Hello Valentine!

Happy Valentine's day to you!

I just wanted to share some of my home decorations.
I got this little sign for only 5 bucks at a cool shabby chic store in Spokane, on Monroe street.

I am a sucker for vintage valentines....
especially ones with kitties!
My daughter lets me take over her christmas tree during the off season....so I bought pink and red ornaments after christmas when hobby lobby had them 75% off.
It makes a fun display, very cheery!
My tree topper is a big heart I made years ago that has an old photo of a man and it says "Fool of Love"...lol.
I love snoopy and the peanuts gang!
Snoopy is so cute and his antics are hilarious!
I got a huge honey comb display from the two women antique store.
I believe it is a Bethany lowe.
I got the sweetest glittery house with chenille stem kitty cat...right up my alley.
It was in a cool store called the Boulevard.
When clowns were cute...lol.
My favorite is this cat with a bonnet.
She has a mechanical hand.
My old quilt and a cute ornament made by Simply Eilene.
Her items sell out within a couple minutes of  her restock.
I painted Linus, on a whim....he just loves his teacher.
I wish he would have shared his chocolates with Charlie Brown.

I have a table runner and lots of goodies on it ....on my dining room table.
Quack!
You can't beat the dollar store!
Glitterama!

My little doll (I kept one for myself) and she is next to my party streamer trees...that look frosty.

Groovy artist!
Another sweet cat...that looks like a stuffed animal.
Vintage valentines...so delicate and detailed!
My hubby has bought me many many boxes of chocolates...love them all!
I also collect scottish valentines...my dad is from the Colquhoun Clan and my mom is from the Drummond clan.

Target had some amazing dollar store type valentine items this year...the unicorn was one of them!
Have a fabulous day!

Scottish Valentine & memories

I love this Scottish Valentine....
reminds me of dad...who came from Scotland 63 years ago....and is very happy to be here in America.
When he first came...he was so unhappy.
Everything was different and he felt very out of place.
As the years went by, he became accustomed to America.
He loved my mother until the day she died, even though they had been divorced when I was 2....they were very good friends.
He still has an accent and is VERY THRIFTY....
but he has always been EXTREMELY GENEROUS to me....
and his one and only grand-daughter Selina.
He now takes care of his long time girlfriend who has Alzheimer's.
He has more patience than I would ever had thought.
Love him!

It's me!

Yep...It's me!  I am not the kind of girl that seeks out a camera... in fact I like to avoid it like the plague.  My daughter convinced me that I need to show myself on my blog....so she is right...as usual.  Here I am being silly....I like to be silly!
I love my hoop art...I am making some for Halloween!
I like a good party hat, don't you.....this one says....Happy girls are the prettiest!
My mouse pin cushions....one of my best selling patterns!  It was only 97 degrees out when taking our pics...yikes!  My daughter said...yep...I'm hot now..I think we have enough pics.
As I get older..I am starting to finally look like my mom....which is strange since I look totally like my dad's side.....Scottish!  Mom was Scottish too though.  I am rambling!
Have a cool evening!!

Edinburgh ... Scottish hertitage

I bet you didn't know I am 3/4's Scottish!  I also have English and Irish in the mix.  My maiden name is Cowan...which comes from the clan name Calhoun.  We also have lots of other clans in our family like Campbell, Goodwin, Brown, and McEwen.  My mom was a Drummond.
Here are some great Edinburgh vintage postcards....I got these at an antique store specifically for my Dad.  That is the beautiful town he is from....I visited for a whole month in 1989.
We had a great time there....the shopping was terrific and so were the meat pies and sweets.

We walked all over the city...the castle was so cool.  I would like to go back with my dad, but he says he doesn't want to travel now that he is 81.  He had me sort of late in life.
My daughter wants to go alot...maybe we will someday.
