Silly Ninny Freebie

You silly ninny....
We have all been silly once or twice in our lives....and alot of us have been silly everyday.
This is the freebie friday!
I think this would be cute stitched into a small pillow.
Copy and save.
*Please note that all freebies are for you to use to make finished goods (no mass producing) and gifts...they are still legally my designs.
------------------------

I sometimes think working with bright and fun colors makes your attitude better...

Spring is right around the corner now!
I love gathering up scraps for these mice pincushions.
I never throw away scraps.
I am going to take a bunch of scraps....iron them and sew, sew, sew.
Why Hello glittery eyes!
I can't resist glitter.
This mouse has felts ears and eyes.
Look at his booty!
It is a yo-yo with ribbon tail.
I love this fabric....it is white with pins in cute colors.
Here is the original mice from my pattern....all Amy Butler fabric.
Sometimes I put my mice on a shelf or tucked on a branch on the Christmas tree...it always gives people a laugh.
Soft pink....Love!
This is one of my signs for Easter.

Let me tell you alittle bit about how I made it....
This started by drawing the design in the background....goofing around in my journal really.
I thought it would be fun to make a cat have bunny ears....like the cat would like to be the Easter bunny.
Then I cleaned up the drawing by retracing and scanned it into the computer.
I added a pink background.
I added text and a scrappy white border.

This free picture editor...is fun....play with it...punch all the buttons and discover what you can do with your pics.
It my favorite go to....to make my pictures nicer!

Happy Weekend!

Lucky charms & more!

I got a lot of random things to talk about today....
Lucky charms....they are magically delicious!
I just created this artwork...."Ask me about my lucky charms!" a pdf instant download.  This is so funny....great amongst your St. Patrick's day decor! I created the background art ...one of my repeating surface designs.
I wanted to share what I won recently....a lovely set of potholders from Spittin Toad.  Please check out her blog and etsy shop.  The fabrics she used are just beautiful.  A Big thank you to Denise!
She re-painted a dresser and it is sooo darned cute....it is on her blog.
I just put a few finished items in my etsy shops...I can't keep everything!
I Hand painted her face...on the prettiest floral fabric. She has a small flower by her face. On the front side is a tag that says "laugh"....with pink seam binding bow and a small gold safety pin. She has some great white trim around her as well. She is weighted so she stand well.
Lil shelf tucks...with inspiring words.
These are small and sweet.
Another set of four...with different words or sayings.
My "Hope" mixed media painting in my art etsy shop.
I made this small artwork to inspire and give hope. It is a painting on wood. I took papers and paint and collaged them all together. There is a crown and hearts....swirls and bright colors of all shades of pink. The sides are painted black. It measures : 3" x 4".
Swoon...another small mixed media painting on canvas,
I love the sentiment that comes from this one small word!
Hippity Hoppity.....
This is a prim Easter wicker hanger....I made this a few years ago. I used one of my wonderful old photos...of a pretty lady...gave her glittery bunny ears. She is inside a wicker heart shaped basket that has a prim rusty wire hanger. There is lot of moss and small flowers in the moss. It also has a small cheesecloth tie on the hanger. This measures:5 1/2" wide, 7 1/4" including wire hanger.
Lastly ...here is Froy ....Born to be wild!
Cat's always look funny when their nose gets close to the camera!
I thought he might give you a laugh.

I need a laugh today...sometimes life just throws a few punches and you have to deal with it.
I pulled out my gratitude journal.....and re read all I listed in the past that I am grateful for....already made me feel better!!

Inspiring crafty & artsy books!

I love art, craft, and sewing books....I have quite the collection.
but I can't buy everything that hits my fancy...I would be soooo broke if I did.
I went to my library....and was in heaven!
I got myself a whole stack of goodies!
Show your work is fab!
It was recommended by Bonnie Christine in her surface pattern design class.
It was very good...so I ordered the other book called Steal like an Artist.
Here is a page from show your work....it has lots of good advice.
Here is one on illustrating...I just happened upon most of these books.
I did search up the "show your work" book and placed a hold.  You can search for any book at your local libraries.  I am lucky to live in a city that has lots of libraries and when you place a hold ...they will deliver it to your favorite library for you to pick up.
This one is terrific....so many great ideas for hoops....and you know I love hoops.
Garage sales and thrift stores are full of hoops....dirt cheap!
Here is an inside page...showing how to use it to organize.
I love how you can just check them out...and see if the book is up your alley or not.
Then you can buy your favorites to keep!
This one is due sooner than the others since it is new...I better get reading it!
It is full of full learning opportunities.
I love Bari J...I was a guest stitcher on her blog a few years back!
Yummy home projects featuring her fabric!
I love what the ladies are wearing...no ordinary clothes for them....they are cool!

One more thing...I had to show you my little pot of flowers on my desk....from Trader Joe's....I think it was 3 bucks...so sweet.
I love seeing the cheerful purple flowers while I work.
The pot is a keeper too...a small wooden pot....which would be good holding paperclips later.
I know my flower won't last forever...usually somewhere down the road things croak on me...lol.
I noticed stores have prim roses too...for 1.39!!
Another good option when we all have Spring fever!

Happy Wednesday!

Happy Presidents day...sneaky peak

I thought you might enjoy seeing this vintage ad in one of my old magazines...
for Wheatena.
I love the presidential theme.
Remember when back in grade school they would put pictures in as a replacement for a word...like Washington's picture replacing his name.  Maybe it was kindergarten?
My daughter and I plan to go for a walk soon...the sun in shining,,,,,blue skies...just gorgeous!

Here is a sneaky peak of my next pattern...
I am thinking fairies!!!
My mom totally believed she could catch fairies in the woods
she looked under mushrooms and everything!
I would have loved to have seen that!

Have a fun day!

Last of alphabet series & MORE!

It's is Friday!!  Yay!
Here is today's freebie!  It is the very last in the series.

It is "Z is for Zebra"
Remember ...these would be sweet to stitch up in a kids quilt or on lil pillows.  For earlier letters in this series...go back to my past Friday posts.  They were posted every Friday...the last in the series being today.  Fun to color as well. Copy and save.
Here is a fun little Valentine gift for you...
an inspiration sign!
I believe when you see inspiring quotes, signs, and poster....they go into your brain...and
then the magic happens.
The background of the sign is part of my steampunk valentine repeating pattern I made.

I challenged myself by entering a spoonflower fabric contest.
I entered with a different color combination.
I am just starting this process here.
I firmly believe in just jumping in....
things don't have to be perfect before you try...
If we waited for everything to be perfect, then we would never try anything.

I wanted to show you the gals I am with on the Deflecto Design Team!
We have a blast designing with products from Deflecto.
Marilyn is the head of the team!
This is one item I have designed with using Deflecto products...
it is a large clear stand up frame.  I made it into a necklace holder display...by simply putting in pretty scrapbooking paper and using vintage clothes pins.  To see more that I have done

Have a fabulous Friday!
