  This is the site of Expo 74.  We are the smallest city ever to have a world's fair. Our city is the 2nd largest in Washington state.

The river is really high....and crazy full of water! In the background is the US pavilion.  It was once covered with white fabric....but it always tore...so now it is uncovered.

Under the US pavilion is an ice rink and carnival.

Here is part of the park and the Opera house

I love the clock tower!!

It is a beautiful tower...once part of the railroad....the site of the park used to be nothing but train tracks and yuck.

Lots of lovely sculptures.

The clock tower chimes on the hour and sometimes sweet melodies.

Close up of the clock face....this is huge.

During expo you could go up to the top.....I was 7 and remember it...such a wonderful experience...we had season passes....which was lucky since we didn't have too much money.  We went down on the bus nearly everyday.

This is a part of the park kids just love...a giant radio flyer slide.
Sugar shack and Ferris wheel
This is the a look at the city...part of it anyway.

My new best friends....lol

Isn't it cute when they tuck their head for a nap!

This is our carousel....kids love this too!

This park is HUGE...we walked all over...I was trying to work off my red robin meal

I love this ....it is really close to the platform where President Nixon and Ford stood.  Later Carter came!
I will continue with pics tomorrow.
Thanks for visiting with me!!

Happy Valentine's day!

Aren't these cute old valentines?!! I love collecting them...they never cost too much and they are so cheerful. Valentines(for children) now days are not very cute at all. In fact, they are downright cheap and ugly. Why can't anyone make cute new valentines for kids to give each other. I really doubt that anyone will collect these new ones in the future (but you never know!).

On a side note.....I feel sorry for everyone across the country having bad winter weather...we got ours last year! This year has been our best winter in years and years. It is funny how that works.....I bought a nice new shovel and have not used it once. Last year the snow was so deep, we broke two shovels. Here is to spring coming...for all of us!
