Happy September!!!

Yay...It's September!

And it is my daughter's first day of 12th grade

She is a senior!!

I always take a first day of school pic....this is the last time

boo hoo.

I am sure she will have lots of stories to tell me when she gets home.

I have a million projects in the works...and now I will have some serious time to actually

WORK!

In the meantime...

I thought I would share some books I have gotten recently.

Think happy be happy ...is a cute thick lil book filled with inspiration and art. 

See....so cool.

I love looking at it when I feel upset...

It calms me right down. 

I love collecting old school books! 

Especially when it has elements of Halloween in it! 

This is old and so useful 

I know my pic is blurry...but there is all kinds of phrases...which I could use on tons of projects.

This book I got at Hallmark.

The sweetest Halloween book ever! 

The graphics are great....colors are bright and cheerful! 

The story is cute and I am really inspired by this...so I had to have it.

Coloring is soooo popular....gotta get my crayons out. 

Old vintage coloring books are great too!

I have a huge collection now.

I do love the school teacher owl on the cover.

I promise to show you what I have been working on soon...

I have patterns to write, pictures to take...a long list of to-do's...

Plus my daughters birthday is Saturday....panic!!!

I guess I will take things one step at a time!

Moms...are you ready?

Are you ready for school to start?

Are you ready for cooler weather....kids getting on the school bus...alittle peace and quiet?

I am soooo ready!

The buying of school supplies are fun....but clothes shopping is something I put off for a little later.

My daughter is still wearing summery clothes for the beginning of school anyway.

I love the crayon smell....and nothing beats a box of brand new, untouched crayons!

 

Glue is so darned cheap....I usually get stocked up on white glue and glue sticks!

Plus you can never have enough pencils.

 

My daughter doesn't want to admit it....but she wants school too.

She wants to see all her friends.....gather at the lunch table, goof around and all.

I sometimes ask her if she learned anything, because she loves to talk about the antics.

 

I love these old school yearbooks!

I am sure football practice has started and some other sports.

These extra small flash cards are in my etsy shop....you download and print on one pieces of creamy cardstock.....cut out and it makes great scrapbooking elements for school pics....especially the first day of school picture we make our kids do. 

They will enjoy seeing all of them in the future.

These flash cards are also cool as tags for treats and teacher gifts.

These are small, but adorable!

It is still super hot....and summer is not over yet......but I am looking forward to school!

1st day of school...sophomore

It's my one and only babies first day of school...she is a sophomore now!

Selina is in touch with her feminine side....she loves trying different looks.

 

I will soon hear her tales of school...

I'll need a wine cooler after dealing with my day....computer decided to not work right.  I had to restore the computer to last month....I fixed it, but It wasn't fun.

I also cut my finger during all of it and had blood all over my keyboard and clothes....yuck.  Plus other little things got in my way.....oh well.

Sometimes things just don't go smoothly.

 

Whoever you are, whatever your dream, you have to be strong in your head and strong in your heart. Be strong. There's no quitting in the person who wants it bad enough.

Had to share this super cute pic of my hubby...when he was just a lil 1st grader!  My mother-in-law and sister-in-law are going through old boxes and found some old pics...so much fun to see them.

He still has this naughty smile and big brown eyes!

If you want to see a great ghostly movie...watch "Woman in black"....it is my new favorite starring the Harry Potter guy(he is all grown up).  I love movies set back in time...with creepy houses and ghosts.  I also love Peter Cushing movies and Vincent Price movies....ya can't beat them in my opinion.

School & life

The difference between school and life? In school, you're taught a lesson and then given a test. In life, you're given a test that teaches you a lesson.

Back to School freebie

Yay!  It's Freebie Friday!  It's time for Back to school....new clothes, new supplies, and new friends.  My daughter is entering high school...ninth grade...yikes!  She is really excited and has already got her class schedule which she loves!

This design would look soooo cute stitched up on black fabric and using white floss.  It would look like a chalk board!  You could use the old marking paper we used to use in Home Ec. to mark the design. 

It would also be sweet for a teacher gift.... as a pin. 

It is finally cooling off around here which is so exciting...too many days above 90...for me!!!

I have a new computer...since I was always fighting my old one.  It is great but I have to learn more things.  I threatened my old computer and now it is trying to be nice....ha!  I think my old computer put up with alot from me...he he he.

Back to School?

It is almost time for BACK TO SCHOOL. Can that be possible?  When it is 96 degrees...it seems crazy.
My daughter can't wait...she will be in high school.  Woot Woot!

I got an old annual from the sixties at a thrift store....so fun to look at the pics and read the messages.

These are cute in scrapbooks....the first day of school pics we all take of our kids.
School in Washington doesn't start until Sept 5th....but I know others around the country are starting...so enjoy the rest of the summertime if ya can!
