Never give up!!!

One of my favorite quotes comes from a very wise man....Thomas Edison.
If we all did the things we are capable of doing, we would literally astound ourselves.
I really try to live by this.  When you have a dream...go for it....it doesn't matter if you get rejected.  I have been rejected many times....but every so often I get a big YES.  I have been in over 50 magazines....with my projects or a small article.  When I first tried to submit a design I was rejectsd...it doesn't feel good, but it always leads to better things and more self discovery!  I now don't care if I am rejected, I keep trying and doing my best.
I love my life....I get to design (play), make money, and be with my family.  It was hard work...I had to learn alot....but it is all worth it.
Go for Your dreams....we only have one life (that we know of)....so Seize the day!

Monday sale pattern- American land of the free stitcheries

I know....I am a day late!  I have been sick with the cold that never leaves!
This is my Sale pattern of the week!  It is all 3 stitcheries in one pattern!  The first is a basket of patriotic goodies in a heart shape...looks great on an old bobbin.  The second stitchery is a kitty cat with the flag, makes a cute pillow tuck for a shelf.  The 3rd (is my fav)...lady raggedy liberty.  I made her into a pillow..this one always gets lots of attention at quilt shows.
It is on sale on
my patternmart for $3.99!  The sale will go until Monday June 27th.
This is the first offical day of summer for my daughter, yesterday was the last day of school (she was sick like me).  We are going to go outside and get some fresh air
....and draw...she is already a great artist (13- now an 8th grader).  She is going to design some modern ( I am old school) stitcheries.  She already has some awesome scary drawings to convert for halloween.

FREEBIE FRIDAY -Cival war sweetheart

This photo is nice...reminds me of a cival war lady waiting for her man to come home.
Right now I am reading "The Union quilters" by Jennifer Chiaverini.  She writes alot of books...they are the Elm creek quilter books.  The union quilters is set during the cival war....makes you super glad to be a woman born now versus then.  Woman really didn't have many rights....women were mens property...yuck.
My hubby treats me like a queen and that is the way I like it...he he he.

Fun Wrist Cuff Bracelets

I am in love with making fabric flowers.....I always knew I should keep all my silky shiny fabric scraps!  I made this one with pink silk....and it has silky green leaves.  I added the word "Joy" to the cuff....all glittery, like a banner.  All you have to do is add fabric for a cuff and embellishments.

These ones are flat flowers...made with scraps of cotton fabrics, wool, and embellishments.  I need to keep a few of what  I make for myself...I always sell and never get to enjoy my things....:(
Does anyone else do that too?
I am already making my new Halloween designs.....so much fun!!!!  I get all excited about Halloween.  I don't know if it is the vintage old time feel or the candy or the scary movies or pumpkins and decor?????I love it all!

Farm Chicks...this Weekend!!!!!!

Here is the map for the Farm Chicks in Spokane Washington....one of the countries best antique and handmade goods show!  I am in booth 69...come see me.   Here is a closeup of map.  I have been making sooooo many goodies...I spent most of the day pricing and boxing it up.
My booth is so romantic....a shabby chic girly bunch of fun.  I will be posting pics soon of my wares....keeping them a secret until last minute.
Saturday, June 4th & Sunday, June 5th
Saturday, June 4th: 10am-6pm
Sunday, June 5th: 10am-4pm....7 dollars.
I recommend bringing a shopping bag and wearing comfy shoes.   It is very crowded on saturday...if you don't like crowds then sunday is a better day.
There will be Magazine editors there from Flea market style, Country living, and Jenny Doh (former editor of somerset studio...her blog is awesome) author of Signature styles.  They will be signing books and mags, come see them.
